Petals

Its been days since I got out of the hospital. Its been days since my last encounter with Jungkook. I sigh as I've read the date on the paper I'm holding....

"September 1" I mumbled and I let out a half-hearted laugh. What a great day to forget my feelings and memories.

"Jiminie?" Someone knocks on my door.

"Its open!" I said as I put the paper on the table. The door opened revealing Jeonghan hyung. My hyungs decided I should stay at this house, since Jungkook lives in our apartment.

"Hey Jiminie, someone is looking for you" Jeonghan said.

"Who?" I asked.

"Me" Someone said as another person entered the room.

"Namjoon hyung" I said as I stood up and hug him. I haven't seen him since the day Hoseok hyung got his surgery. I felt Namjoon hyung hug me back.

"I'm so sorry I've been missing out on you. I had to go back at Ilsan for my parents" Namjoon hyung said as we let go.

"Ah that's fine hyung" I said.

"Well come on i'll treat you somewhere" Namjoon hyung said.
"Um sure? Let me get a jacket" I said as he went downstairs with Jeonghan hyung. I took a jacket and my phone and wallet quickly. Then I just went downstairs.

The cold air hit me as soon as we got out of the house. I run my hand through my hair. The sky is kind of dark, it feels like its gonna rain.

"So you're really gonna do it?" Namjoon hyung asked.

"Yeah, he wanted it anyways" I said.

"Do you want it though?" Namjoon hyung asked.

"Yeah" I said. I saw hyung sigh.

"You know you're a bad liar" Namjoon hyung said. I gave him a half-smile.

"I guess I am" I replied.

"Jimin, I don't think Jungkook wanted this" Namjoon hyung said.

"He said he will pay for my surgery, of course he wanted it" I said sarcasticly.

"You know Jungkook is not like that, and I'm sure you knew it because you two basically know each other for how many years" Namjoon said causing me to bit my lip.

"I-I know, but I d-- I think its for the best to do this, so Jungkook and I can start a brand new life" I said.

"I don't get it, you two basically love each other" Namjoon hyung said.

"If he does then why am I suffering?" I ask causing Namjoon hyung to stop walking.

"I don't know, I mean ugh this is so hard to explain" Namjoon hyung said.

"Exactly" I said as we kept walking.

"He's probably confused?" Namjoon hyung said.

"Confused? Nah, I don't think so" I said.

"I think he is" Namjoon hyung just said as we entered the cafe.

"I'll get our orders, just look for a seat" Namjoon hyung said as I nodded.

I sat on the very back against the wall. I look around and noticed there are a few people around, good thing it's not crowded today. I just waited for Namjoon hyung. Minutes later he came back with two cups of hot chocolate? And some brownies.

"Its cold today, so I got us these" Namjoon hyung said as he put the tray on the table and sat across from me.

"Thanks hyung" I said as I took my cup.

"Anytime" Namjoon hyung said. We enjoy some minutes of silence and small talks about what happened to him in Ilsan.

"Oh shoot! Jin hyung is going to kill me!" Namjoon hyung said as he looks at his watch.

"Ahhh hyung, you better hurry if you are meeting him. You know how mad he gets when you are late" I said.

"Ah yeah! Well Jiminie I'm happy as long as you're happy. I don't know if you made the right choice or not, but I'm here to support you always" Namjoon hyung said as he stood up. I smile as I got up and gave him a quick hug.

"Thank you hyung" I said as we bid each other farewell. Once Namjoon hyung left, I stayed in my seat with my hot chocolate and brownie. I sigh in annoyance as I realized I already finished my dri--

I can't breath. I started coughing flower petals on the table, I try to hold it in, but it hurts so much. I felt my eyes watered as I kept coughing. That happened for another minute and then it eventually stop.

"What a mess" Someone said as I look up and saw an old lady.

"I-I'm so sorry I'll clean this up" I said as my cheeks flushed in embarassment.

"Wait" The old lady said as she looks at the petals.

"Ahh I knew it" She said.

"Knew it?" I asked.

"Do you know what the petals meant?" She asks and I shook my head 'no'.

"The petals tell you about the feelings of the person you love for you" She said.

"Oh" I just said. She pointed at a purple petal on the table.

"That's a purple hyacinth" She said.

"Does it mean something?" I asked.

"It means 'I'm sorry'" She said as I felt my heart ache a little. Of course Jungkook is sorry for not loving me.

"Then the stripes one are carnations which means 'Sorry I can't be with you'" She said as she pointed the striped ones.

"Then that one is a forget-me-not which means memories or true love" She said as I let out a small gasp.

"That can't be" I said.

"And look what we have here" She said as she held my cup up.

"W-What is it?" I asked as I felt nervous. She smiles as she lowers my cup, so that I can see what's inside. I felt everything stop as I stare at the red petal inside the cup.

"A red rose" She said.

"Love" She added as I felt a tear escaped my eye.

"T-That's impossible" I said in disbelief.

"My child, the one you love is indenial that's why. Most people will only have purple hyacinths or striped carnations, but you my dear have a red rose" She said.

"Just give him a while to realize it" The old lady said as she gave me a smile and left. I sat there in shock as I stare at the red petal inside my cup....

"Could it be-- no it can't be" I mumbled as I remember the words Jungkook said to me.

September 1

I sat on the bench waiting for my turn. All of them supported me and made me feel that everything is going to be okay. Now I'm all alone in this empty hallway of the hospital. The silence is killing me.

"Can I really do this?" I mumbled to myself.

"Jimin hyung?" Someone said making me look up.

"Joshua! What are you doing here?" I asked him since they are not allowed here.

"I was worried, so I sneak in" He said.

"Aish don't get in trouble now" I said to him. He just gave me a smile.

"Anyways hyung, I know this is nerve-wracking and I just want to say that whatever happens, I'll always be here and I will always like who you are" Joshua said as he held both of my hands. I smiled at him.

"Thank you so much" I said.

"Anything for you Jimin hyung" He said as he gave me a hug. I hug him back as I felt myself tearing up.

"Well go now before you get caught" I told him. He took a step back and lean in to me. I closed my eyes and... I felt a pair of soft lips on my forehead. I opened my eyes and saw him blushing.

"Fighting Jimin hyung" Joshua said as he left. I touch my forehead and smile bitterly.

"I wished I fell inlove with you" I mumbled.

"Mr. Park? We're ready" Someone behind me said, and I look back and saw a doctor standing there in the door.

"Oh I'm coming" I said as I followed the doctor to the operating room.

I guess there's no turning back now. Happy birthday Jungkook, and I wish you the best. I love you Jeon Jungkook. Goodbye.

Happy birthday to our Golden maknae~ Jungkookie!! I wish him good health and him staying who he is!! Ahhh I can't believe he's 20/21 years old now! 😭 I hope he stay child-like in his minds~ (hoping him and Jimin will reveal their relationship! XD) and Jungkook's cover is 😍😍😍
