In just three months, everything Pete knew was flipped upside down. Mikey was the light at the end of the tunnel that he'd been traveling through for so long. His sweet escape. Why Mikey wanted to be with Pete, he would never know. But Pete was glad anyway.

Arguments weren't uncommon in their relationship; in fact, they were pretty frequent. It was to be expected, considering Pete and Mikey were such different people. Pete was loud, energetic, and vocal about his emotions and opinions, whereas Mikey was exactly the opposite--quiet, reserved, and very acquainted with keeping to himself.

The two didn't ever have much in common--at least, that's what Pete thought. Other than music and the fact that they were both crazy about each other, not many of their interests were mutual. Mikey adored comic books and horror movies while Pete gushed over classic poetry and 'Braveheart'.

"A cinematic masterpiece," Pete had once claimed, causing Mikey to laugh and nod.

But all in all, Pete and Mikey were madly falling for each other, and neither one denied it. Though they had their differences, at the end of the day, they still loved each other more than anyone else could even fathom.

And sure, arguments happened. At least they were vocal with each other about things--Pete had though of the arguments as a sign of a healthy relationship. No matter what, Mikey loved Pete, and Pete would always love Mikey.

No matter what.

Which was why letting Mikey go was so hard.
