Parker Stark Romanoff Barton Rogers Barnes

Yes I have some happy chapters planned but I've just had a really crappy few weeks so I don't think I would be able to write a lot of quality happy stuff. Sorry.

Peter was swinging around town in his suit, not really stopping crimes, just hanging out. He loved the weightless feeling he got every time he switched webs.

He had spent the whole day at the avengers tower like he did every Saturday and now he was on his way home to go see Aunt May.

He felt really bad for her, because she had recently found out that her heart wasn't very strong, meaning her chance of having a stroke or heart attack was higher.

Of course this was easily preventable, all they needed to do was keep the stress and shock to a minimum. All the more reason why she cannot find out about Spiderman.

Peter crawled up his apartment and stopped at his bedroom window. He saw his Aunt walk by and when she passed he slowly opened the window. He crawled inside on the ceiling and quietly shut the door.

He sighed in relief as he began to search around for something to wear. He didn't realize his door was opening until his Aunt walked in.
"Hey Peter what do you want for din-"

He spun around and May's mouth fell open in shock. She dropped to her knees and was panting and wheezing. Peter panicked and ran down beside her.

"May, May are you okay!?" He said. May looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"You- You're Spiderman?" She asked. Peter nodded with tears in his eyes too.

"Yes, May, I'm so sorry, but with your heart condition I-I couldn't-" Peter stopped. May's heart condition.

He felt her pulse and it was beating was too quickly.
"Peter..." May said and her eyes slid shut. Her body went limp and Peter cried and screamed.

"May! Wake up! May, please!" His voice broke. He ran to his room and ripped off his suit. He threw on pjs and called 911.

"911, how can we help?"

"Please- My Aunt she's having a heart attack!" Peter cried.

"Alright, I need you to stay calm and stay on the phone with me. We are sending an ambulance to your location."

The rest of the conversation was a blur. Peter told her his address. Then she kept telling him it would be okay. Peter's mind was in a haze.

Soon paramedics arrived and Peter watched as they desperately tried to save his aunt. Then he had hands on his shoulders, saying something about how sorry they were.

He was brought out of his daze when he heard those dreadful words.
"Time of death, 22:41."

Peter watched as the paramedics took his Aunt away in a body bag.
"If there's anyone you can contact, you should do so. We're very sorry for your loss." One of the paramedics said.

He stood in shock at the now empty apartment. Then it all hit him. May was dead. And it was his fault. If he hadn't of been so careless in hiding his secret, May would still be alive.

He ran to his room and grabbed the suit. He stared at it with tears in his eyes. He threw it into a plastic bag and tied it up. He jumped out his window and, thanks to the cover of nighttime, he swung onto a rooftop.

He set the bag beside him and pulled out his phone with shaky hands. He scrolled through his contacts until he found the one he was looking for.

He pressed the call button and the happy voice of his mentor came through the phone.
"Hey Pete! What's up?" Tony said. Peter couldn't help but burst into tears. This worried Tony.

"Kid? What's wrong? Are you hurt?" Tony asked. Peter just kept crying.
"Alright kid, I'm coming to you." Tony said and the line went dead.

It only took about 2 and a half minutes before Peter saw the red and gold of the Iron Man suit flying towards him. When the suit landed, Tony came running out and sat down beside Peter.

"Pete? What's going on?" He asked. Peter looked at Tony with red and puffy eyes from crying. There were no tears left inside of him.

"It's my fault..." Peter started. "It's all my fault."
Tony looked confused. He grabbed Peter's shoulders and made him look at him.
"What happened Peter?" Tony asked.

Peter looked into his mentors eyes and saw the worry that filled him. He knew he needed to tell Tony.
"M-May she's... gone..." Peter said quietly. Tony's eyes widened and he pulled Peter into a hug.

"It's gonna be alright Peter." Tony said. Peter some how found more tears and cried loudly as Tony held him in his arms.

It was official. Peter was the only Parker left. Parker luck had taken everyone away from him and now Peter was all alone.

"What am I gonna do?" Peter said when he was finished crying. Tony tilted his head.
"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Well, I'm the only one left, I-I have nowhere to go..." Peter said. Tony shook his head.
"Okay, I know you're in shock so I'm gonna let this one slide. You're staying with us Pete."

Peter smiled sadly.
"Really? You'd do that for me?"
Tony rolled his eyes.
"Of course Pete! You're like a son to me and I'll keep a roof over your head forever."

Peter sunk back into Tony's hug and they stayed like that until Peter fell asleep. Tony scooped the boy up and flew back to avengers tower.

When he stepped out of the elevator carrying the avengers favourite kid fast asleep, he received multiple confused stares. Tony gave them a look that said 'not right now' and no one said anything.

Tony laid Peter down in his bed because he figured if the kid had a nightmare it would be better if he was right there with him. Tony crawled in beside him and drifted off to sleep.

"It's all your fault..."

Peter was walking around an endless dark hallway. He saw his Aunt May and ran up to her. She looked angry and disappointed.

"It's your fault I'm dead. If you weren't Spiderman then I'd still be alive." She hissed. Then she faded away.

"It's all your fault."

Peter ran down the hallway and stopped when he saw his parents.
"If we hadn't given birth to you, then we wouldn't have had to run away. It's your fault we're dead." They hissed and faded away.

"It's all your fault."

Peter kept running and running. Then he saw his Uncle Ben, standing there with a hole in his chest.
"You could have stopped my killer, but instead you let him get away. It's your fault I'm dead. You don't deserve these powers, they're wasted on you." He hissed then faded away.

"It's all your fault."

Peter ran and ran and ran endlessly. Then he saw his worst nightmare. There stood the avengers, all dead, and Tony standing in the middle of them all.

"It's your fault we're dead. If you would have just been quicker, we'd be alive. I'm so disappointed in you. All you ever were is a burden, and that's all you ever will be." Tony hissed.

All the avengers stood up and surrounded him. Then his parents joined and his Uncle Ben and his Aunt May. They all circled around him.

"It's your fault we're dead!"
"It's your fault we're dead!"
"ITS YOUR FAULT WE'RE DEAD!"

"It's all my fault."

Peter woke up panting with tears streaming down his face. He looked over and saw Tony reaching to pull him into a hug. Peter hugged him back and slowly his sobs turned into sniffles, and he drifted back off to sleep.

He had a few more nightmares that night, but one that woke him up.

{•••}

Tony woke up at 8 am. The poor kid had had nightmares all night. He quietly made his way outside the room to let the kid get a few more hours of rest. Plus, he needed to tell the team why Peter would be staying here.

He walked out into the living room and made himself a cup of coffee. Thor and Banner were still missing, Wanda and Vision were on a romantic getaway and Sam and Rhodey were doing military missions, but at least he could tell the others.

Tony sat down and waited for the avengers to trickle into the room. After about 20 minutes they were all sitting on the couches talking amongst themselves.

Tony cleared his throat and they looked at him intently. It was Natasha, Bucky, Steve and Clint  who were all still there.

"I'm sure you're wondering why I brought Peter here last night." Tony said and they all nodded. "Well, Peter's Aunt passed away."

They all gasped.
"Oh god, poor Peter." Natasha said.
"What happened to her?" Bucky asked. Tony shook his head.
"I'm not sure, Peter hadn't told me yet."
"Well we should give him some time to let it sink in." Steve said.
"Man, kid can't catch a break." Clint added sadly.

"We will wait for him to wake up, then we'll ask him what happened." Tony said.

{•••}

The sunlight streamed into the room, and Peter sat up in the bed. He remembered where he was and what happened last night, but he didn't want to cry again.

"Friday?" Peter asked.
"Good morning Peter." She replied.
"What time is it?" Peter asked.
"It is currently 11:30 am."

It's been over 12 hours since May died. Peter shook that thought from his head and made his way over to the living room.

He sat down and they all smiled sadly at him.
"Hey Pete, how's it going?" Bucky asked. Peter shrugged.
"We're all here for you Peter." Steve added. Peter gave him a small smile and nodded.

"Hey kiddo, why don't you get some breakfast?" Tony asked. Peter nodded and got up. He was kinda hungry.

He opened the fridge and was about to grab some milk, but he heard the TV playing something on the news.

He walked back into the living room and read the headline.

"Woman, May Parker, dies in apartment last night."

Peter grabbed the remote and turned it up. The announcer was covering the details of May's death.

"A middle aged woman by the name of May Parker has died in her two bedroom apartment in Queens last night around midnight. Authorities say she died due to a heart attack caused by a heart problem. She leaves behind her 15 year old nephew, Peter Parker."

The avengers looked over at Peter who then stood up and ran to his room. He shut the door and began panting. This all felt too real, too quick. It was too much.

He sat down on his bed and held the blankets tightly. Soon enough, the avengers came running into his room and they hugged him.

Tony got Peter to look at him in the eyes.
"Pete, I know this is going to be hard, but I need you to tell us what happened, okay?"

Peter nodded. He took a deep breath.
"W-Well I was swinging home from being at the tower all day. I crawled in my window and was looking for some clothes to change into. May walked inside and saw me in my suit. She started freaking out and-and then she... she fell to the ground. That's when the heart attack happened. It-It was all my fault. She died because I wasn't smart enough to hide Spiderman better..."

Everyone hugged him closely.
"Peter, none of this is your fault. She would have figured out eventually, this was just bad timing okay? She wouldn't want you to blame yourself." Natasha said.

Peter nodded and started to calm down in the arms of his new family.

{•••}

Peter was finally calm enough to leave his room. Not even 15 minutes later, Friday announced something that terrified Peter.

"Sir, It appears child services are on their way up." She said.
"What? Friday how?" Tony said.
"I'm not sure, but they are arriving now." She replied.

Peter panicked and Tony shook his head. The elevator opened and three men in black suits stepped out. The head one pulled out a badge and shoved it in Tony's face.

"Child services, Mr. Stark. By law we are ordered to take Mr. Parker to an orphanage by any means necessary." He said.

The other two men walked over and grabbed Peter roughly. The avengers stood up while Peter struggled in their arms. He wished he could use his super strength right now.

They dragged him over to the elevator.
"Hey! Stop that!" Tony yelled.
"We have to take him." The officer said. Tony glared.

"You are not taking my kid anywhere." He growled. The officers looked surprised. Peter did too.

"Your kid?" The officer asked. Tony nodded.
"You're damn right. I'm actually adopting Peter here, so I'd suggest you let him go before I sue you for harassment and anything else I want."

The officers nodded and apologized as they let Peter go and raced back into the elevator. Peter ran over and hugged Tony.

"You really want to adopt me?" He asked. Tony chuckled.
"Of course I do Pete, you were already basically my son, this just makes it more official."

They hugged each other tightly as the avengers took pictures and cooed. Tony rolled his eyes.
"Come on, lets go get these papers done so I can officially make you Peter Parker-Stark."

And that's how Peter Parker-Stark, became, Peter Parker-Stark (Romanoff, Barton, Rogers, Barnes).

Okay yea so that happened I guess. I dunno. I'm probably not gonna have consistent updates for the next little bit because it's just been an odd few weeks guys. However, I hope you enjoyed this one shot! It's almost 2500 words so like that's a lot for me.
