Siren's Call

Siren's Call
My friends tied me to the mast
Like good, naïve friends do
When I heard the siren calling
Pulling you towards the water's depths
They knew my will would never last
Your will may be your conscience, but your heart decides your path
No ropes could keep me from the sea
What good would firm ground be without ever seeing a face?
Your song was too enchanting-
My voice echoed outwards, pulling at your heartstrings
But as I drown, I was set free
Your heart rested, and my nature was shown-
My lungs cried out, recanting
You were my prey, my visions showed
