Scott's POV

" McCall, I need you to stop daydreaming and start playing! " , my coach yelled at me

My mind was dazing off into space when I heard the sound of the ball smacking into the net goal. I blinked once before realizing that I didn't do anything to prevent the ball from hitting the goal.

At least this was just another day of practice.

I heard cheers coming from the other team since Coach Finstock divided us into two separate teams for a warmup. I shrugged in response before being approached by my best friend and my two betas with their helmets off.

" Have you ever watched high school musical? " , Stiles randomly asked me

" Yes...only because you made me watch it. " , I lightly chuckled.

" Get your head in the game, Scotty! " , he smacked my head

" Sorry. I just haven't been feeling well lately. " , I said before rubbing my head.

" Last time I checked, you're a werewolf. You can't get sick. " , Liam mocked me

" Ha. Ha. So funny. " , I rolled my eyes

" I think Scott meant that is he lovesick. " , Isaac cracked a smile

" I'm not lovesick. " , I snorted before taking off my helmet.

" Um yes, you are. You are clearly obsessed with someone in particular. " , he gave me a look.

" And you haven't told me?! " , Stiles gasped

" It's not that important. " , I rolled my eyes

" I think we deserve an explanation, Scott. You haven't been yourself lately eversince you told me that you encountered the magical girl the other day. " , Liam said

Stiles and Isaac nodded in agreement.

" Fine. " , I sighed.

Lacrosse practice ended for today. I received a scolding from Coach Finstock about my terrible " weak " defense and how I was never met to be a goalie. I told the boys that I would explain everything to them one day.

I just needed time to find a way to explain it to them.

Then I proceeded to drive to my job as a part time as a veterinary technician at Dr. Alan Deaton's animal clinic. It was the usual for me to work with animals and find out what pain they were feeling, but that one thought of seeing Petra made my mind go blank.

" Easy now, McCall. You don't want to hurt the puppy even more. " , Dr. Deaton said.

I slowly nodded while trying to focus on removing the pain from the whimpering puppy. I took a couple of deep breaths before glancing at my arm to see the familiar black substance flow through the veins. I could only take the pain for so long, so I stopped before seeing the puppy yawn softly.

" Good. I think she will be much better tomorrow overnight. " , Dr. Deaton smiled slightly.

" I'm sorry for being distracted lately. It's been a tough time these past couple of days. " , I said before gently petting the puppy.

" Does it have to do anything with a girl? " , he asked me

" Maybe. " , I shrugged

" Scott, you can tell me. " , he assured me

" Well, I met this girl a couple of days ago. When I first met her, I thought she was a threat because she has these magical abilities, but it turns out that she wasn't a threat at all. " , I lightly chuckled. " Her name is Petra and she is quite a beauty with a cute personality. "

" Describe her. " , Dr. Deaton stated.

" Short, brown haired girl with green eyes and has a fair complexion. She is fiesty and outgoing, but can also be shy and gentle sometimes. " , I replied with a smile on my face.

" And you said that she had magical abilities? " , he raised his eyebrow

" Yeah. She is from an island called Neverland. She has magic and her abilities are amazing to witness with what she has shown me so far! " , I said excitingly.

" Hmm, I don't know anything about magic, but you must be very interested in this girl. " , he nodded

" Maybe I am interested in her. More than I should be. But I know that she is different and unique in a way that makes me eager to know more about her. " , I stated.

" All I ask is that you are to be careful, Alpha. Although this girl may seem playful, you never know what is capable of since you found out  that she has magic. " , Dr. Deaton advised me.

" I know. " , I sighed.

" Does she know that you are a werewolf? " , he asked me with concern.

" Yes. She also knows that Isaac is one as well. " , I informed him

" And you said that she lives in Neverland? " , he questioned me

" Yes. " , I confirmed

" I heard rumors about that island. There are talks of young teenage boys being kidnapped by the Piped Piper and then taken to that island and other talks of dark events that occur there. " , he recalled. " I advise that you keep your guard up, Alpha. "

" You know I always do. " , I nodded at him

My shift at the animal clinic ended and I drove back home. As usual, I heard the soft snores of my mother sleeping in her room which made me sigh in relief for her safety before I retired to my bedroom with my door closed.

I placed my backpack somewhere in my room before getting ready for the night. With my sweatpants and tank top on, I finished my hygiene routine and ended up sitting on my desk with a blank mind.

My eyes looked towards the bag of magic beans that Petra gave me. An idea popped into my head before I grabbed a sheet of paper and a writing utensil to start writing my letter.

It wasn't long before I finished my letter to Petra and made sure that I read it over and over to make sure that I wouldn't regret it. I took a deep breath before grabbing a magic bean from the bag and throwing it on the ground. A huge portal opened up with colorful spirals and that's when I started to second guess myself.

I sighed before throwing the paper to the portal and then watching it close up. I waited a few minutes before my yawn betrayed me.

It wasn't long before I fell asleep with the thought of Petra on my mind.
