Platonic and romantic (request)

My mom doesn't know about my quest to own Marvel, because if she did she would say something like, "You need to own Marvel like you need a hole in your head." I think I'm good without a hole in my head today, so I don't own Marvel.

Soulmates were weird.

Peter knew two things about soulmates.

One, the sort of dulled emotions in the back of his chest belonged to his platonic soulmate. That kind of worried him, because as long as he could remember, the most common emotion his soulmate felt was a sort of crushing sadness. He used to hope when they met he could help them feel happier. After finding out Tony Stark was his soulmate, he was glad that he did seem to make the genius billionaire happier.

Two, the mark on his lower back was the first place his romantic soulmate would touch him. The marks usually were something related to your soulmate, and as soon as they touched they mark, it would heat up. Peter's mark was shaped like a gear.

Peter remembered the time he found out Tony was his platonic soulmate. They had both been in the lab when Peter dropped some non-harmful chemicals.

"Dang it!" Peter sighed, blinking back tears. He shouldn't be this upset over dropping some chemicals, but he'd had a bad day. He was so close to just sobbing his eyes out. His soulmate seemed to have noticed and was attempting to push calm and happy emotions through their bond.

Tony glanced over. "Kid, are you okay?"

Peter broke down. Tony's eyes widened and he ran to comfort the teen, pulling him into his arms and whispering softly to him. After Peter had calmed down, Tony mentioned something.

"Kid? Do you think—this might be weird—but do you think we could be soulmates? It's harder to tell with platonic soulmates, but when you started crying there, my soulmate's sadness spiked." Tony held tight to the kid as he tried to pull away.

"I-I don't know. We could t-test it?" Peter sniffed, relaxing into the embrace again.

Tony smiled. Peter noticed the rush of happiness and amusement in the back of his head. "Okay. I'll try and get angry at something. I'll probably just think of Cap, and you tell me if you feel it."

Peter nodded. When Tony had said 'Cap,' the emotions in the back of his head turned darker and more angry. When Tony stopped talking and concentrated on being angry, the feeling grew.

"Yeah. I could feel that!" Peter squeezed the man, and relished in the joy that spread through his bond, letting him know Tony wasn't at all disappointed in the development.

Platonic soulmates were tricky. Some people never found theirs. Peter was very glad he was lucky enough to have met his.

Peter shook off thoughts of soulmates as he realized he was going to be late to the bus if he didn't get going now. He ran to the bathroom and brushed his teeth, ran a hand through his hair, and dashed out, yelling a goodbye to May as he went.

The entire rest of the day he was jittery. Tony had texted him last night to say there was someone he wanted Peter to meet. They would be there when Peter went to the tower for lab time, and Peter was both nervous and excited.

Finally, the last bell rung and Peter rushed to the limo waiting for him in the back lot.

"Hi, Happy! I'm so excited—"

Happy rolled up the divider.

"Sure, be like that. Honestly, do you leave the divider down just so you can roll it up when in get in to make a point?" Peter mumbled as he rushed through his homework so it would be done by the time he got to the tower.

Happy pulled up outside of the tower, and Peter was gone, yelling out "Bye, Happy!" as he made his way to the elevator.

"Hello, Peter. Boss would like you to come to the lab." FRIDAY greeted him.

"Hey, Fri! Thanks! Can you take me to him?" Peter bounced on the balls of his feet, nervous energy taking over him. The elevator door slid open, and Peter rushed out.

"Hey, Mr. Stark—" Peter noticed the boy right next to Mr. Stark. He was...gorgeous. He had dirty blond hair swept over his forehead and blue eyes. Peter blushed and walked closer.

The boy smiled. "Hiya! I'm Harley."

Peter stumbled as he noticed the southern accent. Unfortunately, he was close enough to the other boy that he stumbled right into him. Peter's hand landed on the boy's collarbone as he tried to stop himself from falling. Harley placed a hand in his lower back to steady him. Peter froze as he felt the warmth in his back, right where his mark should be. Harley raised his free hand to where Peter was touching Harley's collarbone and pressed down on Peter's hand, moving it so Peter's hand was lying over his heart.

Peter noted that the other boy's heart was racing.

"Hey." Peter whispered.

"Hey, yourself." Harley whispered back.

Tony glanced between the two. "Yep. I'm leaving. Have fun, but not too much!" Tony left.

Peter blushed furiously and ducked his head into Harley's chest as Harley gave a nervous chuckle. Suddenly, they both seemed to notice they were still holding on to each other, and took several steps back.

"Hey." Peter waved.

"Yeah, we've said that, sweetheart." Harley chuckled.

After a few more awkward moments, they calmed down and realized that they fit really well. They're personalities were different, but they had similar ideals. After an hour of talking, and a few more hours of movie watching until Peter fell asleep, Tony came back.

"Harley." Tony greeted quietly, careful not to wake his sleeping platonic soulmate on Harley's chest.

"Hey, old man." Harley whispered, his arms around Peter.

"I can sense his emotions. If you ever hurt him, I'll know." Tony warned. "So don't do it."

Harley smiled softly at the sleeping teen in his arms. "I don't think I could."

Tony softened. "He loves you. Already. I can feel his emotions. He's head over heels."

Harley grinned brightly. "I am too."

The End.

I hope you enjoyed!!

Bye!
