Twenty five

Kol and Finn were tied in a similar manner that Klaus had been earlier.

"Are we sure we have to drink their blood?" Camille's face screwed up.

"It might not work because you're a human." I unceremoniously cut Finn's arm, letting it bleed into a small cup. "But we have to try."

"I wasn't even that in to Finn. He'd just invited me to the ball because he needed a familiar face to go with." She gestured toward him, and then hugged herself. "I didn't know that meant it was a death sentence."

"Why did we go to that ball?" I directed my question toward Klaus who was watching my movements closely. "Elijah said the invitations specifically said to bring your significant others, that didn't raise any red flags?"

"We didn't assume he had any ill intentions, no." He answered sullenly. "Lucien used to be an old friend."

"And the fact that he happened to bring the other two people you happened to frame to be hunted by your father was just a coincidence?"

Camille's lip curled when I handed her the cup.

"Let's not forget how Aurora is some kind of jaded ex lover. She stole my fucking ring."

Klaus crossed his arms. "That's where that went. I thought you were being spiteful."

"And when would I have been spiteful? Hm? Between being kidnapped, and running for my life, I haven't really had much time for anything," I threw my hands up.

"I was unconscious for several hours, I assumed it happened at some point."

"How did you break Klaus' curse?" Hayley leaned against the wall. "You smell like Jack."

"Stop stalling Camille, and just drink it, it gets worse when it's cold." I set my hands on my hips. I'd forgotten I was still wearing Jackson's clothes.

That might be why Klaus has been extra moody.

She plugged her nose and downed the blood, her expression souring. "God, that's awful."

I slapped Finn, and his eyes snapped open, that haunting blue shining. He immediately tried to move, but Davina's magic held firm. Thank Wöðen. "I don't trust him not to try and drain Camille, so we're going to do the same thing."

She reluctantly held her arm out.

"You've got his blood in your system so this shouldn't be so bad." Still, I wiped the bloody knife on the sleeve of my shirt and had her hold the cup. "It'll hurt like a bitch though."

Camille nodded, squeezing her eyes shut.

I carefully slit along her skin, waiting until the blood pooled enough before I removed the knife. The injury began knitting itself back together.

"You still haven't answered what happened exactly." Hayley set her hands on her hips.

"Do you want me to apologize for having your boy toy's clothes?"

She stuttered. "He's not my boy toy."

"Then it shouldn't matter." I pinched Finn's nose closed and forced Camille's blood down his throat.

He tried to fight, but whatever Davina's magic was doing was making him weak. Maybe she was draining his strength. I wasn't super well versed in spell work, that was more Sam's strong suit.

His eyes weren't flickering. Shit.

What else had we done besides the mark? "It's not working."

"How do you know? Maybe it takes a second." Hayley offered. As if it were even remotely helpful.

"Klaus' eyes flickered almost immediately. What if it has to be from the vein?"

"I'm not drinking any more blood."

"You'll need to if you want an Original to stop trying to kill you." I glanced around. I knew someone was missing. "Where's Marcel?"

"Looking for Rebekah and Elijah."

"Alone?!" He was an idiot. "Klaus can you go help him please."

"You'll call if there's trouble?"

"Yes." I had the lovely task of force feeding Finn without killing Camille.

He disappeared up the stairs.

Davina stood, her spell work apparently complete. "What do I need to do?"

I set my hands on my hips. "Immobilize him? I think I can activate his fangs without his willing participation."

Gods, this was going to be awkward. Thankfully Kol was still out for the count. We wouldn't have to worry about him until after we'd figured out Finn.

"How did you get Klaus to stop trying to kill you?"

"Oh my gods." I moved behind Finn's head and after a nod from Davina, I held out a hand for Camille, using the other to make him scent her blood. I tried not to be overly pleased with myself when I saw veins descend his cheeks. "Let's just get this over with, shall we?"

Camille held her wrist up to the Originals' mouth, and I helped Finn bite. I swear, if this doesn't work.

She let out a simper of pain, clearly putting on a show of strength.

Once he'd had enough of her blood in his mouth I made him let go. It was like a puppet. A seriously demented puppet. I had to physically move his jaw down.

"Let his wrist go."

Davina nodded, holding her hand out in front of her and muttering something under her breath. Finn's arm fell limply to his side. I drew it upwards, using my knife to reopen the wound from before.

Camille quickly set her mouth over it, barely getting a mouthful before she pulled back.

Still blue.

Fuck.

"I've tried everything I can think of." I laid Finn's arm back in place and Davina set to work again. "Klaus wanted me to get to him. Maybe we can't release Finn because he doesn't love Camille."

Would Sam know? From his books? What if there was something in the bunker. "I've got someone we can call."
