Chapter 1 The Start of the story

All this has happened before. And it will happen again. But this time it happened in London. It happened on a quiet street in Bloomsbury. One of the corner houses is the home of the Darling Family. And Peter Pan chose this particular house because there were people here who believed in him.

There was Mrs Darling. Mrs Darling believed that Peter Pan was the spirit of youth. But Mr. Darling was a practical man.

The children however John, and Micheal believed Peter pan was a real person and made him the hero of all their nursery games. (Y/N) and Wendy, not only believed, they were the supreme authority on all things Peter Pan and all his marvelous adventures.

Nana, the nursemaid, being a dog, kept her options to herself and viewed the whole affair with a certain tolerance.

Y/N Darling was quietly helping her little sister Wendy fold clothes. She had a sweet smile on and was gently humming a song. The humming turned into gentle singing, and Wendy couldn't help but smile she loved when her big sister sang to herself or her and their younger brothers.

~The second star to the right shines in the night for you~

~To tell you that the dreams you plan really do come true ~

Wendy couldn't help but to smile while she remembered why her sister wrote the song, Y/N wrote it as a lullaby of sorts when Wendy was 4 and her older sister was 8 to help Wendy get over having a nightmare about Captain Hook and his pirates after her first Peter Pan story. Now though she and her sister constantly told Neverland stories to their younger brothers.

~The second star to the right shines with a light so rare~

~And if it's Neverland you need, it's light will lead you there ~

Wendy just smiled and started singing with her sister as they finished their chores together.

~Twinkle, twinkle, little star so we'll know where you are~

~Gleaming in the skies above ~

~Lead us to the land we dream of~

Y/N simply smiled at her little sister as they sang as they finished folding the clothes, and putting them away.

~And when our journey is through each time we say goodnight ~

~We'll thank the little star that shines~

~The second from the right~

"Come Wendy, we should probably go check on the boys"Y/N said, she gently grab her little sister's hand and leading her up the stairs. As they neared their room, they could hear their little brothers, Micheal and John, playing.

"Never! I'll teach you to cut off me hand!" John shouted as his sisters entered the nursery.
Y/N noticed that he was holding the hanger in his right hand which was incorrect. "Oh no John" Wendy interrupted, noticing the same thing as her big sister.

"It was the left hand" Y/N corrected smiling at her younger brother. John looked at his hands switching which one he held the coat hanger in,"Oh yes, thank you Y/N and Wendy"

Y/N walked to the wash basin placing the cloth she was holding in it and picking it up. She walked out into the hallway and ran into Nana their nursemaid who was a dog, who had a plate with four glasses of water, four spoons, and a bottle of tonic on her head.

"Oh Nana. Must we always take that nasty tonic?" She asked knowing the dog couldn't answer her.
After filling the pitcher she was walking back to the nursery when she herd he father shouting for her. "Y/N,Y/N!!" She walked into the room and placed the basin on the table not looking at her father.

"Yes father?" She asked quietly before looking up to her mother. "Would you kindly ex-" George began before getting cut off. "Oh mother!!" She exclaimed rushing to her mother and admiring her beautiful dress," You look absolutely stunning!"

"Thank you dear" her mother said picking up a bit of the fabric of her dress. "Y/N" her father grumbled but he was ignored  "Just my old gown made over" Mary said twirling in place before taking her daughter's hands in her own " But it did turn out lovely "

"Mary if you don't mind " George said once more making Y/N look up at him and see a map drawn on his shirt front. "Why father what have you done to your shirt?" Y/N asked walking to her sister's side as the children started putting the toys away in the chest in the corner.

"What have I?..." George stuttered before he put his head on his head "Oh!" Their mother walked over to her husband with a cloth gently scolding him "Now George it comes right off."

"That's no excuse!" George said looking at his now clean shirt front "Y/N, Wendy haven't I warned you? Stuffing the boy's heads with a lot of silly stories."

"Oh but they aren't!" Wendy cried still holding a few toys, offended that her father thought that about the stories her big sister would tell her since she was 3 and her sister was 7. "I say they are!" George exclaimed trying to pull his collar around his neck "Captain Crook! Peter Pirate!"

"Peter Pan father" Y/N and Wendy corrected together putting the final toys in the chest. "Pan! Pirate! Poppycock!" Their father cried  "Oh! No father! You don't understand!" The children all cried trying to explain to their father  "Absolute poppycock!" He shouted walking closer to the children "And let me tell you this ridiculous-"

"Now George" their mother interrupted wrapping his tie around his neck "Now George" he mocked "Now George! Well now George will have his say!" He exclaimed backing away from his wife and messily tying his tie.

"Please dear." Mary said trying to soothe her angry husband. "Mary the children are growing up. It's high time the girls had a room of their own!" George exclaimed pointing to the hallway

"Father!" The sister exclaimed holding each other close. "George!" Mary cried surprised by how angry George really was. "What!" John shouted not wanting his big sisters to leave the nursery

"No!" Micheal exclaimed stilling wanting to hear the stories his big sisters would tell them every night. Even Nana dropped the blocks she was cleaning in shock her ears going up. "I mean it !" George stated "Young ladies this is your last night in the nursery!"

The girls placed their hands behind their back and lowed their heads in sadness as their father continued "And that's my last word on the matter-"

He was cut short as he tripped over Nana causing the dog to yelp and try to escape his feet. She slid across the floor running into the stack of blocks she was trying so hard to clean up. George was about to fall on her so she ran again only to have her paw catch the toy wagon. George did the same but the handle caught on the carpet ripping it up

Trying to stabilize himself he grabbed onto the nearby dresser but he only grabbed the cloth that was on top making everything crash to the floor on top of him. Nana slid as well banging against the wall in the corner of the room. "Oh!" The children and their mother cried rushing past George and over to Nana "Poor Nana!"

"Poor Nana???" George muttered before jumping up off the floor " This is the last straw! Out! Out I say!" "No father no!" Micheal said his small arms wrapped around Nana's furry neck. "Yes!" George shouted picking Nana up by the collar and dragging her out of the room

"They'll be no more dogs for nursemaids in this house" he stated as Micheal tried to hold on to Nana's tail only to be picked up by his mother

"Goodbye Nana" Micheal said waving sadly at the dog who waved back as she was dragged down the stairs. The children all got in their beds as their mother tucked them in. Y/N looked like she was about to cry "But mother I don't want to grow up"

"Neither do I " Wendy said hugging her sister tight in their shared bed, as Y/N insisted she and Wendy share one when they're brothers were born. "Now dears" Mary said placing a kiss on both their heads " Don't worry about anymore tonight"

"He called Peter Pan absolute poppycock" John said in disbelief. "I'm sure he didn't mean it John" their mother said talking off the boy's glasses and placing them on the table next to the bed "Your father was just upset "

"Poor Nana" Micheal sniffled a tear running down his cheek "Out there all alone" "No more tears Micheal" Mary said gently tucking her in "It's a warm night. She'll be alright"

"Mother" Micheal called looking at his hand. "What is it dear?" She asked looking at her youngest son. "The buried treasure" He said innocently holding out George's cuff links

"Now children " Mary said taking the items from Micheal's hand before walking to the window " Don't judge your father to harshly. After all he really does love you very much" She closed the window about to lock it before Y/N stopped her

"Oh don't lock it mother he might come back" she said a hopeful expression on her face. "He?!" Mary said worried some strange man had been in her children's room though the window "Yes Peter Pan" Y/N said plainly as she laid back down "You see I found something that belongs to him"

"Oh? And what is that?" Mary asked curiously. Y/N yawned before answering "His shadow "

"Shadow?" Mary exclaimed quietly her eyebrows raised. "Mhm Nana had it. But I....I took it away" Y/N trailed off as she fall asleep next to her already sleeping little sister

"Oh? Yes of course." Mary said quietly turning down the light in the nursery " Goodnight dear." Mary cast one last look at her sleeping children before closing the door behind her.
