2.

A few weeks had gone by and the robberies had shown no sign of slowing down, and Angel's dread was increasing as the inevitable creeped closer and closer to her and her little bubble of perfect.

Her eyes nervously fluttered around the dinner as she walked around serving guests and taking orders. Her nervous demeanor didn't slip by Elizabeth as she pulled the jittery girl aside.

"Sunshine, I love yah' but you're a nervous wreck. What's going on?" She asked carefully.

Angel shrugged casually "Just haven't slept a whole lot and drank to much coffee, yknow how that goes!" she said a little over enthusiastically in order to get her point across.

Elizabeth quirked an eyebrow up "M'kay whatever you say. I'm here if you need to talk." she said before turning back toward the counter and taking the order of a customer.

Angel was a nervous wreck, her hands were shaky and her eyes started to water. She couldn't do her job like this so she decided to take a moment to compose herself.

She quickly walked to the small bathroom down the hall and slammed the door. Her hands slammed down on the old sink as she looked at herself in the mirror above it.

Her eyes roamed her Pink diner uniform as she counted the coffee stains, trying to convince herself everything was okay when it in fact; was not.

She closed her eyes and felt the tears pierce down her cheeks, her hands clamped tighter around the sink and she inhaled a shaky breath.

Her Red hair fell toward her face as she let her head fall "What are you doing?.." she whispered to herself. She knew this wasn't a place she truly belonged.

After you live a life as tormenting as hers, a small dinner on a street corner never feels safe enough. She felt like she needed to go lock herself up in the White House, or chain herself to the Eiffel Tower. Anything to make it feel like no one could yank her out of her own life.

She knew she had to leave Benny's, she didn't want to leave Sam, or Elizabeth, or any of the older people that come in everyday just to order coffee and chat, or that stupid Pink stain, she didn't want to leave the first thing that had ever felt like a real home to her.

But she had to.

It wasn't a choice, she told herself, it was an obligation, to save Elizabeth from the heartbreak she'd feel when Angel was torn from her arms.

The only thing she could do to make it feel better was leave on her own free will, make it feel like she let herself jump into the free fall, instead of El feeling like she dropped her into the horrifying plummet.

Mind made up, Angel trudged into her small room and packed one of El's big purses full of clothes and essentials, like deodorant and tooth paste.

By the time she had added granola bars and just about all of her saved money, the Pink purse was bulging outward, threatening to explode from the oversized load shoved inside of it.

She snuck out into the hallway and threw the bag down by the back exit, and took a moment to calm herself before she said her subtle goodbyes.

The dim lit hallway fell into silence as Angel closed her eyes and took multiple deep breaths, trying anything to look calm and lower her heart rate.

After a few moment of calm she opened her eyes and slowly made her way down the hallway, starting at her worn white sneakers the whole way until she reached the swinging kitchen door.

Without hesitation she swung the door open and was met with the back of Sam, who looked to be cooking a burger for a customer.

when he heard the creak of the hinges he turned his head to the girl "Hey where have ya' been? El's been swamped kid! get out there!". Angel nodded "Oh okay Sam, Thank you for covering for me. I just needed to change my apron, spilled coffee on it." she said with forced enthusiasm.

Sam nodded "Course kid, now get back to work." Before Angel exited the kitchen she turned to him "Seriously Sam... Thanks." she said with a soft smile.

Sam quirked an eyebrow before letting her slip from the kitchen and without knowing it, slipping from his grasp too.

As the pale girl rounded the corner into the main dining area she spotted Elizabeth chatting with a customer, while Angel waited she took deep breaths in attempt to keep herself from crying, or chickening out on her plan.

Her eyes flickered up to the TV and noticed that the news was reporting on a new robbery this week, she watched as the helicopter camera zoomed in on what looked like Yellow car zooming down a narrow road with police cruisers hot on its tale- Angel wished she knew the area better so she could recognize where it was going.

All she knew was that the road the dinner was on lead to the highway- which lead to county lines- which lead to state lines. She knew she could get out of state no issue, it would be a lot of walking but she hoped somewhere along the way she could hitch hike or sneak onto a bus.

And getting a fake ID would be no problem, given that she grew up in her fathers atmosphere she had picked up how to do stuff like that along the way.

Then from there she could start fresh- hopefully- if everything went according to  plan. She was pulled from her thoughts by Elizabeth calling her name "Angel, What'cha doing standing in the corner like that?" she asked.

Angel looked up and gave a half smile "Oh I was just waiting to talk to you real quick- do you have a second?" she asked "Course Sunshine, what's up?".

Angel took a deep breath looking for anyway to say goodbye without really saying goodbye, then the counter top caught her eye- the Pink stain had vanished.

"I-Uh- just wanted to say thank you for getting that pink spot off the counter, I tried but it didn't budge so whatever you did... Thank you." Elizabeth gave her a confused look "Darlin' I did not get that Pink spot off- damn thing was 'bout impossible!"

Before either girl could question the mystery further Elizabeth gasped as she looked out the window "It's that car!" she yelped at Angel.

Angel gave her a confused look "Huh- what car?" she turned around and instantly recognized that infamous Yellow color that had been zipping all around the town- hell- the whole state really.

Angels eyes almost bulged out of her head as she watched the car pull into their parking lot and park, while Elizabeth scurried to call Nine One One- however it didn't seem like anyone else noticed anyway, no one really watched TV in the dinner.

'No!' Angel internally screamed, if the cops came by for this car that was inevitably involved with her father, that would have her placed way to close to the whole deal!

Angel froze as a figure climbed out of the car- It was a boy.

And God he was gorgeous, like a rose that managed to bloom in the middle of a downpour.

His face was perfect in every aspect and his tall build was enough to have any girl swooning in about half a second. The cloudy weather contrasted heavily with his tan skin.

He pulled the door back and walked into the dinner calmly, then strode toward where Angel was standing  'FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK' The girl thought as he walked towards her 'why do I have to be the only one serving right now!?' she internally screamed.

Before she could curse herself even more, the boy spoke. And then and there Angel knew, her plans were totally and utterly... Fucked.

"Hey"
