Knocked
I ran into the bathroom and got a washcloth and then returned to him, I took off the jacket, getting too hot. He kept groaning in pain, which was most likely the stab wound. I hope it wasn't deep. I unbuttoned his shirt and took it off, trying my best not to be affected by him. I pulled his pants up, to hide the obscenity that was his v lines.
"Getting distracted nurse?" He mumbled.
"Shut. Up." He chuckled and then winced and I laughed.
I cleaned the blood from the stab wound, which was below the bruising. So he was beaten up and then he was stabbed. Just a tad excessive.
It was only a tiny stab, he obviously avoided the knife or whatever it was from going further, so he didn't need stitches, but this was the part he would hate me for. I grabbed the bottle of rubbing alcohol and another towel. I got a good amount on the towel and then I leaned over him so he could look at me.
"Hey," I said and he opened his eyes.
"Hi, aren't you meant to be fixing me?"
"Well, you seem awfully grateful."
"It's just, painful, sorry Mary."
"You really have to stop calling me that," I said knowing Gray hated it. Graham. Shit, he'll probably be wondering where I am. "Okay, let's get this over with. I have to disinfect your stab wound before I bandage it otherwise it'll get infected."
"Not the rubbing alcohol."
"I know, I'm sorry."
"Gave me nightmares."
"Okay don't be a baby, just hold my hand okay." He held onto my left hand, and I dabbed the towel with the alcohol on his wound and I winced as he squeezed my hand tightly.
"I dont have the tools to fix a broken hand," I said and he let go of me.
"Sorry."
"That's okay, better than last time at least, there's no bruising."
"Hey, I apologised, and I kissed it better." He stated, glancing to my hip.
"You want to see how it healed?" I said sarcastically and he looked back up at me. I got the bandage and taped it over the wound, giving it a tap and he winced.
"You did that on purpose."
'You have no proof. Okay sit up so I can deal with your face."
I cleaned up a bit and rinsed the washcloth before returning to him and wiping the blood from his face.
"You have done a wonderful job, thank you," he said sarcastically, about to sit up.
"You can't move. You'll make your wound bleed and then I have to rebandage and I'm guessing you won't be returning every time it's starts to bleed."
"Well, to be completely honest I have nowhere to go, my place isn't really safe right now."
"Okay spill."
"You won't like the story."
"I've seen how it ends so just tell me." He hesitated for several moments and the finally began.
"Okay, well I was minding my business as I drove home from the gym, I pull up in my driveway and as soon as I step out of my car, this giant dude comes out of nowhere and starts punching me.
I fight back, getting a few jabs in myself, it wasn't a complete beating, the other guy was left unconscious in fact. Anyway, then once he's out, I try and get up but he got me good on my jaw and my stomach. Then someone else showed up and I found out why I got paid this lovely visit."
I snapped my head his way. "It was my father. Are you serious? Is history repeating or something. I swear all he needs to do now is have another hissy fit at dinner and stick a shard of glass in me."
And the fact that he was there when Tommy came home from the gym means he was watching him first.
"Hey, he's not going near you okay, he's just pissed with me. The way I resigned wasn't to his liking and he gave me one final job to do."
"What is it?"
"He said for me to leave the country."
"Can you go to Ireland? Did he mean the entirety of the UK or just Scotland?"
"What do you think? So I'm organising a trip to Australia, have a nice life." I ignored his sarcasm and made him face me.
"Wait a second, that doesn't explain this little stab wound here," I said tracing my finger around it. He stared down at my hand which quickly made me stop touching him.
"Well, when your dad explained all this to me, he helped me up. I assumed he was going to leave but he pulled out his pocket knife and threatened me. That if I ever go near you or his business, that he would deliver me in parts to you."
"Why me?"
"Does anyone else in the world care about me?"
"Tommy," I said.
"It's okay, I'm used to it. I've only ever had you since getting involved with your father. Before that it was Gregory at the orphanage who beheaded all the toys." I laughed.
"So he threatened me and then pushed me forward with the knife. He was pushing near the bruise which was painful so no matter that I was backing up away from him, the knife still caused damage. He left, along with his lackey, and I managed to drive here and drag myself up your stairs. Luckily I remembered your dorm from last time."
"So my father is the reason for this."
"He is a man of tradition."
"Well you can stay until your better and then do you have somewhere to go? I can talk to my father maybe."
"No, don't, I can stay with a buddy from work." I nodded.
"I'll um, get you another top of some sort, and then I'll set up the couch for you."
"We can't share the bed?" He said and I gave him a look. He chuckled before his eyes looked to the door. I followed his gaze and saw Gray. Lovely.
Graysons pov
I began seeing red as I realised it was Tommy who was in her bed, shirtless. She stood up from where she sat beside him and walked over to me.
"Hey, look at me okay, let's talk before your mind conjures up possible occurrences." She aimed my head down at her and grabbed my hands, leading me out to the couch.
"Start speaking, please."
"My dad organised a fun surprise for him tonight." She said and her hands found mine and I squeezed them as I noticed she looked scared. She winced slightly, which concerned me.
"What?"
"Well, he was holding my hand when he was in pain and he squeezed a little too hard." He hurt her. I went to stand up but she held me down. "It's fine, I'm fine, it's not his fault."
"Just tell me what happened."
"So he was beaten by this guy and they fought, and then my father threatened him and told him to leave the country and to never go near his business and to stay away from me." That sounded like a wonderful idea.
"And this is bad why?"
"Gray, come on." Couldn't her father hospitalise him and send him to that cold, smelly room of the hospital.
"Yes fine, go on."
"So my dad pushed against him with a knife as well, and he managed to get here."
"Why did he come to you?"
"I'm all he has. His brother's never been there for him, and is a junky, Tommy had to bail him out once and now he's an adult so Tommy hasn't heard anything about for all he knows his brother's in Guam. He doesn't have anyone there for him. Like last time."
"Last time?"
"When we younger, my father found out about how close we were and suddenly Tommy disappeared for 2 weeks which was odd because we saw each other almost every other day. Then he shows up at my window with a dozen injuries and he hadn't shaved or anything. My father literally held him hostage and tortured him."
"Yet you continued sleeping with him."
"I didn't, that's when I ended it." I suppose it would make it seem like love always ended in disaster in her world. "Anyway," she said, looking tired. I guess my jealous comments weren't helping.
"So how long is he paying a visit for?" I asked, toning down the hatred a little as I caressed her hand.
"Until he's better. He'll sleep on the couch." He'll see her here. When she gets up and goes to bed.
"Alright, fine, let's go back to bed." I said, wanting to get her to my room.
"I can't leave."
"Why not?" I asked her, a hint of begging in my voice so she could just dump him and come with me.
"He's my responsibility and I don't live alone. That's rude on Dillon and Lucy. It'll be rough tonight so I have to take care of him, he doesn't have anyone else."
"No family?"
"Like I said, he has a brother but they're orphans and practically not brothers anymore."
"Doesn't he have a last name?"
"Yeah, Glasgow, but he had made it up."
"Why Glasgow?" I asked her, trying to stall.
"He was born there. So will you stay?" She looked so worried about us, she shouldn't be. I trust her, I don't trust him. He makes me seethe.
"I think I'll head to my dorm." I hoped she understood. Saying that he made me so jealous and angry out loud was too pathetic.
"You're not mad?"
"Well, this isn't my favourite situation, but it's temporary, right?"
"Yes, of course."
"Okay, well I'll see you at breakfast." I deep breathed, standing up. She stood up also and hugged me. I made it short wanting to get some air.
I kissed her briefly and then left.

Eleanors pov
I watched him walk out, hoping he would hold onto the last couple days. How perfect they were.
I slowly walked back into my room, Tommy still laying there shirtless.
"So, what's your punishment."
"He just doesn't like you okay, and I understand why."
"You don't like me?" I threw a big t-shirt I had at him.
"It's a complicated situation given our history, but I like you in the old friend way."
"Just the place I want to be," he said sarcastically.
"Can you please stop with all the flirting, and no saying stuff like what you said in the car okay. Just behave until you're better. Deal."
"Deal." He stated, heading for the door. "I'll do whatever you want, you should know that by now." I didn't know what to say as a response which didn't happen often.
"Go to sleep, I'll wake you up in the morning and you'll eat, okay?"
"Yes boss." He said, and he walked over to me slowly. "Thank you Mary, for tonight, I mean it. You truly are something else." He stumped me again and he just smiled. "Goodnight."

I woke up tired already, so I treated it like a hangover, because it sure felt like one. I put on sunnies and grabbed my earphones and played some music. I walked out and went straight to the coffee machine and made myself an espresso.
"Do you think she can hear us?" I heard Dillon say.
"Maybe, but does she know, I mean that's her t-shirt he's wearing and she wouldn't walk out like that." Luce said back.
I had almost forgotten about Tommy which then made me realise that Luce was right, I wasn't wearing a lot of clothing.
"Well, she'll know in a couple seconds."
My earphones were yanked out and my sunglasses taken off and I turned quickly about to grab them back from the culprit as he sped walked away.
"Tommy, you nuisance," I went after him and he stopped me.
"Hey, I am an invalid, you can't hit an invalid."
"Can I just have them back please?"
"You've attained some manners but you're still not a morning person."
"It's a big shock I know," I said sarcastically holding out my hand. He pulled my hand toward him and put my belongings in my palm and then he yanked me close and started tickling me. "I'm going to kill you," I said as I laughed hysterically.
"Good morning," he said, walking away and leaving me on the floor, defeated.
"You better-" I began but he soon returned with his hand outstretched. "You're lucky."
He laughed and I wished that he wasn't injured so I could pull him down with me.
"How's your stomach?" I asked him and he lifted the t-shirt showing the bandage. It bled through.
"I have to rebandage that."
"Alright, you want to do it now?"
"No, I'm going to get dressed first, and you need clothes and a shower. Come with me."
"I think, I'll wait for you, your friends look... like that." I turned and saw them eyes wide staring at us and I laughed.
"Yeah okay, but sit and don't move."
"Yes boss."
He went in my room and closed the door and I grabbed my coffee and went to the girls on the couch.
"Are you guys okay?"
"We need context," Dillon said.
"Right now please."
I explained what happened and they seemed more understanding now and their eyes went back to their normal size.
"And Gray is okay with this?"
"What do you think? It's Graham. But Tommy is only here until his better and then he's gone, and Gray trusts me so it should be fine. I told Tommy to behave anyway and not pull anything with Gray like he did at the hospital." They nodded, Lucy exhaling as if she was relieved. She knew her brother, and the fact that he'd end up killing Tommy if he kept making comments.
"Well aren't you maternal, taking care of them left and right," lucy said and I giggled awkwardly.
"I wouldn't say maternal, I'd say care's for friends when they need her." I'd never really shared with them that I didn't want kids. Dillon wanted 4 and I knew Luce wanted kids, or at least a kid.
"Okay, well, I need to get him clothes and then get dressed myself so we can meet the boys at breakfast."
I went to my room and saw him sitting at the edge of my bed... with just underwear on.
"Did you really need to undress here."
"Not like you haven't seen it before."
"Yes, but this is the kind of thing I'll be murdered for."
"You're talking metaphorically yes."
"Yes, obviously, Graham isn't like that." I said and then added, "with me."
"I don't want to wear girls' clothes."
"I know, you're a big tough guy now. Don't worry I have some guys clothes."
"Graham's?"
"No," I said quietly, looking through my draws. I grabbed bike shorts as makeshift boxers and then some joggers and a polo. "Top might be a little tight." I gave him the clothes and then grabbed him a towel.
"I think we need to backtrack. Why do you have a whole draw of guys' clothes."
"Stop exaggerating. I just have a few, and it's from certain times where clothes aren't worn and a guy will offer me things."
"So before Graham and after me, how many are we talking?"
"I don't expose information, now let me take the bandage off." He exhaled and I bent a little to carefully take off the bandage. "That doesn't hurt does it?"
"Yes, a lot, could you make me feel better by telling me how many?" I laughed at him and nudged him into the bathroom.
"Not saying a word."
"I'll get it out of you," he said and I closed the door on him.
I got out another bandage and the tape, and a cloth with the rubbing alcohol again. I hoped the other girls didn't need the dorms' first aid kit, I'm kind of monopolising it.
I then grabbed out some clothes and I got undressed.
I had pants on and was just putting my bra on when he walked out of the bathroom, shirtless. I quickly turned, so I didn't flash.
"Sorry, I should've knocked."
"That's okay." It's like the universe wanted me to mess up by putting him right in front of me so much and with a lack of clothes. But I wasn't swayed, I just felt guilty. Tommy and I have had our time, I wanted Gray. I couldn't wait to get my ring so we could be forever.
"Hey, it's twisted."
"What's twisted?"
"One of your straps," he said and I felt him walk up behind me. "Do you mind?"
"Um, no, go ahead." His fingers brushed on my back, they were cold and so I flinched slightly.
"Done."
"Thanks." I put my top on and slipped my boots on before turning and tending to my latest patient.
"Is that the alcohol again?"
"How can you look so tough and strong, yet be such a baby."
"Says you with your death stares," he replied and we both chuckled.
"It's been so long."
"Since what?"
"Since, we've been like this."
"I missed y-it." He said and so I rubbed on his wound with the cloth and he tensed, his abs more defined.
"Can you hold this there," I said and he held the bandage on top of the wound so I could tape it.
"Thank you again."
"No worries," I said as he stood up and put on the shirt. "The bruising is healing, and your face looks somewhat better."
"That's a positive right, you'll get me out sooner." I didn't reply to him.
"Let's go."
Grahams pov
"Mate, stop, it's like an earthquake," Cohen said, and I stopped bouncing my leg.
"Sorry."
"Calm down, okay. She would never even go there... again."
"Thanks."
"Hey there they are." Blake said.
They went and got food, she looked tired, but she was laughing and not at my sister or Dillon.
"Morning boys," Dillon said kindly.
"Morning,"we all replied separately.
"Look happier," my sister said to me as she sat beside. I loved her but why did she sit next to me, that leaves two spots across us. They sat down together and she smiled when she saw me.
She leaned over and kissed me. "Morning." I breathed in when she was close to me, on purpose. Any jealous tension I had went away with that one short kiss.
"Morning love."
"Goodmorning, Graham," Thomas said and I noticed him wince and glance at Eleanor. That made me happy.
"Morning. So you know when you'll be better?" I asked, trying to add some kind of compassion. I don't think it worked though.
"Only a few more days, promise," he said. Eleanor's leg found mine as she glided her boot along mine. I smiled to myself and looked up finding her looking at me and smiling.
"Hey, Len, you want?" Blake asked her, and he had his vape in his hand.
"No, I'm alright."
"You are a hypocrite," Thomas said to her and she turned to him and rolled her eyes.
"No, I'm not."
"You yelled at me when I did it."
"Okay, well I never said that I wouldn't do it." She said and laughed. "Would you like a puff?"
"No, because I don't do that stuff," he said.
"Oh okay, good for you," she said sarcastically and he laughed and shook his head. Then he went and tickled her and she almost fell off her chair, I wanted to laugh at her but I was too busy watching him smile as he touched her.
"Stop doing that," she mumbled, laughing. He's done it already? He needs to heal in the next five minutes and get the hell away.
