Bath

Anne was helped down from her family's carriage at the step of the Royal Crescent where her family had taken lodgings. The door opened with a stern looking Butler frowning down at her. Anne walked up the steps  and into the house. One of the footman took her coat and hat and another footman lead upstairs to the family parlor. As soon as the footman announced her Sir Tony stood up and solemnly greeted her. "Anne we weren't expecting you so soon and rather inconvenient" said grumbled Sir Tony. Anne just shook her head quickly and walked to her brother. "I am sorry brother but with Laura Odinson's accident there was really no need for me to be there." answered Anne

Elizabeth stood up and scoffed "The whole thing was an embarrassment really couldn't Miss Odinson be more careful" snipped Elizabeth. Anne gasped "Elizabeth it was an accident I can assure you Laura didn't do on purpose" said Anne firmly.  Elizabeth just shook her head "Well that may be but still it is an inconvenience" she answered. Just as Anne was going to speak Anne notice someone clearing their throat. Anne looked around Elizabeth to see Mrs. Potts "Miss Anne you must be tired would like some tea to refresh yourself" asked Mrs. Potts. Anne was surprised to Mrs. Potts there so she raised an eyebrow at the women but quickly nodded. "Yes Mrs. Potts that would be great thank you" replied Anne. Mrs. Potts handed her the cup of tea which Anne took "So Miss Anne how was the journey here I hope it all went well and you left the Odinsons well" said Mrs. Potts. Anne just took sip of the warm drink before responding "Mrs Potts it was a fine journey and the Odinsons are doing well as expected given the circumstances, but how are you I must admit I am surprised to see you here" replied Anne.

"I invited her as my companion since there was no else to accompany us to Bath" responded Elizabeth. Anne just looked at her teacup and gave a slight nod. "Of Elizabeth, I hope you have enjoyed yourselves while you have been here" said Anne. Mrs. Potts gave a slight smile and went to respond but Sir. Tony just shook his head "No, Bath had sadly been empty of worthwhile company" said Sir Tony with disgust. Elizabeth nodded "Yes, brother I agree those among the ton in Bath is  severely lacking as of late" said Elizabeth. "Well, now Miss Anne is here it should be better" said Mrs. Potts. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and scoffed "That's the most amusing thing I have heard in a while dear Pepper you say the most amusing things to think Anne good company" said Elizabeth with a laugh. Anne stood up "I think I am going to go lie down for a bit it was a long journey and I am tried" said Anne and left the room quickly. "See Mrs. Potts Anne is such a bore can't even stand to keep us company more than five minutes maybe it's for the best her complexion was rather shallow maybe rest will best for her " said Sir Tony. Elizabeth nodded "Anne's complex is rather dreary I am afraid she got that from our father there is no cure for that" said Elizabeth as she wrinkled her nose.

A few weeks later Anne was out shopping and was in a bookstore looking at the latest novels. She picked up a handsome edition of Childe Harold Pilgrimage it was leather bound in a beautiful green. "I truly enjoy that novel it's truly a masterpiece and Lord Byron is a genius " said a deep voice that startled Anne to where she almost dropped it but a hand caught just in time. Anne looked up to see Mr. Laufeyson with book in hand and smiling at her. He was really close so took a step back "Mr. Laufeyson what a surprise and Yes, Lord Byron's works are good but as for a masterpiece I find them shallow and weak, I am a little more partial to Austen who is wittty and she has a true understanding of the human nurture" answered Anne.
Mr. Laufeyson just laughed and set the book down.
He shifted a little before picking up blue bound book "I agree Miss. Anne Austen does have witty and uncanny way to get the human nature perfectly on paper" responded Mr. Laufeyson as he waved a copy of Emma.
He thumbed through the pages "I mean look at Emma it is such a delightful book I spent a many enjoyable afternoon reading it" said Mr. Laufeyson.

Anne just gave him a small smile "It was entertaining novel my but I enjoyed Sense and Sensibility I found Eleanor a little more relatable and selfless than Emma who I found selfish and only thought of what would make her life more enjoyable" said Anne. Mr. Laufeyson just was about to respond when the door opened and group of people came bursting in. "MISS ANNE" said a loud voice which made Anne turned to see Mrs. Banner, Admiral Banner and Captain Barton standing in the front of the store. Anne's eyes widen in surprise "Mrs Banner what a delightful surprise what are you doing in Bath?" she asked in a surprise tone. Mrs Banner walked forward "Oh Miss. Anne we are here take the waters because this old hulk of man here has been having trouble of swelling of his joints" answered Mrs. Banner grasping Anne's hands.

Anne just smiled than gave a nod to the gentleman "Admiral and Captain I hope all is well" said Anne as she looked straight into Barton's eyes who wasn't smiling. Admiral Banner stepped forward "It is better now that we are in your company Miss. Anne your company itself is enough to soothe these old bones" said the Admiral. Mr. Laufeyson stepped forward "I agree sir Miss Anne is truly some of the best company you can keep just now we were discussing which of Miss Jane Austen's novels is best" said Mr. Laufeyson. The Admiral and Mrs. Banner looked at him with a slight nod Anne made the introductions. Mrs. Banner looked at her brother "Clint isn't Austen your favorite novelist I think I remember you saying you were partial to Eleanor over Marianne" said Mrs. Banner.
Captain Barton "Yes Natasha she reminded of someone I once knew someone who was very dear to me some one who I thought had a lot of sense of herself but that turn out not to be true in the end she was just a flighty as Marianne" answered Barton firmly as he looked to Anne quickly than back at his sister.

Mr. Laufeyson cleared his throat "Well Miss. Anne relates to Eleanor as well don't you think Miss Anne reminds you of Eleanor who is patient and thinks of others not just herself" said Mr. Laufeyson. Mrs Banner and Admiral nod. Anne looked quickly at Captain Barton who was just meet her eyes "It has been to many years since I have read it I really don't remember the novel well" he responded quietly. Anne just frowned but said nothing. After a few minutes Anne gave a small curtsy "Mrs. Banner if you would please excuse me I just remembered I am meeting a friend for tea soon" she said quickly. Mrs. Banner just nodded "Of course my dear I hope to see you more while we are in Bath wouldn't we Clint" said Mrs. Banner with a slight smile. Captain Barton "Of course it's always delight to be in Miss. Anne's company I do hope we get to spend more time together" he answered with a smile. Anne felt her heart jump a little at his words.

Mr. Laufeyson cleared his throat "Miss Anne would you allow me to company to your home?" asked Mr. Laufeyson. Anne would had been watching Captain Barton turned her head at his words and was surprised "It's not that far I will be fine I promise" answered Anne. But Mr. Laufeyson moved her arm to to crook of his arm. "I insist Miss Anne it would be my delight to accompany you" said Mr Laufeyson and he guided her out of the bookstore. Barton just shook his head as he watched them leave, "Well brother don't you think that Mr. Laufeyson was a pushy with Miss. Anne" said Mrs. Banner. Admiral Banner just nodded "Yes, sister I couldn't agree more" said Captain Barton. He frown wondering what Mr. Laufeyson was up to with Miss Anne and what he was doing in Bath.
