Headcanon 1: Gen Z Army (Possible NWH Spoilers)

SPOILERS DOWN BELOW!!!!!!

After the whole Mysterio framing Spidey for murder and stuff and after Strange cast that spell, everyone was kind of split on how to react to it. Many baby boomers agreed with Jameson: Spider-Man was a menace and should be arrested, even though his name had been cleared because they didn't like the idea of an enhanced, masked individual. Millenials were split: those who he had helped (which was a lot, if you think about all of the people he helped every night in three-four years,) we on his side, saying that he was a hero, while others, (mainly Karens,) demanded that he be sentenced for life for "terrorizing the community."

However, there was one generation that completely had his back.

Generation Z.

Why?

Because they soon realized that he was just one of them and an absolutely chaotic mess who would never randomly kill a guy after he helped save thousands. This was the generation that was used to looking past society's views of things and looking at the whole picture.

An encounter that went viral was when Spidey saved two teens from a mugging, saluted goodbye and them promptly tripped over a box into a garbage can. One of the teens had been recording and absolutely lost it when the vigilante said "hi, thanks for checkin in, I'm sTiLl a pIeCe oF gArBaGE~" This then led to a full-blown conversation on Vines and their supremacy. The teen posted the video of Spidey falling into the trash on the internet and it went viral, with Gen Z having a new-found love for their Vine-quoting hero.

There were many instances like that one, where Gen Z whole-heartedly related to Spidey, often seen laughing if they were talking to him. They loved how he was so supportive of everyone, shooting down a Karen with wisecracks after she insulted someone for dressing "inappropriately," (apparently tube tops are now illegal,) and "distracting her husband." Spidey's response was that the problem there was the husband, not the outfit, and that he should really learn to be respectful. Another group of teens were handing out pride badges to their friends as he swung past. They offered him one and he accepted, wearing it for the rest of the day, much to their delight. He was always throwing around compliments and being helpful, even when it came to small tasks, like helping someone with shopping, or tying a little boy's shoelaces.

But they also respected him for another reason. He was so down-to-earth and real, and he really truly cared for the people he met with his job. A girl, who had been sitting on the edge of a bridge about to jump, had broken-down crying when he at with her for several hours, waiting until she was safe and okay. She only cried harder when she realized that rather than going off to save other people, he chose to sit with her. They had talked the entire time about what she was feeling and what she was doing and he knew- he knew exactly what it was like to be in her position. Eventually she shared her story online, receiving so much love and people praising Spidey for caring. Many other teenagers shared their stories on how he had helped them with panic and anxiety attacks, breakdowns over homework then helped them with the homework, helped them get out of uncomfortable and unsafe situations, talked to them about their mental health when they were feeling low and was even brave enough to talk about his. To them, he was a true hero.

So with all of the propaganda about him being a murderer, the Gen Z community wasn't too happy. After a group of protesters came together to riot about Spidey being a criminal, Gen Z upped their game and shot down the party with facts. The protestors nearly got aggressive until the police arrived.

Another teen wanted to show support to the vigilante and went about making red-and-blue knotted bracelets and handing them out to friends. The friends told their friends and gave them some and the bracelets rippled throughout the teenage population of Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn. When Peter noticed so many teens and young adults with them on, he asked and nearly burst into tears when he learnt that they were secret symbols to show their support for Spider-Man. He gave high-fives to everyone he saw with one on that patrol, and when the teen who made them told him, he hugged them and told them thank you several million times.

A kid saw how much graffiti was against Spider-Man and decided to do something about it. Whenever he saw something against the hero, he made a mental note of where it was, got some paint and repainted it to show support to Spidey. Often it was a cool shot of him swinging through the air, other times it was variations of his spider symbol. His favourite artwork was one where he got a list of people's names Spidey had helped and drew a picture of the hero, colouring the image in with the names he had gotten. There was always a new one each week and he posted them on social media, going viral.

At a school, a teacher had been going off about how much they hated Spidey, so a band of students got together and stuck a massive roll of paper against the wall of a hall. Then they wrote a small sentence of how he helped them and left it on the wall. Throughout the week, people came and wrote what he had done, such as "helped me with my homework", "saved my mom from a car crash", "too two bullets for my dad and stopped him from getting mugged", "saved my cousin from a burning building", "saw me crying and made me laugh again", "swung my sister to the hospital after seeing the amount of traffic on the road", and many more. When the teacher saw this, she began to try and rip it off, but the principal stopped her, writing his own thing on the paper. The entire paper, stretched across the entire wall, was soon filled up in a matter of days. The principal is planning on getting a more permanent version of it on the wall.

So even though the world thought that Spider-Man was just one guy facing everything alone, he had an entire army at his back. A sleep-deprived, anxiety-riddled, meme-quoting depressed army of teenagers and young adults.

He wasn't alone.
