Who's the Nihilist Now?
"You can't fix the world, so forget the heartache,
Sip your wine and suck your tears,
Have a ride in this rollercoaster called life.
Get used to it, this is how it is,
You can't beat them, so join them.
What's more powerful than powerlessness?"
Brave hearted Danko, you lead your people out of the woods.
You saved them from the darkness and despair,
You ripped your heart out, used it as a light.
They complained and whined on the way.
When it was over, their eyes met the light,
They exclaimed in awe and glee,
They ran to hug the brightness.
You fell as you bled, your fiery heart in your hands.
Who thanked you?
Daring Icarus, you tried to reach the sun.
Your wings were made of wax, and your father warned you,
"Son, don't fly too close to the sun".
Ambition was your weakness, your life melted away.
Who saw the good in you?
And that is all life is, a timeline to enjoy,
A moment to explore and a fragment to implore.
You see the eyes of death, and fear takes you ahold,
Death swallows you up whole, as you fall before a door.
As your knuckles knock, the big gates open up,
You smile and ask for entrance, but the Being squints and sighs,
"Who do you happen to be? I have never known you.
You wasted your life in cheers and tightened fear's control.
You expected happiness from reading coffee cups,
Superstition ruled your life and delusions took your mind.
Who do you happen to be? I have never known you.
Leave the gates behind, you stranger, and turn where you belong".
The gates close as your tears fall down,
"Please, have mercy!" you screech,
But the doors will never open up to greet someone called "you".
Cherish your life the way it is, perfection's unreachable.
Never aim to better yourself, for the efforts are in vain.
But when you try to question my ways, I will ask "Who's the nihilist now?"
Worth is determined not by external validation, but by internal value...
