Hammer Industries (request)

A/N: Story time: I had a dog named Holly for like a year or two. Then my brothers wanted another dog, so we applied for one from an organization. We thought we didn't get the dog because they didn't respond, so we went out and got a different dog. Her name's Izzy. Then, like two days later, we got an email saying we got approved for the dog we wanted first, so we got her too. Her name's Sadie. Now, we have three dogs, and I still don't own Marvel.

This is a request! @CarlitaChavero, I hope you like this!

Warnings: none.

Peter walked into the place that had been his second home since he was 15. He was 20 now, and still working for Tony as a personal intern. He loved his job, even if Tony sometimes forgot that he was an adult, now.

"Hey, kid." Tony greeted Peter as he entered the lab.

Peter just let out a long-suffering sigh. "Mr. Stark, if I call you Tony will you acknowledge that I'm an adult and have been for the past two years?"

Tony grinned. "Nope."

"Fine, Mr. Stark it is." Peter draped his jacket over the back of a chair and sat down next to Tony. "So, What do we have?"

Tony pointed towards the mess of wires on the table. It looked like it was meant to be a gauntlet from the Ironman suit, but it was so disassembled that it was impossible to recognize. "That. I need to put it back together, but I forgot what it was."

Peter dramatically rolled his eyes at his mentor, earning him a light smack to the head. "Okay, I'll work on it."

A few hours of work later, and Peter had reassembled the wires to form the only thing he could. A toaster.

Tony peeked over his shoulder. "Figure our what it is yet?"

Peter shifted aside to let him look. "Mr. Stark, in the future, go to sleep before you disassembled toasters in your lab."

"Sleep is for the weak, kid." Tony rolled his chair away. A few minutes later, Peter pushed his chair back and said goodbye.

"I still don't understand why you don't stay anymore." Tony pouted exaggeratedly, crossing his arms over his chest and looking up at Peter.

Peter ignored him, and picked up his jacket. "I have to get back to campus for college. You live too far out to get to classes from here."

Tony reluctantly let his kid go, and then spent the rest of the night in his lab. After all, sleep is for the weak.

A week later, Peter walked into the lab and set down his stuff as usual. He was confused by the sound of laughter he could hear from Tony's desk, so he went to investigate.

"Mr. Stark?"

Tony turned around, chuckling slightly. His eyes widened when he saw his intern.

"Oh. Peter." Tony sent an awkward smile his way. "This is Max."

He stepped out of the way so Peter could see the young boy behind him. Peter waved and smiled confusedly. "Hi, Max!"

Tony shifted uncomfortably on his feet. "So, I kind of forgot you were coming today, and I want to work with Max. So...could you...ya know?" Tony accompanied the question with a flick of his wrist towards the door.

"Oh." Peter bit his lip to hide his tears. "Yeah. I'll just come back later, then."

Peter picked up his stuff and left, hoping he imagined Tony muttering, "please don't."

Peter came back anyways. Day after day, week after week, month after month, he came back. And every time, Tony would wave him away so he could hang out with Max.

The last time he came, he distinctly heard Tony say, "Just leave me alone already."

So Peter did. He stopped coming. He didn't care anymore. He was more mad than he'd ever been before.

How can he just replace me like that? How could he forget about me?

He knew there was only one thing to do now. Get revenge.

"Peter, are you sure about this?" May looked sadly at her pacing nephew.

Peter stopped pacing for a minute, and turned to her with a smile. "May. He hurt me, and I know that this will hurt him. And even better, this will be good for me. I can get out of his shadow, make my own name. I can do something to help people without Mr Stark getting in the way for once."

May smiled at Peter. He deserved the world, and Tony Stark wasn't giving it to him.

Several months later...

"And today we are welcoming a very special guest!" A woman's voice blared from the TV speakers as the Avengers sat watching the screen.

"Give a big welcome to Mr. Justin Hammer and his personal intern and future heir to his company!"

Tony sat up, now fully engaged in the TV. "Hammer? He got an intern? Since when?"

Natasha just elbowed the man, shutting him up so they could listen. The Avengers leaned into the TV as the man and his intern walked out.

"Peter Parker!"

"Tony?" Clint began cautiously. "Wasn't that kid your intern?"

Tony flushed and ignored the question, choosing to watch the screen instead. Peter stood confidently next to Hammer, smiling and talking with the reporter.

"Do you mind telling us how you became his intern?" The reporter flashed a fake smile to the camera, holding her mic out for Peter to speak into.

"I would love to. I was the personal intern of Tony Stark for several years. At some point, he slowly began forgetting about me and replaced me. I went to Hammer Industries in the hopes of getting a better job, or at least a better boss." Peter smiled sadly at the reporter, who was blushing fiercely from the attention Peter bestowed on her.

"And this kid," Hammer interrupted, throwing his arm over Peter's shoulders, "went and blew everyone away. He's literally a genius."

"Thank you, Justin." Peter grinned at the man, and Tony gasped. Peter had never called him by his first name, so why did Hammer of all people get that privilege?

"As the heir to Hammer Industries, I will raise the company to new heights. Stark Industries, you have new competition on the street." Peter winked at the camera, then the screen panned over to the reporter who was now frantically relaying information about Hammer Industries new projects as her guests left.

Tony turned the TV off and stared blankly at the screen. "I messed up, didn't I?"

The Avengers just nodded.

"We have to fix this."

"Get out."

The Avengers stood on Peter's doorway, cowering under the young man's glare.

"Peter, please. We just-" Tony pleaded.

"No. You do not have a right to come back here and expect to fix things. You used me, and then forgot about me. Nothing you can do can fix that." Peter glared harshly at his former family. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I have work to do."

Peter slammed the door in their faces, leaving them to their thoughts.

Okay. I am so sorry that took so long to get out! Just as a warning, updates will be slower for a while. I am getting ready to get back to school, and a lot is happening right now. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

I also have a few requests to work on right now. Requests are always welcome, but might take a while at the moment. Please be patient with me.

Speaking of requests, I want to make sure I have them all. I don't want to miss your request! So below this is a list of requests that I have gotten, and the person who requested them. If you don't see yours, but you requested one, please comment so I can get a draft set up to work on it. Also, if you see yours, it would be helpful if you could confirm it for me. Thank you!

@worry-is-weakness requested several ideas. (Peter meets Morgan, Harley meets Peter and Morgan, sciencebros, and Peter having a secret family)

@ticcitobyAXE requested Loki as Peter's father.

These will be coming out soon, just hold on tight. Thanks for the requests! They help a lot with ideas.

Thanks for putting up with me, guys! :)

Bye!
