(Unedited)
We drove for a long time passing the towns square and entering into an unknown place. Aiden successfully maintained the suspense of our surprise getaway by diverting the topic whenever I try to ask him about our destination. I tried to know about our whereabouts by looking outside the shutter, but for my disappointment, the road was dark and poorly lit, I couldn't find a board indicating where we were.
"Aiden please tell me where are we going?" I gave in and asked him.
"Surprise!" Is all he answered and chuckled to himself.
I pouted and huffed at his childish behaviour, although I knew I was the one behaving like that. I caught him smiling at me.
"Eyes on the road" I muttered, displaying a huge smile. He quickly looked at the road, we drove a little more.
"Almost there" he announced and I sighed, he kept repeating this for a while now.
The car came to a halt. We got down but I couldn't decipher the place, the darkness clouded my vision. Aiden grabbed my arms, my heart skipped a beat but this time it wasn't the butterfly effects. It was panic taking over my senses. I wondered what we were doing in an isolated, most importantly dark and at night. My sense screamed danger in the top of its lungs.
"Why are we here?" I asked him and retracted from his touch.
My mind travelled to all the wrong places, screaming from rape to murder and all things evil like sacrifice and omens. I took a few steps backwards and quickly sat in the car, trying to take my phone.
"Seriously dude?" I heard Aiden ask and laugh uncontrollably, he fell on the ground and laughed even more.
"Come on girly, let me show this to you" he controlled his laughter, although, a few times laughter erupted beyond his control.
I shook my head and stayed still in the seat unmovingly. That douchebag looked at my panicked state and laughed some more.
"I'm not going to murder you, although... I guess its a suitable place to dispose of a body" he said and thought seriously.
My heart jumped out of it rib or that was what I felt. I took out my phone hastily and dialled the first person that was in my recent dial list. It was Cole and that idiot didn't answer it.
"Elen, this is the place I and my mom visit when I was a kid" he started and gestured behind him.
I immediately understood how annoyingly stupid I was. I couldn't reply to his statement, I didn't know what I was supposed to say to him but I knew that he missed his mom more than he shows to others. I got down from the car, he looked at me, pain visible in his eyes. I looped my fingers in his, securing his hands and his affection. Aiden smiled at my action and held my hands tightly.
"You want to go in?" I asked him and he nodded.
We went forward, my eyes started adjusting to the dark. I could see the fences and a small isolated cabin. The ground turned a little uneven due to the grass or some plants. Aiden directed us towards the cabin and he clicked something. The lights turned on. I stared awed at the blossomed yard, beautiful wildflower plants have grown taller than my hips. The night blurred the beauty of the place, giving a dark ocean feeling to it.
"Beautiful" I mumbled, awestruck.
"Not more than you" he uttered. I turned to him, dumbstruck by his sudden confession.
"What?" I asked him again.
"Ahh... I know... That this place is beautiful, why don't you come inside?" He asked hastily and went inside the cabin. I sighed and followed him.
The cabin looked outdated but it had a comfortable and cosy feel to it. The interiors were nicely arranged but small particles of dust-covered them. I brushed my fingers at the painting that hung on the wall, it was a painting of a forest covered in snow. It looked real and beautiful.
"It was painted by my mom" I heard Aiden say.
"It looks beautiful," I said, still mesmerized at the painting.
"It is" he agreed and extended a cup of something.
I took it and noticed it was soft drinks. I raised my eyebrows and he answered: "I have it in my car, we only have mugs in the cabin".
I smiled and drank it, roaming around the cabin, taking in all the details of it.
I walked out of the cabin and looked at the yard full of wildflowers. I settled on the ground and enjoyed the fresh air and the fragrances of flower in the air. Aiden joined me on the ground.
He lied on the ground and patted the place next to him, I lied with him and he guessed at the sky. The sky was graced with full of magnificent bright stars and a full moon, the night seemed to have a magical feeling too. Everything little things had its own life, it was as if the night was so much alive than the other nights, a part of me said the changes were an effect due to Aiden lying next to me and I know its true.
"There was a time I hated the moon" I started and Aiden huffed dramatically at my confession.
"You hate the moon? Seriously?" He asked, shocked at my statement.
"Why can't you let me finish it?" I asked him sweetly with a sickening sarcastic smile.
"Sorry, go on" he answered sheepishly and boy, he looked cute!
"I once hated the moon when someone promised or took the moon for a witness, I always thought the moon as a liar, changing its shape from time to time. It wasn't constant so I criticized the idea of a moon for a rightful witness but one night, I was on the shore with my mother and it was a full moon like today. I stared at the moon and realized, that the moon never changes its form but it was the human that experiences its changes due to the rotating of the world we live in. It was always constant" I explained to him.
Aiden listened carefully at my little elaboration. "It was us Aiden, it was how we saw it, the moon was the real example of the statement that "The appearances are deceptive". I concluded.
"It is true," he said and smiled at me.
We stared at the sky for some more time, getting lost in the ocean of stars. Aiden's hand brushed on my elbows and my body heated to his accidental touch. I retracted my hands quickly, he held my elbows deliberately this time. I glanced at his face, perplexed by his action. He travelled his fingers along with with with the elbows, the sensation of the moment was heady. My body inched closer to him in his own accord. We sat upright on the ground, lost in the eyes of each other.
We were so close, the heat from his body radiated towards mine. I inched a little closer and decided to take the leap as my senses don't want me to wait anymore.
Our lips connected, slowly at first, sweet and melodic, moving in its own pace, exploring the boundaries, hindering all the untouched feelings.
We closed the remaining gap and our kisses turned steamy, igniting the fire within me.
We fell to the ground still locked on our embrace. My long-desired dream of kissing Aiden met my expectations, it was more than what I dreamed of. The feeling was raw, I have never experienced anything like that before, it wasn't like its not my first time but let's not talk about it now.
We kissed more passionately, his tongue traced my upper lips, he bites slightly at it and my body blazed in the fire. Our tongue collided together I'm sync. I heard my phone ring in my jeans pocket, I ignored it, not wanting to let go of Aiden. It rang again disturbing our little moment.
I groaned and pulled away from him, I checked my phone, it displayed Coles name in it.
"I am busy, call me later" I answered, yelled at the phone and hanged.
I noticed Aiden smirking at my tendencies and I felt something akin to shame.
"We are still trying" Aiden informed, still smirking at me.
"Yeah" I answered sheepishly and looked at the ground, avoiding his gaze completely.
"But I guess it is okay to try it again" he mumbled and inched closer.
