Sun 12th part 3 - The Interview

I do not own Devil May Cry and Persona, only the OCs that will appear in this story and the concept were inspired by 'Lesson Time: Never follow your teacher home' in 'Vergil's one-shots' by ZerlinaQuinn. So, I hope this turns out okay...now enjoy, my ninja clan.

PS - Sorry for the wait! I was quite busy with college and I was very stuck at the time, but now I have something to show, so I quickly write it up before I forget what I was supposed to write. (PSS - Very forgetful and lazy person, so get used to long waits.)

(Later on)

Vergil runs into a big building with grey walls without looking at the school and went through the hallway as he went upstairs until to the third floor and quickly knocks the door without too much force, avoiding to break anything like a certain idiot would do.
"Come in!" An elderly feminine voice called out, making Vergil enters the room and saw an elderly woman sitting in an office-chair behind the wooden desk with grey hair tied up in a bun, brown eyes with golden glasses and pale skin with wrinkles. She wears a clever grey blazer and pen-skirt. "Ahh...so you're Vergil Sparda, correct?"
"That is correct, Miss Barnett," The white-haired man confirmed it for her in a mature tone, which made her chuckle, smiled and rolls her chair to the front.
"Ha...you're a lot taller then I expected you to be," Miss Barnett chuckled, "If anything, you look like you're more fit to be a gym teacher or a male model."
"...May I take a seat, Miss Barnett?" Vergil asked with a stern tone.
"You may," Miss Barnett allowed him as the half-demon takes a seat and sit in a chair; sitting in front of her. "Now, some questions; your CV says you were homeschooled when you become eight, correct?"
"Yes, I have," Vergil confirmed it with a stoic expression, keeping a level-headed stance.
"May I ask why?"
"...Both of my parents died when my twin brother, Dante and me become eight-years-old and we were forced to move into an orphanage," Vergil told her, which isn't a complete lie, but isn't the complete truth either, "So...I was homeschooled until I was eighteen and I decided to travel the world."
"Oh yeah, your CV mentioned about that," Miss Barnett admitted, which Vergil nodded, "It also says you have read many different books and tales from different cultures, correct?"
"Yes, I have,"
"Then give me one example,"
"Alright then," Vergil accepted her challenge, "It's called the Labours of Heracles, where it takes place after he killed his wife and children; he went to the oracle at Delphi. He prayed to the god Apollo for guidance. Hercules was told to serve the king of Mycenae, Eurystheus, for 12 years. During these 12 years, Hercules is sent to perform twelve difficult feats, called labours."
"Mmmm...okay okay, so you know your stuff," Miss Barnett nodded, "You seem to have a very powerful and intimating sense from you, which most of my employee lack of."
"...I get that a lot, Miss Barnett," Vergil told her.
"Yes...alright, you're hired." Miss Barnett concluded, which caught Vergil off-guard despite keeping a straight face. "Having someone like you around would be a breath of fresh air with many quirky teachers around here."
"...Quirky?" Vergil raised an eyebrow and asks, "What do you mean by that?"
"That's not important right now," Miss Barnett ignored his question, "Though I will admit...I do not want to sound uncomfortable, but you have to be our second attractive teacher here,"
"...What do you mean?" Vergil asked with curiosity.
"Yes, it's our gym teacher, Jerome Norman," Miss Barnett told him, which completely caught him off guard, which she noticed his shock expression "Is something the matter? Are you acquainted with him?"
"...You could say that..." Vergil admitted embarrassingly as he looks away.
"I see, well I'm looking forward working with you, Mr Sparda," Miss Barnett said politely.
"I'm looking forward to it as well, Miss Barnett," Vergil politely responded as he stands up. "I'll see you tomorrow, correct?"
"Yes," Miss Barnett said as she stands up and the two shake hands.

Once she lets go of him, she grabs a sheet of papers and gives it to him.
"These are the notes of my last literature teacher worked on for his next lesson before I fired him," She told him, peaking his curiosity again.
"May I ask, why do you fired him?"
"...I wish to not discuss it," She vaguely told him, "Now, revised those notes and be ready for tomorrow, okay?"
"I will, Miss Barnett," Vergil ensured her.
"Now, farewell Mr Sparda,"
"Farewell Miss Barnett," Vergil said as he walks up to the door and walks out of the room.
"Mmm..."

Vergil closes the door behind him and sighs, "Finally, I managed to get the job...though...the fact that she mentioned Jerome...no, I should focus on getting home and get ready for tomorrow, but...why do I have a feeling something odd will happen tomorrow...weird..."

Vergil shrugs and went downstairs as well as getting out of the building, where he looks back and gets a better view of the school since he was rushing and thus, didn't have time to get a proper look at the school. He stares at the school for a good ten seconds and turns his head away from the school as he continues his path back home...waiting for the next day to start his work at Greenville high.

A/N - There! Now we can finally wait for the next day (In the story, not in real life just in case you're wondering). So, who is this Jerome person and what was his connection to Vergil? I'll explain more in details in the next few parts once he gets introduced. Now, I hope you guys enjoy this part and if you do, leave a comment and have a nice day, my ninja clan. Kuno out!
