Ch.11

(Cat above is Webstar)

Petalpaw jolted awake, startled by the commotion echoing through the clearing. Her heart raced with a blend of excitement and curiosity. The urgent voices and the bustle of cats signaled that Gorsetar had called the clan together. Swiftly, Petalkit groomed her calico fur and dashed out of the apprentice den. She slipped in the gathering of her clanmates and squeezed in beside Mintpaw.

"Have a missed who Gorsestar's sending?" She whispered to the light gray tabby.

"No." Mintpaw shook his head. "He just called the clan."

"Cats of ThunderClan!" Gorsestar's voice boomed, demanding the attention of all. "We have once again encountered threats from rogues, and it is time we spoke with the other Clans. I will be sending three patrols to ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan, and their only task is to ask a out rogues. If ThunderClan is alone in this, we may need their help. If this is a threat to all clans, we need to strengthen our bond in the event of something bigger."

Petalpaw's ears perked. She scanned her surroundings, observing her clanmates, wondering who Gorstar would send. She knew some of her clanmates were excellent at talking with cats from the other clans and who were more skittish but could bring a calm and peace if tensions arised.

"Whitepath will lead the patrol to ShadowClan." Gorsestar continued. "Duststripe, Mintpaw, Fawnfur and Orangeleap will join him."

Mintpaw gave Petalpaw and Featherpaw small nods before he slipped away and gathered with his patrol. Petalpaw felt a small tinge of jealousy that he was assigned to ShadowClan. She bounced on her front paws as Gorstar swept his gaze over the clan.

"Aspentail will lead the patrol to RiverClan. Tabbystripe, Softcloud, Featherpaw, Appleshade and Marshpaw withh go with her."

Featherpaw whispered a small goodluck to Petalpaw. The calico apprentice watched her gather beside Marshpaw in their patrol. The patrol going to WindClan was the last one. The tip of her tail twitched with anticipation. Please say me, please say me.

"Larkeye will lead the Patrol to WindClan." Gorstar announced. "Tinybreeze, Ravenfeather and Petalpaw will join him."

Petalpaw nearly leapt out of her pelt with excitement. This would be her fist time visiting another clan's camp. She bou ded iver to where Ravenfeather, Larkeye and Tinybreeze had gathered.

Gorsetar signaled for the meeting to end and the three patrols set out. As Petalpaw walked by the medicine den, she saw Tawnypaw sitting outside, cobwebs playeres on his muzzle. Though he said his wound didn't bother him, Sagenose was keeping him in the den until he knew a good scan had formed. The tortoiseshell tom flashed her a smile and mouth what looked like good luck.

Petalpaw returned Tawnypaw's smile. She mouthed back a quick thank you before turning her attention back to the WindClan patrol. The group raced on and made their way up the ravine. They followed the path that pasted through the forest and to Fourtrees.
When they paused at the top of the slope, Petalpaw could feel her paws aching as she sat down to catch her breath.

"How do WindClan cats do it?" She asked.

"Well, they're used to it." Ravenfeather mewed. "But yoi did for your time."

Petalpaw smiled at his praise. She looked up and let her eyes scan the area in fron of her. This was WindClan's territory. A large gust of wind blew against the patrol, nearly knocking Petalpaw off her paws. Larkeye scanned the territory, looking for signs of border patrols. Petalpaw watched him curiously, and wonder if Tawnypaw would act like his father one day.

"Let's go." The tortoiseshell warrior flicked his tail. "Either we run into a patrol or we walk straight into their camp."

As they stepped further, the open expanse of the moor stretched before them, and Petalpaw marveled at the vastness of WindClan's territory. She stuck close to Ravenfeather, a tinge of nervousness running through her.

Larkeye led the patrol in a steady pace, his tortoiseshell tail held high as they ventured deeper into towards WindClan's camp. The blowing wind and swaying grasses created a sense of tranquility, but Petalpaw couldn't help but feel a twinge of unease. They were on a serious mission, seeking answers and unity in the face of the rogue threats that loomed over ThunderClan.

As they trekked through the moorland, nearby brush rustled and a blue gray tom padded out. His body was lither and his fur was short and slick and Petalpaw could only imagine how swift he was. A large white tom and a yellow she cat stepped out behind him.

Larkeye dipped his head politely. "Raindrizzle, Fallowclaw, Sunwhisker."

Petalpaw watched the WindClan cats with a mixture of curiosity and respect. She recognized she recognized them from gatherings but hadn't known them by name. Raindrizzle semmed intrigued by their presence but didn't seem threatening. Fallowclaw, the large white tom, had a presence that demanded attention, and Sunwhisker, the yellow she-cat, exuded a calm and gentle aura.

Raindrizzle dipped his head to each of them. Larkeye, Ravenfeather, Tinybreeze." When he got to her, Raindrizzle flahed Petalpaw a small smile. "Petalpaw."

Petalpaw bowed her head. "You know me?"

"I do." Raindrizzle mewed. He casted an amused look at Ravenfeather. "Your mentor bragged about you at the last gathering."

Petalpaw's eyes widened in surprise. She glanced at Ravenfeather, who appeared slightly embarrassed but proud at the same time. She felt a twinge of excitement knowing that her mentor had spoken highly of her to other cats outside of ThunderClan. She felt a surge of gratitude towards Ravenfeather for believing in her abilities.

Larkeye interjected, getting the patrol back on track. "We would like to cath up more but we wuld like to speak with Webstar. It's urgent."

Raindrizzle exchanged a brief glance with Fallowclaw and Sunwhisker before responding. "Then follow us."

Petalpaw felt her pelt ripple with apprehension as the ThunderClan patrol followed the WindClan warriors further into the moorland. She peaked through the cats infront of her spotted a hollow in the ground. They bounded down the slope and descended into the the gorse which tugged at their fur. Petalpaw winced as a thorn snagged her ine of her ears. They pushed through intil they came to a sheltered clearing. The ground had become hard by generations of pawssteps. At one end of the clearing stood a rock, smoothed by many moons of wind. Petalpaw noticed several hollows under the gorse and some made of gorse that she guessed were dens.

Fallowclaw and Sunwhisker dismissed themselves and Raindrizzle told them to wait while he retrieved Webstar. Petalpaw waited anxiously in the clearing, her gaze shifting from one gorse den to another. She could feel the weight of the situation settling on her shoulders. The wind whistled through the moorland, carrying a sense of anticipation with it. She glanced at her clanmates, to see if they were feeling as she was.

Just then, movement caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. At the far end of the clearing, she saw Raindrizzle appear out of a hollow underneath a gorse bush. A large and powerful white tom appeared behind him, his sharp amber eyes immediately focused on her and the rest of the ThunderClan patrol. Petalpaw recognized him from her first gathering. Webstar dismissed Raindrizzle then called out to a pale gray tom that had been talking with a few warriors. As he joined the WindClan leader, Petalpaw recognized him as Webstar's deputy Dovenose.

The two toms padded over to them. Webstar's gaze swept over the ThunderClan patrol, his eyes lingering on each cat before he spoke. "What brings you all here? Raindrizzle said it was urgent."

Larkeye stepped forward, his voice steady and respectful. "ThunderClan has been facing a couple of rogue encounter. Some of our clanmates suspects there may be a larger group of them as two different groups of rogues had two cats one of our warr recognized. Gorsestar has sent us to each clan to see if this is a threat to all clans or just ThunderClan."

Webstar's eyes narrowed as he processed Larkeye's words. He exchanged a brief glance with his deputy, Dovenose, before looking around the hollow. "Dovenose, please get Hickorytail and Graypaw."

Dovenose nodded and swiftly departed, disappearing into two of the dens. Petalpaw's heart pounded with anticipation as she waited for the WindClan deputy's return. She glanced at her patrolmates, noticing the mixture of tension and curiosity in their expressions. After a few moments, Dovenose with two cats in tow. Hickorytail, a sturdy brown warrior, and Graypaw, a young gray apprentice, followed closely behind.

Webstar waves his tail to the two. "Hickorytail and Graypaw encountered rogues a couple dawns ago."

"Where?" Tinybreeze asked.

"They were just inside our borders." Hickorytail replied. "I was training Graypaw when they emerged from the moor."

"They looked nasty." Graypaw spoke up. His voice was soft and Petalpaw could see a twinge of fear in his eyes. "There was a large yellow tom leading them. He seemed aggressive."

"He had no respect for Clan boundaries." Hickorytail added, his darker brown tail twitching.

Petalpaw's mind began to race. Was the yellow tom the same one she had seen on Whitepth's patrol? Could some of the cats that Whitepath saw yesterday have been there too? She looked at her clanmates, their expression showed the same curiosity and concern.

"A yellow tom?" Larkeye asked.

Graypaw nodded. Larkeye turned to Petalpaw and Ravenfeather. "You saw a yellow tom, didn't you?"

Ravenfeather looked down at Petalpaw and gave her a look that read you tell them. Petalpaw took a deep breath before she spoke.

"Yes, we did." She mewed. "We saw him with three other on a border patrol. Whitepath confronted him. He did seem nasty and aggressive."

"And Whitepath recognized two of the cats from that encounter in another encounter he had yesterday." Ravenfeather finished.

Webstar's gaze intensified as he listened to Petalpaw's words. He could see that the yellow tom appearing in both ThunderClan and WindClan territories was not by chance. He exchanged a brief glance with his deputy, Dovenose, before turning his attention back to the ThunderClan patrol.

"Sounds like this might be a threat to all clans." He mewed.

"Or at least not just ThunderClan." Dovenose added. "We will have to see what ShadowClan and RiverClan tells your other patrols."

Webstar addressed Larkeye and the ThunderClan patrol with a determined expression. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. WindClan will remain vigilant and gather any further information we can."

Larkeye nodded, acknowledging the responsibility they shared. "Of course, Webstar. ThunderClan will do the same.L

With their task completed, Larkeye signaled for the ThunderClan patrol to gather and make their way back to their own territory. Petalpaw couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and unity. The meeting with WindClan had been productive, and she had witnessed firsthand how crucial it was for the clans to support each other in times of crisis.

As the ThunderClan cats retraced their steps through the moorland, Petalpaw's mind was filled with thoughts of the rogue threat and what ShadowClan and RiverClan would report. She couldn't wait to reunite with the other patrols and share the information they had gathered. Troubleing times were ahead, and whatever lay in store for the clans, Petalpaw would be ready.
