Please Don't Go
Okay so like I've written two fluff stories already in this book, and I feel like we need some sadness to even it out a bit. Sound good? Yep, okay. Also small trigger warning for gory descriptions because yes there is going to be some of those. On with the story!
Peter was swinging around the city doing his nightly patrol. There really hadn't been much crime tonight, something that made Peter happy since he really felt like he was starting to make a difference.
He took a seat on the edge of a building and looked out over the city to the immense Avengers Tower. He had been staying there on weekends for the past two months, and he was super close with all the avengers now.
When he wasn't staying at the tower, he was at his apartment with his Aunt May. Peter thought about going back early but decided against it, since he was pretty sure his aunt had to work and extra shift at the diner. Or was that tomorrow? He honestly couldn't remember.
He shrugged the thought off and swung around some more, enjoying the thrill of flying between each web. He had some horrible experiences in his past, but his life was going up!

Meanwhile, May was sitting in the apartment. Peter was 'at Ned's house' so she was waiting for him to come home. She really wanted to spend some extra time with him tonight since she had to work a double shift tomorrow.
She decided to make herself a coffee and just relax for a bit. She was about to pick up her hot mug, when she heard a knocking on the door.
'Oh that must be Peter!' She thought happily to herself.
"Coming!" She called.
May walked over to the apartment door and pulled it open. In the doorway was a tall strong man with some sort of gadget on his wrist.
"C-Can I help you?" May asked frightened.
"Adrian Toomes sends his best." Was all the man said before he burst into the small apartment.
He brutally beat May to a pulp with his shocking glove and knives. She was barely recognizable by the time Shocker was finished. It took no more than three minutes for him to murder Peter Parker's last living relative.
Before he left, he grabbed a brush from his back pocket, walked over to the bloody heap that was May and rubbed her blood on the wall to form two letters. A. T.

Peter decided it was time to head home. He stood up, and began the short swing back to his apartment.
When he was a few minutes away, his Spidey sense started to tingle, like there was danger but the threat was gone. Peter shrugged it off. He was too tired to fight anymore crime tonight.
He crawled over to his apartment window and climbed inside. It wasn't too late so his aunt should still be awake.
"Hey Aunt May! Sorry I'm a little late! Me and Ned lost track of time!" Peter called out to the apartment.
When he received no answer he grew suspicious.
"May are you home?" He called out again. No reply. He took off his suit and walked into the living room.
"May where ar-" he stopped talking when he saw the heap of flesh and blood that must have been his aunt.
Peter collapsed onto the floor.
"MAY!" He screamed.
He crawled over to her and held onto what was left of her hand.
"Please... don't go... don't leave me all alone." Peter pleaded with the corpse.
He sat there crying for two hours before he ran out of tears. He stood up shaking and whimpering. He was about to call the police, when he saw writing on the wall. It was in blood.
"A. T?" Peter said aloud.
He thought for a moment before he collapsed again.
"Toomes..." he whispered to himself.
He had managed to piece together what had happened and he knew he couldn't stay here. He ran into his room, threw on his suit and jumped out the window.
He swung himself over to a roof on a building he usually visits.
"Peter, you seem to be distressed, shall I call Mr. Stark?" Karen asked.
"Y-yes." Peter replied.
He heard the phone ring a few times before Tony answered.
"Hey kid, what's up? It's midnight and a school night, shouldn't ooo be done patrol?" Tony spoke with some happiness in his voice.
"T-tony..." Peter tried to talk but choked out in tears.
"Kid! What's wrong are you hurt!?" Tony asked panic replacing the happiness in his tone.
Peter tried to talk more but he just kept crying.
"Alright stay on the phone I'm on my way. I'm bringing Steve too." Tony said.
Peter could hear him getting his suit on and running to get Steve. Next thing he knew, he could see iron man flying towards him while carrying captain America. The phone call disconnected.
"Pete! What's going on!?" Steve called out.
Peter had stopped crying now, and just felt... empty.
"He-he k-killed her." He said with a shake in his voice.
Tony and Steve looked at one another.
"Who killed who Pete?" Tony asked.
"He's back..." Peter said.
"Peter you're not making sense. What happened." Tony said.
He got eye level with the boy and held both of his arms. Peter's eyes began to well up again and he threw himself into Tony.
"I-it's all m-my fault! If-if I woulda gone home sooner n-none of this woulda happened!" Peter said between sobs.
Tony hugged the boy back and looked up at Steve.
"Pete, why don't you come back to the tower and we talk about this in the morning?" Steve suggested. They couldn't take him back to his aunt looking and acting like an emotional wreck.
They didn't wait for an answer but instead took off towards the tower. When Peter stopped crying, Steve looked down at him to see he was fast asleep.
"Poor kid. Who knows what he saw on patrol tonight." Tony said as he looked down at the distressed sleeping spider.
"I'm not sure but it must have been bad for him to act like this." Steve shook his head.
When they got back to the tower, they set Peter in the room he used when he came over on weekends. All the other avengers were asleep, so no one saw them bring Peter in.

The avengers woke up early that morning. Natasha, Wanda and Bucky were sitting on the couch watching the morning news. Tony and Thor sat at the table having a cup of coffee. Steve was making breakfast, while Clint was perched atop the fridge playing with his arrows.
When Natasha saw a specific headline on the news she paid more attention.
"Friday turn it up."
"A brutal murder took place late last night in an apartment downtown Queens. Police discovered a body that was so mutilated all they could do was take a DNA sample. The body belongs to that of either May Parker or Peter Parker, the two residents of the household. It is unaware who's body that is, for all police know it could be a mix of both. If you have any information please contact local police." The reporter said.
The avengers jaws dropped. The ones who didn't know Peter was in the tower began to panic.
"Oh god who's heard from Peter lately!?" Wanda asked.
"Is man of spiders okay!?" Thor asked.
"I swear I'm gonna destroy whoever hurt him." Natasha growled.
"He's just a kid..." Bucky said sadly.
"Stark you should know something!" Clint yelled.
Everyone stopped yelling and turned to look at Tony.
"That must have been what he was talking about." Tony said as he looked at Steve.
Tony and Steve took off running towards where Peter was still asleep. The other avengers stood in the living room confused and scared.
When Tony and Steve went into Peter's room, he was awake and shaking.
"Peter we are so sorry." Steve said.
"He killed her..." Peter repeated.
"Who killed her Pete?" Tony asked.
"He's back..." Peter repeated again.
"Friday get the others in here now!" Tony called.
The avengers all cane running in, relieved to see Peter, but sad at what that meant.
"Peter, can you tell us what happened?" Steve asked again.
"He killed her... He's back..." Peter repeated again.
Bucky walked over and sat beside Peter.
"Pete you can tell us okay?" Bucky said.
Peter lifted his head up and looked into Bucky's eyes.
"I-I was on patrol and not much was happening so I should have gone home, but I didn't want to so I stayed out even though there were no crimes to stop. I should have gone home to her... if I did then... she wouldn't be..." Peter couldn't finish.
Natasha came over and sat on the other side of Peter.
"Do not blame yourself for this Peter. This isn't your fault." She said.
"But it is! Be-Because it was Toomes that sent someone to kill her!" Peter yelled. Only a few avengers knew who Toomes was.
"Who's Toomes?" Clint asked.
"He's the guy that dropped Peter in a lake, dropped a building on him, crashed my plane with Peter inside, and lots of other things to hurt him." Tony explained.
"He was also my girlfriend's dad." Peter added.
"Oh and he figured out my identity. I knew it was him because when I found her... someone wrote his initials on the wall in her blood." Peter explained. He was able to talk about it now since all he wanted was revenge.
"I'm sorry man of spiders for your loss." Thor said sadly.
"It's okay I mean I've dealt with this before." Peter shrugged. "I'll probably just get stuck in some orphanage till I turn 18."
"You don't actually think we'd let that happen do you?" Tony asked.
Peter looked at him confused.
"Pete you're like a son to all of us. There is no way you're going to some orphanage. If you agree, you can stay here as long as you want. I'll even adopt you!" Tony smiled.
Peter smiled too and cried some more. Everyone came together in a big group hug. They were a family. A big, crazy, super, dysfunctional family, but Peter loved everything about it.
Aww what a cheesy ending. Anyways that's all for this one! Hope it wasn't too horrible. Leave any suggestions for future oneshots in the comments or PM me! Thanks for reading!
