Dancing

I showed him where they kept the old copies and then I took him down to the archives with the help of Mr Dorset who always allowed me to explore since I first discovered this place at the mere age of twelve.

He gave me the key, and I have never understood why he lets me take such liberties with this place but I've never questioned it because I never want to lose this freedom. This place brought me my love of literature.

"Ah, here it is," I said and Cohen joined my side as I showed him the old newspaper publishings from the very day I was brought into this world.

"Is that you?" I nodded. "I knew they published births I didn't know they published pictures."

"Apparently I was the first daughter born after a whole year and so the whole town was excited."

"You are an adorable baby."

"This is kind of funny, now we are going to the cemetery." His faced dropped as he stopped admiring my picture and he faced me.

"You showed me your birth in the newspaper and now you're taking me to where people die?" I giggled while packing up and then I grabbed his hand.

It was a ten minute walk and finally we made it in front of the gates.

"This seems wrong." He said, stopping right in front of the entrance.

"It's really not, trust me," I said kissed him briefly and holding out my hand.

"Fine, but if I die in here make sure I get cremated."

We walked through the headstones, I always made sure I had the right mindset before coming here. Which was that we all die someday and this is what fates these people were given. It may be sad, and horrible but it can be beautiful, which is why I liked this cemetery.

We finally made to the middle, where there was a gazebo. It had green vines snaking through it with various coloured flowers. There was a small river than ran through the cemetery and there was a bridge.

"Now I understand why you like this place. Let me guess, this was your favourite reading spot," he inquired and I nodded, a smile on my lips.

He took me into the gazebo, to the middle, and he held me close.

In a soft whisper he said, "is it to cliche of me to dance with you?"

"Yes, but I don't really care." He smiled and positioned himself. My right hand in his and my left around his back. We started to dance and I kept my eyes locked on his as he guided us through the gazebo.

"You are just," he said not finishing his sentence.

"And so are you," I replied and he smiled.

"Best christmas so far."

"You shouldn't speak too soon, because what about next year."

"No, I think today will be the best, just wait."

"What have you planned? You said ice skating. Let's go."

He took me down streets I wasn't too familiar with and then we were standing in front a giant ice skating rink.

"How did you do this."

"I called a guy," he said nonchalantly.

"Cohen," I said in disbelief. He went and grabbed our skates that resided behind the rink. It was surrounded by wood, it was made. He organised for a ice rink to be made.

"Well, come on," he said and I began putting on the skates.

"Oh I love skating." I rushed to the rink and began gliding around. It felt so good to just glide and breath in the crisp air. I turned to see Cohen watching me. He had put on his skates but he wasn't joining me.

"What are you doing over there?" I asked.

"Watching you, you look so happy."

"You can't skate."

"I wouldn't say can't, just that my legs dont like to cooperate with my head." I laughed and skated to him.

"Just hold my hands and you'll get the hang of it." I showed him how slowly, but as soon as he got on the ice he fell and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry," I said and helped him up. I went close to him and I threw off my gloves. I then snaked my hands under his jumper on his bare waist, caressing the lines of his torso. I looked at him while doing this and he smirked.

"Now just think about it like dancing," I said and I started skating backwards as he went forward. I kept holding him, inching higher up his torso. He got the hang of it, and he didn't look away from me once.

"See, you got it," I said and removed my hands from him. He grabbed my hand and brought me into him.

"You can't just do that and think you will get away with it," he said in a low voice before he tilted my head back and kissed me. I snuck my hands back up his shirt, my cold fingertips making him shiver.

"Cohen, let's go home," I said, want in my eyes.

"Of course my lady," he said and got us off the rink. He took my skates off and carried me to my shoes and we began our journey home.

I loved that we could walk everywhere, and enjoy each other and the weather.

"Thank you Cohen, I had the best time."

"It was actually a selfish act because of how happy I was when I saw you so happy. So you shouldn't thank me." I intertwined our fingers and leaned into him.

"I love you."

"I love you too," he said and kissed me as we walked.

We were a few houses away and I laughed to myself.

"What is it?" He asked.

"What do you think Graham and Eleanor are doing at home?"

"I don't think there'll be a home on the inside. They could've burned it down."

"Or..." I said and raised my eyebrows.

"Maybe we should close our eyes before walking in." I nodded in agreement.

We walked up the steps and opened the door. Slowly creeping inside. We heard them but I was deeply confused.

"Is that-?"

"Laughing? I think so," I said in equal disbelief.

"What on earth are they laughing about? Together?" He wondered and we were about to find out as we approached them.

They were laughing together. In the kitchen. Cooking dinner. Together. Laughing. Eleanor was also wearing Grahams jumper.

Cohen and I exchanged a look of shock and we faced them again, not knowing what to say.

"Hey guys," Eleanor said, in a happy tone. "We're making dinner. We wanted to do something special for everyone."

"You did," Gray said and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"He came to me with the idea," she said.

"Nice jumper," I said to her and she looked down. Graham smirked to himself, looking pleased. My body and mind weren't moving, or reacting. Cohen finally nudged my back forward and I moved finally. He took off my coat and whatnot and he the same.

"I didn't know I'd feel so uneasy hearing Graham make that noise," Cohen said.

"You mean laughing?" I replied and he nodded.

"Do we help them, they seem fine." We turned to observe and Eleanor was chopping and stirring while Graham cleaned up after her.

"They seem fine," he said, "let's go to your room and continue what we came home for. Please, because they are making me uncomfortable."

"You're telling me? Hurry, take the stairs two at a time." We were in my room in a matter of seconds and I locked the door and crashed myself into him.

I jumped up and he caught my thighs as my legs wrapped around him. He sat on the bed, falling back, which meant I was on the top. So I lowered myself and raised his top and I kissed along his v-line and up his torso.

I then started to undo his pants.

"Luce," he breathed out, I looked up at him while I pulled down his boxers. "You don't have to-" I assumed he didn't finish what he was going to say because I had all 8 inches of him in my mouth.

"Oh my." Was all he said as I joined his side on the bed.

"You're welcome."

"Where did you learn- anyway. Your turn." He smirked.

"Dinners ready!" Eleanor yelled. I laughed and went into my bathroom to clean up.

"That was horrible timing."

"There is always after," I said while brushing my teeth.

I came out to the bedroom where he had put his clothes back on and I went and kissed him.

"You're all minty."

"Well, I thought you'd prefer that over your own flavour," I joked and then made my way downstairs.

Mum had just walked through the door as Eleanor lit the last taper candle.

"Have my wonderful children prepared dinner?"

"Cohen and I have been out, it was all Eleanor and Graham," I said as I kissed her cheek hello. She raised her eyebrows at me and I knew what she was saying. This was her reaction to Gray and Len spending the day together. A lot better then my frozen shock.

"We just thought it'd be nice." Eleanor said. Cohen had joined and Eleanor clapped her hands together. "Alright, let's everyone sit and enjoy."

We all joined around the table and Eleanor started putting everyone food. I wanted to laugh at how unlike her this all was. She was being very domestic.

"So how was everyone's day? I take it Lucy took you to her library."

Cohen chuckled and looked at me with a smile. "Yes she did. I saw her birth in the newspaper."

"Yes, it was a very nice time for the town." While everyone ate I noticed Graham shake his head.

"Yes it was. And record of my birth just never happened, even though I came into the world all of 3 minutes later." Graham commented. I have heard this a thousand times.

"We've spoken about this, you were still in the hospital. They believed you had a heart problem and we were worried."

"Turns out he did have a heart, it just didn't have any love," I mocked, like I always do. Usually when I teased my brother Eleanor found it amusing. But she just sipped her drink.

"You never get tired of that do you?" Graham asked and I laughed.

"Your brother has love, monkey, he just never lets anyone see it."

"I don't have proof but he hugged me the other day," I said.

"See, that should be enough evidence," Eleanor said.

"You believe I have a heart do you?" Graham asked sarcastically, with a smug smile on his face.

We had all pretty much finished eating and Cohen, my mum and I observed Graham and Eleanor.

"I didn't necessarily say those words. You didn't have a heart the night of the solstice I can attest to that." My brother chuckled and Eleanor gave him a disapproving look.

"Yes, when we argued about the food being served."

"Not again, please," I said, practically begging.

"I promise not to argue about food, I already admitted I was being a git." Gray said, with his hands up in protest.

"Yes, which meant I was right and you were wrong," Len said and we all giggled. I notice my mum smile and leave us be. She seemed tired, which was understandable. I'm glad she knows we're okay.

"Yes, you were right."

"I should record you saying those words," Eleanor said and they laughed again.

"Thanks for dinner you guys, we're going to head to bed." I said and then remembered. "Separately of course."

"I know you guys have been in the same bed. I don't want to know details. But I'm sure cohen knows that I will kill him if he does anything to hurt you." Graham smiled, but it was a murderous smile that caused me to get goosebumps. He truly scared me sometimes.

"Trust me mate, I know." Cohen said, standing up. I took his hand in mine and guided him away before my brother killed him.

I glanced back and saw Eleanor and my brother talking. With smiled on their faces.

As we got into my room, Cohen picked me up and carried me to the bed.

"I get to return the favour now."

Grahams pov

We cleaned up in silence. I was so deep in thought that I kept knocking into her and we just laughed it off.

Once it was all done we just stood there. The night couldn't be over. I wasn't tired. She seemed to be feeling the same way as we glanced at one another. Nobody moving toward the stairs.

"Would you like some coffee. I'm not really tired."

"Yeah, yes," I said and I sat on the table.

"I guess we call it character development," she said, with a mischievous smile on her face. It somehow made her look even brighter alongside her bright hair and glowy skin.

"Call what?"

"You. The fact that you admitted to being wrong. And the fact that you were bearable all day."

"Do I say thank you?"

"No, that would be too weird for you." She carried two mugs and joined me at the table. "So tell me Graham, since when did you like home alone." I laughed and decided I would share some moments from my childhood. Some. And maybe a few thing about me. A few things
