autumn flames

autumn flames of orange and red

floating to Earth, to winters bed

to comfort now, protect below

the life anew, beneath winter's snow

warm breath interlace with cold shivers

terrain draped whilst the air quivers

coalesced wind, they overwhelm

naked trees, and tawny realm

autumn hues, paint rainbow sheath

on coffee colored canvas beneath

though gone, with springs welcoming wind

through new grown buds, you will live again
