Peter and Bucky (request)

I found a book we wrote in 8th grade to keep memories...I was a weird 8th grader. I didn't own Marvel back then, and I still don't.

This was a request by TBSAAHAY123 I hope you enjoy! (I couldn't see the link to Pinterest for some reason, so I can't do that one, but thanks for the request, anyways!)

Warnings: I have no clue.

"Did I tell you I love your metal arm? It's so cool. Is it calibrated to be equal strength to your other arm, or is it stronger? It would probably be easier to make it stronger. The combination of the metal and the force behind the prosthetic would make it pack a pretty strong punch, but if you don't equalize the force behind the metal arm and your actual arm, you could make the result be pretty much the same on either arm. That doesn't really matter, though, because I'm pretty sure you would want it to be stronger. Oh! Does it-"

"Kid. Shut up."

Peter clamped his mouth shut, pretending to zip it shut and throw away the key. Bucky gave him a fond smile.

"The arm is stronger." Bucky said after a few minutes.

Peter grinned. "I thought so."

They were walking though Brooklyn, Bucky pointing out things that had stayed the same, and Peter occasionally mentioning things that were newer.

"You take after your dad a lot, you know." Bucky side-glanced at the kid.

Peter sighed. "Tony's not my-"

"Not Tony, though you are a lot like him too, but your biological dad."

Peter froze. He hadn't thought much about his dad before. He had lost his parents when he was 6, so he didn't know them very well. "You-you knew my dad?"

Bucky steered them into a small cafe that had been there for over 100 years. He gently guided a shell-shocked Peter to a stool and sat down next to him.

"Mhm. We met during one of my missions for HYDRA. He was a SHIELD scientist." Bucky ordered a hot chocolate for the kid and a black coffee for himself when the waitress came. "I was supposed to take some of the files he was working on. He talked my ear off and distracted me until some agents showed up and I had to leave."

Peter's eyes were wide as he listened.

"That's all I know about him, but I remember what he looked like and sounded like. You look almost exactly the same, but your nose is different, and your eyes are bigger and a different color." Bucky kept talking since Peter seemed a little to overwhelmed to do so. "He asked about my arm too. Basically the same questions. He also asked whether the prosthetic was attached to my nervous system because that would mean-"

"You could feel pain in your arm." Peter mumbled.

"Yep." Bucky grinned and ruffled the kid's curly brown hair.

"Thanks for that." Peter smiled at the ex-assassin, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I don't know a lot about him; anything I can get is amazing."

Bucky nodded. They sat in silence until they finished their drinks, then Peter jumped up. "Okay. Let's go! There's a renovated movie theatre down the block, and I want to check it out."

Bucky followed the energetic teen to the theatre and listened to his adorable ramblings about angles and lighting. Apparently Peter had a passion for photography, and it occasionally slipped into his love for movies.

Bucky pulled Peter away from the theatre after a while, dragging him to an arcade that had been there when he was a kid.

They played around on the games, Bucky showing Peter some old-school hacks: things like where to hit the machines to make you win. Peter won a giant frog that he named Fred.

As they headed home on Bucky's motorcycle, Peter had to force himself to stay awake. Bucky parked outside the tower and carried Peter inside, setting the sleepy teen down on the couch to watch a movie. Peter fell asleep only ten minutes in.

---

Later that night, Bucky had left, and Peter was awake again, sitting in the Stark Tower living room.

"Hey, kid." Tony whispered. He had come up from an engineering binge to see the teen sitting on the couch starting at nothing. "How was your day with Bucky?"

Peter grinned brightly. "It was good. He told me a bit about my dad. Apparently they had met before."

Tony wrapped his kid in a hug. "That's good. I'm glad you know more about him. I know what that means to you."

Peter hugged back and relaxed. Even if he didn't know much about his dad, he had Tony, and after today, he thinks he could count Bucky as part of his family as well.

That's it!

I hope you enjoyed! I went a direction I wasn't entirely expecting for that one, but I liked it.

Bye!
