Y/N's pov
The loud bell echoed through the school as students began shuffling around in their seats, packing their things.

"Hey! The bell doesn't dismiss you guys! I do!" Mr. Smith yelled.

Everyone continued to gather their things and rush out of the door. I sat in my seat with my arms folded waiting for consent to leave.

Mr. Smith nodded his head at me and smiled.

"You're a good kid Y/L/N," He pointed at me.

"Thanks," I chuckle.

I grab my old backpack and sighed heading for lunch.

Since I was new I haven't made any friends and although I did socialize with a few people they never invited me to sit with them. The feeling of having eyes staring down on me made my stomach turn.

Back at my old school I was never alone so this was all new. Everyone had already formed their own groups and I was just that one person that seemed lost.

I stepped in the busy lunch room watching everyone laugh and talk with their friends. I bet  many of these people were nice, but just didn't notice that I was lonely.

I held my hands together feeling whispers surround me as my eyes stared down at the yellow tiles.

I noticed a boy also sitting alone and thought  maybe we could talk. I mean if he says no what's the worst thing that could happen.

I think his name was Peter and I had only one class with him. He's pretty quiet in there too but he's definitely one of the smartest kids in the school.

I stood far back before approaching him and waited to see if anyone was going to talk to him. His arms folded as his head rested in them. My heart sunk as I could completely understand how he felt.

I casually walked over to him and set my things gently across from him. His head automatically picked up and he shot me this confused look.

"Yes?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"I w-was just wondering I-if I could umm...sit here," I stuttered feeling sweat build up in my palms.

His dark mischievous brown eyes stared into me as his lips creeped into a disgusted face.

"Really? Out of the entire lunch room you wanna sit here?" He snapped.

Ouch.

I thickly swallowed and automatically regretted even thinking about him. What an asshole, no wonder no one else is sitting with to him.

"O-Okay," I breathed heavy.

My eyes drifted away from his as I grabbed my things disappointed. Tears built up on the outline of my E/C eyes as my nose burned with embarrassment.

I wasn't just crying because of getting denied by him but it seemed like nothing was going right.

Ever since my mom has passed away I felt this emptiness but I always tried staying positive. She would've been proud that I at least attempted to make a friend.

"Are you crying?" Peter's voice softened a bit.

I hesitated to look back but my willpower forced me to pause and continue walking.
