Percy Jackson?
This isn't really an update, but it has part of a story included, so read on.
I was wondering if I wrote a Percy Jackson and Spider-Man crossover with PercyxPeter, if any of you would read it. The summary is:
"Peter Parker was never normal. That's why it didn't surprise him to find out that he was actually a Demi-god. Between school, superhero-ing, and finding his place in a world of Greek and Roman mythology, he doesn't have a lot of time for anything else.
Percy Jackson, on the other hand, has plenty of time to try and get the oblivious and adorable Peter to notice him."
I have already written a prologue sort of chapter, included below, and the first chapter.
"Prologue: It's a Little Hard to Read While Being Attacked.
There was only one thing that could make Peter feel stupid.
Reading.
His dyslexia made the words and letters swim over the page, jumping out of place and switching spots with each other. It was like his brain wanted him to fail.
Normally, Peter wouldn't be reading at all. He hated having to squint and concentrate and guess what everything was saying. It didn't help that he had the concentration of a goldfish, and he kept getting distracted. However, he had an English quiz over the reading they were supposed to do last night while Peter was out web-slinging and fighting crime.
The man sitting next to him on the subway leaned over his shoulder to see what Peter was reading. "Oh! Fahrenheit 451! That's a good book. What do you think?"
Peter grumbled. "I don't know. I'm dyslexic. I hate all books."
The man blinked and leaned away. Peter felt a little bad for being irritable with the stranger, but then again, he was a teenager. It was to be expected. As Peter tried to refocus on the page-he'd lost his spot, so he had to find the part about burning the books with a woman or something-which took way too much effort for Peter's liking, the subway shook slightly and his Spidey-senses went off.
Peter looked up, instantly on alert. It wasn't unusual for him to be attacked by random monster things, even before he became Spider-Man. He scanned the car, looking for something unusual. He spotted a woman sitting a little further down, casting glances his way every now and again. She looked mostly normal, but Peter caught a glimpse of a snake-like tongue that made him shiver.
He looked back at his book, not even bothering to try and read it anymore. He would just have to accept that he was going to fail the quiz. When the subway pulled up, thankfully at his stop, he did his best to seem causal as he walked out.
It didn't work. The woman followed Peter all the way to an alley in front of his school, where he ducked in and waited for the confrontation.
After a quick fight, where Peter left the woman webbed up securely, he ran to his first class. Sliding into the room just as the bell rung, he gave an apologetic smile to his homeroom teacher and sat down."
It would have really slow updates since I'd be writing closer to full sized chapters (the first chapter is roughly 2,000 words), but this book would keep going at roughly the same pace.
Just an idea. I'm not a huge PJO fan, but I like the series and I like reading crossovers of it. Comment if you want me to publish it. <3
Thanks!
Bye!
