Ch.2
(Cat above is Tabbypaw)
Petalkit sat outside the nursery, anxiously waiting for Gorsestar to call the clan together. Tabbypaw and Nightpaw had just gotten back from doing their warrior assessments and Gorsestar was already going to do the ceremony. Tawnykit sat beside her, fidgeting just as much as she was.
"I can't wait for the ceremony." He meowed. "What do you think their names will be?"
"I don't know." Petalkit answered. "I sure hope Gorsestar starts soon. I can't wait any longer."
As if on cue, the two kits noticed Gorsestar emerge from his den and leap onto the Highrock, his light brown tabby fur glowing in the sunlight. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Hightock for a clan meeting!" He called.
Petalkit and Tawnykit's anticipation increased as they watch the clan gather. They saw Nightpaw and Tabbypaw slip out of the apprentices' den shortly followed by the other apprentices.
"Today I perform one of a clan's most important ceremonies. The making of new warriors." Gorsestar announced once the clan gathered. He signaled for Tabbypaw and Nightpaw to come forward.
He turned to their mentors, Hawkflight and Bluemist. "Hawkfligh, do you believe Tabbypaw is ready to serve his clan as a warrior?"
Hawkflight nodded. "I have no doubt he's ready."
Gorsestar then turned to Bluemist. "Bluemist, do you believe Nightpaw is ready to serve his clan as a warrior?"
The blue she cat nodded. "He's ready."
Gorsestar leapt from the Highrock to stand in front of the two apprentices. He lifted his chin to start.
"I, Gorsestar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in thier turn." He turned to Nightpaw. "Nightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Nightpaw's whiskers twitched as he replied. "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Nightpaw, from this moment you will be known as Nightfall. StarClan honors your intelligence and your courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan."
When he finished speaking Gorsestar stepped up to Nightfall and rested his muzzle on his bowed head. Nightfall licked his shoulder respectfully, then walked over to stand beside Bluemist.
Gorsestar fixed his gaze on Tabbypaw. "Tabbypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Tabbypaw proudly raised his chin. "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Tabbypaw, from this moment you will be known as Tabbystripe. StarClan honors your skill and your loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan."
Just as his did for Nightfall, Gorsestar rested his muzzle on Tabbystripe's bowed head. Tabbystrip licked his shoulder then walked to stand between Hawkflight and Nightfall.
"Nightfall! Tabbystripe!" The clan welcomed the two new warriors by their new names. Once the ceremony was over, the clan began to separate and go about their duties.
"I like thier new names." Tawnykit commented.
"Me too." Petalkit agreed. "What do think ours will be?"
"I wan to be Tawnyclaw." Tawnykit replied.
"And I want to be Petalheart."
They were silent for a moment.
"I'm going to ask Mintkit and Featherkit what they think they're names will be." Tawnykit meowed padding into the nursery.
Petalkit watched him leave. I wonder what Marshkit's name will be. What could he possibly be honored for?

A moon had passed since Tabbystripe and Nightfall's ceremony. In that moon, Tawnykit and his siblings had recently become apprentices. Tawnypaw got Ashwhisper as his mentor, Mintpaw got Duststripe, and Featherpaw got Softcloud.
And today it was time for Petalkit and Marshkit to become apprentices. Petalkit sat outside grooming her fur. Meadowlight was busy with Marshkit. Leadshade emerged from the warriors' den and padded across the clearing over to the nursery.
"Are you two ready?" He asked.
Petalkit nodded. "I am. I can't wait train with Tawnypaw."
"Coalfoot better have talked to Gorsestar about being my mentor." Marshkit mewed.
"I'm sure he did." Meadowlight meowed. "Coalfoot would be a lucky cat to be able to train you."
More like every cat will take pity on him.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"
Petalkit's heart spead up quicker than a sprinting cat as Gorsestar's call echoed throughout the camp.
"Let's go." Leafshade meowed, beginning to lead them into the clearing.
By the time they got there, all of ThunderClan had already gathered. Petalkit felt her pelt prickle. She felt like a thousand pairs of eyes were on her. She casted a quick glance over to the apprentices' den. Tawnypaw's gaze was locked with hers and he looked more excited than she did.
"When a clan makes new apprentices, it shows that the clan is growing stronger. Meadowlight's kits have reached their sixth moon and it is time for them to become apprentices." Gorsestar announced.
He padded to stand in front of Marshkit. "Marshkit, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Marshpaw. Coalfoot, you will be his mentor."
He turned to Coalfoot. "Coalfoot, you are a skillful and patient warrior and I trust that you will turn Marshpaw into an wonderful warrior."
Coalfoot nodded and stepped up to touch noses with Marshpaw.
Petalkit felt her whiskers twitch with excitement as Gorsestar turned to her. "Petalkit, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Petalpaw. Ravenfeather will be you mentor."
Gorsestar let his gaze sweep the clan before finally resting on Ravenfeather who was already making his way to the front. "Ravenfeather, you are a strong and courageous warrior and I know that you will make Petalpaw a warrior that ThunderClan will be proud of."
The young black warrior dipped his head. "She will be. I'll see to it."
Petalpaw's body shook with anticipation as she reached up to touch noses with Ravenfeather.
"Marshpaw! Petalpaw!"
Petalpaw felt her fluff up with pride as the clan cheered for her and Marshpaw. The loudest mew she could hear came from Tawnypaw.
"Come on." Ravenfeather meowed. "Let's take a tour of the territory."
"Okay!" Petalpaw cheered as she followed Ravenfeather through the gorse tunnel.
"Coalfoot and Marshpaw already left." Ravenfeather stated. "Can you smell which way they went?"
Petalpaw opened her mouth to taste the air and immediately she picked up her brother's scent. "They went that way." She meowed, pointing with her tail to the right side of the forest.
"Good." Ravenfeather mewed. "So we'll go this way."
The first place they had visited was the sandy hollow. That's where Tawnypaw and I will train. Ravenfeathef then lead her along the stream to Sunningrocks.
"Remember the scent of RiverClan. And the scents of WindClan and ShadowClan." Ravenfeather instructed.
The two cats then traveled to Tallpines, which bordered Twolegplace.
"It's best to stay away from there," Ravenfoot said, referring to Twolegplace, "when you can, at least. We have to mark the border along here, but otherwise don't go near the twolegs."
"I'll do my best." Petalpaw meowed.
Ravenfeather nodded and the two cats continued on.

By the time they returned to camp, Petalpaw's feet ached. She slowly made her way to the apprentices' den, limping slight on her aching paws.
"Welcome back, Petalpaw." Blossompaw greeted her.
"Hi." Petalpaw meowed, sleepily.
"How was the tour?" Sprucepaw asked.
"Wonderful!" Petalpaw answered. "Has Marshpaw come back yet?"
Yarrowpaw nodded. "He got back not long before you did."
Petalpaw slipped into the den.
"Hi" Tawnypaw meowed. He was sitting in a nest which Petalpaw assumed must be his. He was patting a nest next to him. "While you and Marshpaw were out, Featherpaw and I made nests for you. He picked the one by her, so you get this one by me."
"Thanks." Petalpaw mewed, curling up in her new nest.
She closed her eyes and let her thought on what tomorrow would bring ease her to sleep.
