"I love him so much," Pete gazes across the lunchroom, looking at his boyfriend. "I'm glad he feels the same."

Patrick wipes his mouth with his sleeve. "I can't believe you only told him last month. You were both so obvious."

"Really?"

"Yes! And you know what else I can't believe?"

"What?" Pete says, reaching into his bag of chips and eating another.

"You look at him like he's the only thing in the world that matters, Pete."

Pete looks down, then turns to look back at Mikey, who notices him and grins, then makes a heart with his hands. Pete laughs, copies Mikey, and then turns to Patrick.

"Who says he isn't?"
