Why is Mjolnir in my backpack?
Tony, Clint, and Thor want to see if Peter is worthy, so they decide that it's a good idea to put Thor's hammer in Peter's backpack to see if he can lift it. They forget, however, that a sleep-deprived Peter doesn't notice much unless it triggers his spidey sense. Just FYI, Peter lives in the tower.
3rd Person POV
Peter was sleep-deprived. He'd been up all night for the past two nights working on homework and Spider-manning. So, when said sleep-deprived teen put his school supplies in his backpack and picked it up, leaving the tower, he didn't notice the large war belonging to a certain god of thunder in the aforementioned backpack. The spies and super soldiers who were awake had noticed the hammer and were staring, jaws dropped. A billionaire, watching the video feed via Friday in his lab, copied the spies and soldiers.
When Peter got to Happy's Audi, the head of security just gaped at him, having noticed the hammer's handle sticking out of his backpack. As Peter got in the backseat, Happy chose not to comment, seeing how tired the teen was. Unfortunately, Peter had walked out of the tower late and didn't have time to meet up with Ned or MJ before class started, but did manage to avoid a run-in with Flash.
No one commented on the handle sticking out of Peter's bag, assuming it was part of a project for another class. Flash just scoffed at it, but kept his mouth shut as they were in Mr. Harrington's class and Mr. Harrington was the only teacher not afraid to give Flash a detention. In his second period, he saw Ned, who also noticed Mjolnir's handle, but he decided to wait until lunchtime to say anything seeing as their teacher was very strict and loved to hand out detentions to talking students.
Peter's other classes went on similarly, no one mentioning the handle of Thor's hammer sticking out of the backpack. Once lunchtime rolled around, Peter made a beeline for the cafeteria and sat down at MJ's table, trusting that Ned would get food for him and MJ as well since he saw how tired Peter was. Parker's theory proved true, as Ned came over, somehow balancing three trays of food. MJ took her tray from Ned, allowing him to set Peter's tray in front of him.
"Hey, loser, what's that sticking out of your bag?" MJ asked. Peter looked confused, but a glance at his bag showed the handle of Mjolnir. He unzipped his bag and grabbed it, proving it was, in fact, Mjolnir in his bag.
"Why is Mjolnir in my backpack?" Peter, in his tired state, forgot he was holding a hammer that only Thor and Vision could lift. MJ's eyes slightly widened at the sight of the brunette holding the mythical war hammer, while Ned gasped and nearly fainted. Flash, who had heard Peter's question, sauntered over.
"Wow, Penis, did you make a replica of Thor's hammer? Too bad it isn't the real one!" As Flash finished, he snatched the hammer out of Peter's hand and it dropped, landing right on Flash's foot. An audible snap was heard when the hammer struck.
"Aah! Get this thing the hell off of my foot!" Flash was now sobbing in pain, trying to push the hammer off his foot. Peter simply picked the hammer up while MJ, surprisingly, laughed. A teacher, who had heard Flash's foot break, rushed over to see what was going on.
"He hit me in the foot with that replica of Thor's hammer!" Flash yelled through his sobs of pain.
"This isn't a replica, it's the real thing. If you don't believe me, then you can try to lift it. Flash saw the hammer and tried to take it from me, but before I could tell him it wasn't a replica, he snatched it out of my hand and it fell on his foot because he isn't worthy." Peter was now more awake and pushed through his internal disbelief and fangirling that he was worthy to wield Thor's hammer and had been carrying it around for half the day in order to defend himself. The teacher, though he looked like he didn't believe Peter, decided to humor him.
"Alright, put it down." Peter complied and the teacher attempted to lift the war hammer. It didn't budge. The teacher had another come and help him try to lift it. Again, the hammer didn't budge. He got others to try and Mjolnir still didn't budge. By this time, Peter had texted Tony and told him what was happening, lectured him on having Thor put his hammer in Peter's backpack, and demanded that the billionaire come to the school, with Thor, to pick up the hammer.
"This isn't funny, Peter. Turn the magnet off." The teacher actually thought that Peter had magnetically attached the hammer to the floor, though a magnet of that strength would've broken through the floor until it reached the metal frame of the building. The nurse had already brought a wheelchair and wheeled Flash to the nurse's office.
"Sir, there is no magnet on the hammer. It really is Mjolnir, Thor's hammer. Mr. Odinson must've accidentally dropped it in my backpack last night and I didn't notice. It had to have happened while I was in the lab working with Mr. Stark," Peter attempted to justify himself.
"Mr. Parker, I have had enough of your internship lie. At first, I thought it was a rumor but I now know that it was you who was spreading this lie. Come on, we're going to the principal's office." The teacher grabbed Peter's arm and was about to start physically dragging Peter to the principal's office when a window shattered. In flew a now angry Iron Man, who swiftly landed and exited the metal suit.
"What do you think you're doing with my personal intern? Last time I checked, it was illegal for a teacher to touch a student and is considered sexual assault on a minor." Peter wasn't too sure about that last part but figured that Tony knew what he was talking about.
"P-personal i-intern, Dr. Stark? This student has been lying about having an internship and even brought a replica of Thor's hammer to school, claiming it was authentic. I was about to escort him to the principal's office and demand he be expelled for his lies." Oh no, this teacher screwed up.
"Well, you just heard me call the kid my personal intern, and I wouldn't even be here if he were a liar, as you claim. Also, Point Break over there calling his hammer to him proves that the hammer Peter had was the real deal, so what has Peter done wrong?" While the teacher had been talking, Thor walked into the cafeteria and had just put his hand out and called his hammer when Tony pointed him out. The teacher had obviously forgotten that he was talking to an angry billionaire in "overprotective dad mode," as the Avengers called it, when they next spoke.
"He purposely struck another student with the hammer. He will probably be expelled for this, hopefully, as he is an useless orphan, and we'll be rid of him." If Tony hadn't been livid before, he definitely was now. The man was practically emitting an aura that threatened death.
"I can assure you that Peter did no thing and that the student he was falsely accused of assaulting has actually been bullying Peter ever since his freshman year and no one has done anything about it. I will be bringing a lawsuit against this school and you will let Peter go without punishment as it is Eugene Thompson's fault that his foot is broken. He is the one who took the hammer from Peter, causing it to drop on his foot." Yes, Tony knew of the bullying. He had seen the security footage and asked Friday when Flash had first started bullying Peter. In response, she had pulled up a video from the first day of Peter's freshman year.
"We can't do that, Mr. Thompson's parents are large funders of the school and will pull their funding if we take any disciplinary action against Mr. Thompson." Tony was done with this. He had his suit grab Peter, Ned, and MJ's backpacks.
"Well, I will be suing you for the sum of 4 million dollars for Peter's injuries sustained from Flash's bullying and your failure to do anything. You will lose this school and I will purchase it in order to keep Peter's favorite school open. Any teacher that ignored Flash's bullying will be fired, including you." Tony then had his suit engulf him, picked up Peter and MJ, and took off as Thor, who had remained oddly silent, grabbed Ned and they took off through the broken window.
Later, Ned and MJ were able to try to lift the hammer. Ned was able to budge it, like Steve had, while MJ just passed. Tony Stark, however lived up to his threat and won the lawsuit. The first thing he did with his new school was expel Eugene "Flash" Thompson and make sure no other school in the world would accept Flash, even preschools.
