You Killed Him, Rogers
It had been a year since it happened. A year since Captain Rogers left his shield buried in Tony Stark's arc reactor. A year since Peter had found him dead in that cold Siberian bunker. No one was able to reach the man in time, and his spare reactor had been crushed in the fight. The shrapnel had entered Tony's heart, and he died.
Now, one year after his death, the Rogues were returning to the tower. A certain spidery owner and CEO of SI sat in one of the chairs gathered around the large table in the center of the meeting room. Behind the spiderling, a tall, black man with an eye patch stood, a woman by the name of Hill next to the black man. The Rogues were due to enter the room any second, their seats waiting for them at the opposite end of the table. The young CEO couldn't and wouldn't deal with his father-figure's murder and said muderer's friends so close to him.
Soon, only five minutes later, the door opened and in walked the murderer himself, followed by two people named after birds, two assassins, a panther, and an ant man. The Rogues froze, confused by the sight of the 15 year old boy at the other end of the table. The aforementioned 15 year old was giving them a glare scarier than the famous Bat Glare, not even saying a word.
Scared of the glare, but filled with false confidence that the glaring boy couldn't injure them even if he tried, the Rogues sat down in their respectively labeled seats. Sam scoffed, thinking that if the boy dared try to attack, then Fury and the others would take care of him. The Rogues didn't quite realize how wrong they were.
"Who's the kid?" Steve said, haughtily.
"I'm the owner and CEO of Stark Industries." At the spider's response, the Rogues laughed.
"Yeah, right, kid. You one of his charity cases or a result of a one night stand?" Sam scoffed.
"Neither." Peter was now seething in anger. Noticing this, Fury, surprisingly, placed a hand on the boy's shoulder in an attempt to calm him.
"Captain Rogers, Rogues, I wouldn't push Mr. Parker much further. He can and will take you all down. I won't hold him back, either," Fury threatened. Ignoring Fury's warning, which was a very stupid idea, Steve decided he wanted some answers.
"Where's Stark? Is he hungover? Fury, is Stark making this kid hold our meeting because he's got a bad hangover?" Steve asked. The spies and assassins wisely chose to shut up, unlike the blonde supersoldier. If Peter's glare wasn't scary then, it sure was now, taking on a fearsome mix of Natasha's glare, Pepper's glare, and the Bat Glare.
"My dad is dead. You should know, you were the one who killed him. You killed him for no reason! He didn't go there to kill Barnes, he went there to take Barnes to Wakanda and undo Hydra's brainwashing! He was going to get the Winter Soldier out of Barnes! Barnes attacked him! Mr. Stark was only defending himself against Barnes! If you would've taken a minute to ask what was going on, you'd know and my dad would still be alive! But no, you just had to kill him!" Peter paused and took a breath before continuing, "Before you killed him, he was sober for seven months. He hadn't touched a drink in seven months when he died. He stopped drinking for me, he wanted to be there for me. You took my dad from me." Peter's voice remained cold, anger piercing the emotionless tone when he mentioned Steve killing Tony.
The other Rogues, who possessed an IQ over 10, knew that Steve had screwed up. They knew that he was in deep trouble, but the idiot wouldn't stop no matter how hard they tried to get him to do so. It was obvious to all but one in the room that the spider was about to punch someone.
"Your dad? So you're a result of one of his one-night stands, huh?" The aforementioned idiot was asking to be punched, and Peter delivered, socking him in the nose and breaking it. Blood gushed out of the broken nose and the Rogues looked on in shock. Sure, they expected Steve to get hit, but they didn't expect the hit to actually affect him.
"Tony was my father-figure. He took me in after my last living relative died in my arms, just like my previous father-figure did." With that, Peter turned and stormed out of the room to destroy some punching bags, leaving behind a room of shocked Rogues.
"Did I mention that he is Spider-Man?" Fury asked rhetorically, following the spiderling out of the room.
"Friday, please send Peter our apologies," Natasha requested, knowing better than to approach an angry spider.
"Peter says that you, Mr. Barton, Mr. Barnes, Ms. Maximoff, Mr. Lang, and King T'Challa may wait for him on the common floor. Captain Rogers and Mr. Wilson are to leave immediately after Captain Rogers's nose is set." Friday didn't mention the fact that Fury and 20 other SHIELD agents were waiting for Steve and Sam outside. Sam was going to be in a safe house on house arrest for 5 years, not allowed to go outside for the first 2 years. Steve, on the other hand, was going to be locked up in the Raft for 10 years and then placed on 10 years of house arrest followed by 10 years of parol, and the loss of his hero role, for the murder of Tony Stark, Verbal Abuse of a Minor, Harrassment of a Minor, and a bunch of other charges that Fury thought applicable to Steve.
Sam apologized profusely for his remark about Tony, and was eventually allowed to live in the Tower after 8 years. Steve was "accidentally forgotten" in the Raft by Fury, and remained there for 20 years before Fury "remembered" after having the unlocking mechanism disabled. It took 10 years to fix it and Steve was released, only to be locked in a small house for another 10 years before going on his 10 years of parole. He never saw Peter or the other Rogues again.
