11- A party?
This is the actual chapter :)
Judging by the criticising look Rhodey was giving him, Tony knew that he had went wrong in the plan somewhere. Hmm. Maybe it was the party where the mansion was going to be too crowded to see, or maybe the part where any unsuspected enemies will walk in instead, or maybe (just maybe) it's that one part where the whole party is just a trick to lure in a team of assassins, oh, and, said assassins are hiding and probably plotting some sort of plan of capture and attack. Nah, couldn't be the meaning of Rhodey's judgemental look.
Well, sure, Tony could barge into the sanctum right now and take all of them. They were only kids, after all. But this was more dramatic.
Rhodes may not like the idea, but Tony loves it. Party's are his specialty, after all. Plus, it would add no suspicion for the edgy teenage team to worry about. Everyone knows Tony's a go wild go crazy party animal, even tiny little kiddie assassins.
"Really, Tony? You're in danger and all you can think about is partying? Don't say I'm wrong when I say this isn't just for the plan," Rhodey said, perking one eyebrow up and still having eyes of judgement.
Tony raised his hands in surrender, "it's just for the plan! I swear. We're all gonna be on high alert. No fun."
Rhodey sighed, clapping his hands together and shaking his head, "and why can't you just go up to Strange and take the kids now?"
"Well, the author is doing this for plot reasons, I can't stop it," Tony shrugged.
"The auth- right. I'm going to stop you there and say you've gone crazy."
"Don't worry bout it, honey bear."
"That nickname, again?"
Tony smiled, "you love it."
Rhodey raised his eyebrows up in denial, whilst Tony smiled at him.
It was times like these that made life seem a worth while trying. Like it was all going to be okay, everything was normal, everything was fine. But the backstories behind these conversations are always the downfall of the happiness ahead.
Oh well, at least something always works out. Because in the end, Tony might end up with a son. That's if it all goes well.
The plan failing is a whole other story, for another day. But truth be told, Tony will never think of that story. The story where the villains win and the heroes lose. Yeah, that's a story everyone wants to keep deep in their minds.

The team looked at each other. Some with sceptical looks, others with 'its all we have' expressions, and some with bored faces.
The bored face being Rhodey, because he already listened to the whole plan.
The sceptical looks being Steve and Sam, who would of guessed.
"Tony, when you said party time at the base, I didn't think you meant this," Steve said, "this is no time for a party."
Tony blinked, "did you not just listen to a word I said after that?"
"I did."
"Then you'd understand the party part," Tony furrowed his eyebrows.
Steve pursed his lips and looked around the room, trying to avoid eye contact.
Tony's eyes narrowed. He shouldn't have expected anymore from Steve other than a simple sceptical look of disappointment.
Sure, Steve is a great teammate. A good man with a good heart. But sometimes...maybe even more than sometimes, he just wants to make Tony SNAP (heh, snap. Like in avengers endgame.....I'll go now).
Tony sighed and clicked his tongue, "got any other ideas, captain?"
"Look, Tony-" Sam started, but didn't finish as Tony cut him off.
"No no, I wanna hear this. Because he's captain America, right? Oh hail the great lord!"
Steve sat in silence, pursing his lips together. The rest of the team was surprised at this sudden attitude of Tony, it didn't seem like him...
Tony shook his head, looking down. It seemed like he was whispering something...but it was inaudible, no one could decipher what he was saying.
"Tony, I'm not saying it was a bad idea, and I'm not trying to imply my ideas are better. All I'm saying is that it's dangerous. This plan...a party, a house full of people, we would have to be alert. It's too much when we could just go over there right now..." Steve explained, his voice soft and not....stern, or obnoxious. Just little old caring Steve.
"I know that."
Sam huffed, "Then why are we making a big deal about this."
Both Steve and Tony seemed to have ignored Sam, and looked at each other instead.
"You sure you up for this? We have to be alert, together and prepared at all times," Steve asked.
Tony nodded in confirmation, "sure am. Plus I'm excited for a little catch up with my son."
Steve blinked...and again, "erm?"
Tony smiled and walked away.
Steve looked around the room, for any sign of explanation from the team, "uhm?"
"Classic Tony," Natasha smiled.
"Yeah...classic Tony."
