Ink (request)

So, this was requested a while ago, and I haven't gotten the chance to get to it. I am almost done with my online AP exams, only one more to go, so I'm writing this to de-stress and because studying for exams and doing online school means that I haven't updated in a while. Anyways, COVID-19 is doing nothing to help with letting me own Marvel, so I still don't.

This was requested, but it was requested as a message, and I can't respond to those because for some reason Wattpad won't let me confirm my email, even though they have the right one... So if you've messaged me recently, I can't respond, but yes, I do take requests, and yes I'll do the requests you asked for, and yes it can be anonymous. :) I don't know if the person who requested this wanted it to be anonymous, but since they messaged, it's going to be just in case.

Warnings: Not so innocent Peter...

This was not going to go well. Everything was just sunshine and daisies until Mr. Stark had invited Peter to an "Avengers Pool Party." Now, the teenager was pacing around Ned's room, shirtless, and trying to figure out how to hide the tattoos scrawled across his body from a couple of super-spies and two certified geniuses.

"Just...get a swim shirt." MJ furrowed her brows, trying to figure out what the big deal was.

"MJ!" Peter turned to her, jaw dropped, eyes wide. "That's genius! I just can't believe...that you thought I didn't think of that already."

Ned snorted. "He said he can't get a swim shirt because, and I quote 'they're the Avengers, I can't look like a nerd!'"

"Oh, Peter." MJ smirked. "When will you learn...you already are."

Peter glared at his friends.

Ned slowly started ushering Peter our the door. "Look, they love you; you are their family. They'll understand when you explain it. And you're gonna be late if you don't leave now."

"Alright." Peter shrugged on an over sized T-shirt, and hugged his best friend. "See ya."

———

"Kid!"

Tony suddenly appeared at Peter's side the second he got to the party. The other Avengers and their families were all mingling around the pool, or already swimming. Everyone knew Tony couldn't stand water, so he was staying away from the actual pool.

"Come on," Tony smiled, slinging his arm over his mentee's shoulders. "Take off your shirt and go swimming. Burgers will be soon."

"Umm, actually Mr. Stark..." Peter shifted nervously. "I need to tell you something."

Tony, for once, seemed to sense the seriousness of the situation and pulled Peter to a side room, out of hearing range of even the super soldiers. "What's up, bud?"

Peter nervously tugged on the hen of his shirt, finally lifting it up and taking it off in one fell swoop.

"Peter..." Mr. Stark's voice was carefully controlled.

"I can explain!"

"You had better! One minute. Go." Mr. Stark checked his watch with clear, dramatic movements.

"I got the first one the day after Ben died. May knows about that. It's the one on my collarbone that says 'with great power come great responsibility.' Uncle Ben has been talking about getting a tattoo, and this was his favorite phrase, and his last words to me. It seemed fitting." Peter rushed out, shrugging at the end.

"And the other one?" Tony raised an eyebrow, glancing over the complicated design of flowers, wires, gears, and spiders that decorated his right shoulder and upper arm.

"I just thought it looked cool, and May said I could." Peter shrugged and grinned, entirely unrepentant.

"Alright, but you are dealing with the rest of the family when they see that." Tony smiled and pulled his kid out to the party again.

The Avengers reacted entirely predictably. Natasha acted like she knew all along, then pulled him aside and interrogated him as soon as no one was looking. Steve gave a well-argued lecture about tattoos, but stopped when Peter pointed out that he already had them, so it was kind of pointless to tell him it was wrong. Then he accepted it and admired the artwork. Bruce was chill about it, and Thor seemed to expect nothing less, telling tales of the tattoos he had seen on warriors in Asgard and wondering why no one else had any. Clint just asked him where he got it done, and then walked away to 'make an important phone call.'

And Peter? Peter was just happy to be a part of the family.

Hope you enjoyed! Sorry it's short, but I'm going to catch up on my lack of sleep now, so...

Bye!
