PPPS ASSEMBLE! (request)

I went to Target, but they were out of Marvel, so I still don't own it.

This was a request by @WolfStarT07. I hope you enjoy!!

Warnings: probably non-canon compliant in places.

It was a hard fight.

A man, calling himself the Demon, had some kind of magic that controlled people's minds. It was like Wanda's power in a way. Where Wanda could read minds and influence thoughts, he could get into someone's mind and control their actions entirely.

The only people who were able to fight him were Tony and Wanda. Tony had long ago put magic blockers in his suit against both Wanda's and Loki's form of magic. Luckily, the man's power was close enough to Wanda's that he couldn't control Tony while he was in the suit. Wanda was mostly immune to the power because of the similarities.

As they were fighting, trying their hardest not to hurt the mind-controlled civilians, Spiderman swung onto the scene. Tony cursed.

"Kid! Go back, you can't help with this one!" Tony yelled, hoping Peter would listen.

He didn't.

Peter swung right up to the man and dropped down in front of him. The man had been letting his Magic run over his fingers as he looked for another victim. When Spidey appeared in front of him, The Demon glanced at him, sighed, and dropped his hands.

"Kid, I'm not going to hurt you," The Demon said, "but I'm trying to do something right now, so..."

Peter tilted his head. "And I'm trying to stop you."

The Demon looked at him for a minute, ignoring the fighting still occurring between the civilians and the heroes, then waved his hand. The mind-controlled citizens dropped to the ground, then slowly started to wake back up. The Demon let Peter web him up as Tony approached.

"Uh...kid? What did you do?" Tony asked as the police took the Demon away.

Peter shrugged, "I just said I was gonna try and stop him, and he stopped."

Tony blinked. "No. I want a full description, word for word. That can't be what happened."

"He said, 'I'm trying to do something right now,' and I said, 'And I'm trying to stop you,' and then he just stared at me and stopped," Peter said.

Tony decided to let it slide. Something else was at play here, but the bad guy was caught and that's all he cared about just then. What he didn't know was that this was the start of a very weird few months.

———

Two months later, and Peter had somehow stopped every villain they crossed without ever touching them. The most notable time occurred just three days ago.

"Hey person, lets just talk it out, okay?" Spidey called as he dropped into the scene.

The woman dropped the weird gun thing she was holding and turned to him. "Okay, Spidey. What's up?"

Peter stopped. "I didn't actually expect that to work."

The woman laughed. "Yeah, I'm sure."

"Ummm. I guess I want to know why you are doing this." Peter asked, since the woman seemed to be cooperating.

The woman thought for a minute. The other Avengers stayed far away, confused with the situation, but pretty sure something bad would happen if they approached. The bad guys seemed reluctant at least to hurt Peter, but had no such qualms about the other Avengers.

"There are lots of reasons, lots of things that led up to this, but I guess the easiest one to explain is that these people," she waved her hand towards the Avengers, "have caused me a lot of pain, and I want them to know what it's like. It's not the only reason, and not even the best reason, but I don't want to burden you with all that."

Peter sat down on the rooftop they were both on, and patted the ground next to him. "I have time."

The woman had sat down and spent an hour chatting with Peter, telling him about her kid who died when one of the Avengers didn't bother to clear the area before they toppled a building onto the villain they were fighting. She told him about her financial troubles and how she was being payed some pretty big money to take down the Avengers by HYDRA. She listened to Peter talk about losing his family. They chatted about the woman's dreams to live a peaceful and happy life that just never seemed to work out. And when the chat was done, the woman—her name was Drew, as she'd revealed to Peter—turned herself in in exchange for a lighter sentence.

Tony had decided it was time to approach the kid about it. He was the only one who knew Peter's identity, so he was the one who went to talk to him on behalf of the Avengers.

"Okay, kid. I need answers. What's up with you and all the villains?" Tony walked into Peter's apartment and plopped down on the kid's bed, waiting patiently for an answer.

Peter threw his head back from his seat in his desk chair and stared at the ceiling. "It's kind of hard to explain," he started, looking back at Tony. "I guess it started after homecoming. You know how Toomes knows my identity?"

Tony nodded.

"Well, he didn't spread my identity, per say, but he told pretty much everyone in the villain circles that I was young. They know my identity now anyways, but we'll get to that. From what I can tell, he didn't actually tell them to leave me alone, they just all collectively decided to not hurt me after I was already crushed under a warehouse once."

Tony opened his mouth, but Peter continued. "I mean, the villains...they aren't actually totally evil. Not many people are. They all have something making them do the stuff they do, and a lot of the time, if you talk to them, they don't mind trying to find a new way to work through their problems."

"I mean, sometimes it takes a bit of convincing, but all you really have to do is convince them you are on their side, and they'll be glad to let you help them through whatever it is." Peter said. He looked at Tony, who seemed to be deep in thought.

"Well," Tony started, "I don't see a problem with it."

"Good!" Peter smiled. "Because some of them are coming over for a game night and I thought you might like to join us since you're already here."

Tony choked. "Game night?"

"Mhm!" Peter nodded excitedly. "Just stay. Alicia and her kid will be here soon."

As if on cue, while Tony was stuttering about villains and game nights, the doorbell rang. Pete got up and welcomed a dark haired young woman holding a baby who looked no older than a year old. Tony vaguely recognized her as the Dark Storm, who had tried to turn the world into an eternal stormy night.

"Hi, Alicia. Hi, Mikey!" Peter greeted, taking the baby from Alicia's arms and cooing softly at him. The baby giggled.

Alicia noticed Tony, and waved. "Are you joining us?"

Tony nodded slowly. "Apparently."

"Glad to hear it," she said. "We love these nights, and your kid is so sweet."

Peter blushed. "I've already told you, he's not my d—"

"He is, isn't he?" Tony smiled proudly, cutting off Peter's protests.

Peter blushed harder in response and went off with the baby still in his arms, muttering about setting games up. Alicia laughed and joined Tony, where he was now sitting on the couch, and started chatting. By 6:00, the apartment was full of former villains, greeting Peter, chatting to Tony, or helping set up a junk food style meal to eat while they played.

As they played through a mountain of games—avoiding Monopoly because of Garry, who apparently got stressed easily when people started yelling at each other about cheating, which was inevitable in Monopoly—Tony realized that these people were just people, just like anyone else. That night started his transformation into a new kind of hero. He stopped fighting villains directly, and instead did his best to encourage them to talk while strictly defending himself, never going on the offense. He and Peter became a team, and the most loved heroes by citizens and villains alike. Crime rates and villain attacks dropped steeply as they decided to open game night to anyone who was having a hard time or considering resorting to crime. Tony opened a non-profit dedicated to giving free counseling and financial advice to anyone who needed it.

The legacy of Ironman and Spider-Man became one of peace, all because Peter was too sweet to hurt.

The End.

I hope you enjoyed that! I liked writing it; it was an awesome prompt. Thank you!

Bye!
