Freaky Friday Remix (request)
I wrote so much of these that the little autosuggest thing over my keyboard says, "I, Peter, He." Like, I start a new line and my phone goes "Peter!" And I still don't own Marvel.
This was a request by TBSAAHAY123 I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: I don't know. Whatever you expect from a freaky Friday fic...it's probably there.
Ned woke up and promptly smashed his alarm clock before realizing that he should not be able to smash his alarm clock, nor does he have one. That realization did a lot to wake him up. He sat up quickly, and noticed the room was in extra-sharp focus, as if he had been seeing the world underwater until now. He rushed to a mirror, and promptly flipped out upon noticing Peter's face staring back at him.
———
Peter woke up to the soft sound of Mrs. Leed's voice. She sounded oddly muffled, but Peter thought he must have fallen asleep at Ned's with a pillow over his face. It wouldn't be the first time. Then, he noticed that there was no pillow, and that he was in Ned's body. He just sighed and lumbered out of bed to go find Ned—himself?—whatever.
———
"Oh my hot cheese and crackers on a silver platter!" Ned—Peter?—Ned squealed as he saw his own body swagger up to him. (It was definitely a swagger. He didn't know he could swagger.)
"Really?" His body asked.
"Really what?" He replied.
His body just shook his head. "Ned, is that you?"
Ned's eyes widened comically. "How did you know?"
His body rolled his eyes. "I'm Peter, dude."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
They barely made it through the school day. Peter was annoyed that weird things always had to happen to him—Parker luck—and Ned was top excitedly the prospect of being in Spider-Man's body.
"Are we going on patrol?" Ned asked as soon as he could after school. Peter pulled him into an alleyway.
"Yes, big first you have to learn a few things." Peter said. He threw a suit at Ned and told him to get changed. Once that was done, Peter started the lesson.
"First things first. Trust your gut." He threw something at Ned. Ned felt a weird inclination to move to the right, and so he did. He turned to see what Peter had thrown and noticed a knife, newly embedded into the wall.
"Peter!" He squeaked.
"It's fine. You dodged. Plus, you have superhealing." Peter said, causally.
Ned just nodded, shocked.
"Next things, web-shooters." Peter said. "KAREN will help you out since you don't have enough experience to judge where to point those things yet, so listen to her."
KAREN spoke up then. "Hello. I will assist you in where to shoot your webs to swing safely through the city."
"Thanks, KAREN." Ned muttered.
"To activate them," Peter continued, press down with your middle and ring finger on the pressure plate in the middle of your palm."
Ned obeyed and shot the floor with webs.
"Good." Peter nodded. "Now go."
Peter pushed Ned out of the alleyway and Ned started looking for crime. He didn't not feel remotely ready though.
Luckily, the city was short on crime for the day, so Ned really only saved a cat, walked a lady across the street, and had several near-death experiences with webs.
He never thought he'd say it, but when he woke up the next day in his own body, he was grateful that he wasn't Spider-Man.
The End.
I hope you enjoyed!
Bye!
