Patsy

It was christmas morning and he was still sleeping again. We were lying facing each other and my legs were around him as he had his arms wrapped around me.

I kissed his forehead and made my way to his temple, then his cheek and then next to his mouth. A smile played on his lips so I moved back having succeeded in waking him up.

"Hey, you were not finished," he said in a croaky, sleepy voice that would've made me fall to my knees if I had been standing.

"Morning my love, merry christmas" I said and his eyes opened properly and he smiled instantly as he looked at me which sent flutters everywhere.

"Morning, same to you" he grinned.

"Now tell me, what are we doing today?"

"I told you I'd take you skating."

"I know, but I know the area and I want to take you places, but you have to tell me what you'd enjoy, so listen." He nodded but his eyes gazed to my lips and I gave him a look.

"Listening, go."

"There's a bakery that is run by this wonderful old lady who doesn't have family here so she's always open on christmas and she makes the best pumpkin flavoured hot chocolate." He nodded in agreement but kept smiling and staring at my lips.

"I also want to take you to my favourite library and this may seem grim but I want to walk through the cemet-" He cut me off with his lips and he was also very aggressive, as if kissing me gave him life. It made my stomach do flips.

"You were saying."

"Just wait, I've forgotten now," I said slightly frustrated but not at all complaining.

"I'm sorry, I really couldn't help myself." He kissed me again and then I was able to speak.

"So I want to walk through the cemetery," I had paused and he took that as an opportunity to kiss me again. "Because it looks so pretty," kiss, "when it snows," kiss, "which I think is really nice," kiss, "because it's like the dead," kiss, "get to celebrate christmas," kiss, "as well."

"Were you talking about dead people?"

"You're not even listening," I said and he brought me closer and kissed along my jaw.

"I will do anything you want and the fact that you haven't realised that yet is surprising. And are you honestly going to tell me stop because I can throw a tantrum. Just let me devour you, because I want you so badly right now." I didn't say anything for a moment.

"Oh fine," I huffed and I returned his hunger. He kissed down my neck and then moved lower and lower taking my underwear down with him and then suddenly I found myself muttering his name through breathless begs.

"So where are you taking me?" He asked as I began walking quicker, having seen Patsy's Pastries.

"I knew you weren't listening." I stated, more annoyed at myself for trying to force this day on him.

"I was listening, an old man owns this library and his family are dead." He said with a useless amount of confidence.

"Oh my god, that's horrible, no," I stopped us out the front so I could re-explain.

"An old lady, who is very sweet by the way, owns a bakery, I am then taking you to my library and then to a cemetery."

"Am I being punished?" He asked rhetorically, as if I should laugh in response.

"No, of course not," I looked down, rethinking my plans. "I don't have to take you anywhere if you don't want to."

"I didn't mean I wasn't excited. All I want is to see you smile, now please, let's get hot chocolate, and I want to see your library," he said and I met with his eyes. "Just explain the cemetery thing."

"I already explained it."

"Right, I'm sorry," he said earnestly, "I just can't focus with you. You bewitch me." He cupped my cold face which was the only thing exposed in this weather as the rest of me was in a large coat. He leant down and kissed me softly before leading us inside.

"I bewitch you?" I questioned.

"It's a good thing, I just lose focus. Now hot chocola-"

"My Lucy Rose!" Patsy beamed and she came around from the counter to give me a hug. "You brought someone," she said skeptically.

"Hi Patsy, yes this is Cohen."

"It's nice to meet you Patsy."

"It is Mrs Bloomfield," she said as she eyed him.

"This is my boyfriend," I said and she made a 'hm' noise.

"Is he nice to you? You don't deserve just anyone from the street."

"Oh no, Cohen has been a family friend for years and he treats me very very well."

"I'll be the judge of that," she concluded, giving him one more look as she gestured us to a booth. I felt bad, he looked really nervous now.

"Two pumpkin hot chocolates, I assume," she said and I nodded.

"Of course, it's that time of year, thank you Patsy."

"Of course dear." She walked away and Cohen exhaled.

"You didn't tell me she was scary."

"She usually isn't this protective."

"How do I not know about this bakery."

"I've kept it secret."

"Interesting."

We drank the hot chocolates and he agreed with me when I said that it was the best hot beverage ever created.

"Where to now?"

"Weren't you listening, I said I was taking you to the zoo," I said and his face went pink.

"You mentioned the zoo? I really tried to listen and I know I didn'y pay close attention but I am sure you never said anything about a zoo."

"I didn't. But you handled that very gentleman-like." He stood up from the booth and held out his hand. I notices Mrs Bloomfield watching intently and she met my gaze. I took his hand in mine and he put on my coat for me before then holding the door open. I looked back to Patsy and she nodded and waved. I hoped that meant she approved.

"Were you truly being kind, or was that just a show to get on Patsy's good side."

"Would you care if it was a bit of both?" He wondered and I laughed and took his hand in mine as I lead him to a place that closely resembled the internal workings of my brain.

"Ah, yes, a library, I remember you saying something about a library this morning, while your lips were begging for mine." He said as we walked inside.
