WARNINGS: mysterious baby acquisition (methods not mentioned), implied make-out

Tony knew something was going on with Peter, but he couldn't figure it out. The kid was hardly a kid anymore, so he didn't come around as often, but he was acting weird. The other day, he could have sworn he saw Peter packing a diaper bag.

"Don't worry, I'll be there soon." Peter comforted whoever was on the other line. His phone had rung in the middle of an Avengers meeting, and instead of being responsible and silencing his phone, he answered it and immediately started packing to leave.

"---milk---burn his tongue---too cold---" crackled from the other end of the phone, the caller obviously distressed.

"Put the milk in the microwave for a few seconds, and then check it on your wrist. It should be comfortably lukewarm." Peter soothed. He grabbed a bag from the side of the room and started digging through it. Tony could have sworn he saw a bottle and a few diapers in it. "Don't forget to put him on your shoulder and pat his back after--you won't hurt him, I promise."

He pulled the phone away from his ear slightly and sent the group an apologetic smile, "Got to go, sorry."

He was out the door before Steve could say, "Wait!"

"Hey, Mr. Stark!" Peter walked into the common room for movie night. "Hi, Cap, Nat, Barton, Dr. Bruce Banner, sir. 'Sup, Thor."

"Hey, kid, come sit down, we--what is that?" Nat sounded more shocked than Peter had ever seen her, and he instantly turned around to try and find the threat.

"No, on your neck."

"Oh," Peter shrugged, "It's a hickey."

"Good one, kid." Clint laughed, "What is it actually?"

Peter gave the now laughing group a strange look and said nothing.

"Seriously kid, too cute." Steve smiled. "It's okay to be single."

"I'm...I'm not, though?"

"Good joke, kiddo. Almost got me." Tony ruffled his hair affectionately, not allowing Peter to respond as he directed attention to the movie.

-----------------------------------------

The Avengers Family Dinner (trademark pending) was in full swing. Even the newer members were around. Wanda and Vision were happily chatting with Scott and the Barton kids were running wild with Cassie.

Peter was hanging with Mr. Stark, Dr. Banner, and Dr. Strange, discussing the multiverse.

"I'm just saying that it's possible. I mean, Mr. Stark, you invented time travel. How is this so much more impossible?"

"Time travel is finicky, kid--"

Tony was cut off by Peter's phone ringing.

"Sorry, I have to take this," Peter took only a few steps away from the conversation before answering. "Love? Is everything ok?"

He waited a few minutes, nodding along to the other end of the line. "Okay, sure. I'll be home in about twenty minutes, is that okay?"

"Alright, I love you. See you soon."

Hanging up, he returned to the conversation. "Hey, thanks for having me, Mr. Stark, but I've got to head out."

"Is everything okay?" Dr. Strange asked.

"Oh, yeah. Just some issues at home." Peter smiled reassuringly.

He left quickly, waving goodbye at everyone he passed, and grabbing Nate for a hug before he walked out.

-------------------------------------------------------------

"Until we can locate the source of the threats, we need you to keep a low profile." Fury glared into the camera from his recorded message. "Find a safe house and lay low."

The video cut to black, and the group was quiet.

"So...we can't use my place anymore. Does anyone else have a secret family by chance?" Clint joked lightly, not expecting the sudden groan from their youngest member.

"I got a place, but you'll have to share rooms." Peter sighed.

"Kid, it's nice you've got an apartment, but I don't think-" Steve started

"Do you have a place?"

The jet was silent except the sounds of the engine.

"That's what I thought. I'll fly." Peter stalked over to the controls, pulling out his phone and shooting a text to someone as he did.

"You know you're not supposed to let people know where you're going to be, right?" Nat teased.

Peter didn't react, facing her with a deadpan stare.

"Okay..." She backed out slowly to join the rest of the group.

"The man of spiders seems reluctant to share his place of safety with us." Thor noted.

"Yeah, but he wouldn't have offered if he didn't mean it." Tony said.

------------------------------------------------

The jet landed in a field away from any notable buildings. The only thing around within sight were a ton of trees and a large van.

Peter walked straight to the van, gesturing for the Avengers to follow him. He knocked gently on the window, and it slid down to reveal a man about Peter's age. Peter promptly leaned down and kissed him.

"What?!" Tony cried, his eyes wide.

"This is my husband, Harley."

Harley waved.

"How's Benny?" Peter leaned into the car slightly, glancing at the backseat.

"He's been out for a few minutes now. If they're getting in, they have to be quiet." Harley responded.

"You heard the man, get in quietly. If you wake the baby, you get to wake up in the middle of the night to feed him and change diapers." Peter waved to the other side of the car and got in the backseat. Tony shrugged and got in the passenger seat, everyone sliding into the back, squished together.

Peter was sitting in the middle, adjusting the blankets over a car seat that was holding the cutest little baby any of them had seen.

Harley spoke up as the door closed, speaking softly to avoid waking up the baby. "Everyone needs to buckle in. It's about a fifteen minute drive."

Once everyone had obeyed, Harley drove off. The car was silent except for the hushed conversation between Peter and Harley.

"What's up with needing a safe house, love? Are we going to be in danger?"

"No, don't worry about it, Harls. It's just threats that SHIELD wants us out of the way to deal with. Nothing serious. Fury will have to deal with me if he leads anything out here."

As the car pulled into the driveway of a decently sized house, soft cooing came from the car seat.

"Hi, Benny!" Peter unbuckled the seatbelt and pulled the baby into his arms. "You've been giving your Papa some trouble, I hear."

The beautiful sounds of baby giggles filled the car as Peter tickled the little baby and Harley ushered everyone out. The Avengers were led to rooms to drop stuff off, and as they came back out, they were met with the young family sitting on the carpet of the living room as little Benny tried to crawl around.

"Why did I not know this?" Tony finally asked.

Peter snorted. "I think the better question is how did you not know this. It wasn't like I was hiding it."

Tony and the rest of the group thought back to all the times it was extremely obvious Peter had a family, and unanimously decided to never bring it up again.

The End.

Yay! Cute! Hope you enjoyed!

Bye!
