Event One: (Available on 4/25)

(Open at the weapon shop after the player buys any weapon.)

Mie's Uncle: Hey kiddo, you short on cash? Maybe you could help me with some part time work.

Protagonist: A: Sure (Requires two courage.)

B: Not today. (Cancels event. Consumes no time slot.)

Mie's Uncle (A): Great. Just need you to clean a couple of model swords in the back. The store room is kinda creepy though so, take a flashlight.

(Tosses protagonist a flashlight.)

Swords on the left wall in the back. You'll know them when you see them.

Protagonist: (Nods. Heads to a dimly lit, eerie back room, grabbing three swords off a rack and polishes them.)

Text Box: This room is creepy, but it gets easier as time goes on.

(Player gets a courage increase.)

Protagonist: (Finishes 3rd sword.)

Mie's Uncle: (Enters the room, examining the blades.) Nice work kiddo. Feel free to come work here again, this is... really fine actually. Not half bad kiddo.

(Pays the protagonist.)

Mie's Uncle: I never caught your name actually. What was it?

Protagonist: (Appears to speak.)

Mie's Uncle: James huh? Nice name. My name is Reo.

Reo : Feel free to work here again if you wanna. I could use the help.

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Text Box; This is-

Protagonist: (Waves goodbye with a smile and leaves.)

Note: Starting this social link is required to work part time at the weapon shop, but from this point onward, working is not a part of the social link unless otherwise noted.

Event Two: 

Reo: Howdy kiddo, what's up? You got a minute?

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Reo: So I was thinking, the art of creating swords and stuff, I've always seen it as a form of art. You're an artist yourself right?

Protagonist: A: In a manner of speaking. (Best choice.)

B: If we can call this art. (Bad choice.)

C: How so? (Good choice.)

Reo (A):  Yeah man, with that notebook you're always carrying. You craft worlds with words, and I craft blades with metal.

Reo (B): It is art kid. Can't you see that?

Reo (C): Well we create don't we? You craft worlds with words and I craft weapons with metal.

Reo: We both take things mundane and weave something more from them. Many think that my crafts are things of destruction but... I disagree. The gun isn't evil, the user is. I just admire fine craftsmanship. Isn't there a certain beauty in this?

(Reo presents a highly decorated balde with a fancy handle.)

Reo: Beautiful isn't it?

Protagonist: A: It is. (Best choice.)

B: Looks dangerous. (Bad choice.)

Reo (A): Yeah. isn't it?

Reo (B): (Sighs.) You're missing the point kiddo...

Reo: This is not a weapon. It's art. You wanna see why?

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Reo: (Shatters the blade on the counter, the metal splitting into thousands of shards like glass.)

This sword looks great but it's trash in a fight. It's decorative. STill should've been crafted better though. You get me?

Protagonist: (Nods.) 

Reo: Then you're already a smart kid. A fellow artist like yourself, I can cut a few yen off your purchases if you catch my drift. Lemme show you some of my other crafts.

(Shows protagonist other swords mounted on the wall behind the counter before  a fade to black.)

Event Three: 

(Opens once again at the weapon shop.)

Reo: What's up kiddo?

(Examines a sword, deep in thought.)

Sorry if I seem distant. Just... thinking.

(Thinks for a moment.)

Mie still upset with me?

Protagonist: (Appears to speak.)

Reo: Yeah, that's fair. My relationship with my niece is... a little strained.

Protagonist: A: Why is that? You're nice. (Best choice.)

B: I can see why. (Worst choice.)

C: What do you mean? (Good choice.)

Reo (A): Thanks kid but...

Reo (B): Is that really needed?

Reo (C): I know she's mentioned it...

Reo: (Sighs) Her and I used to be close you see, but I've been so focused on work and making money as of late for... reasons... but she seems to think I don't care about her and... she's my niece I love her. Could you do me a solid and speak to her?

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Reo: Thanks kiddo. You're a good kid.

(Smiles and stands up.)

Anyways, enough sappy shit eh kid? Let's continue what we were doing. Lemme show you how to temper a blade...

Event Four:  (Is triggered by asking Mie to talk to Reo rather than speaking with Reo.)

Mie: Look he just doesn't have time for me. He's just become so intent on making money. he just... changed like a month ago and...

(Sighs.)

I'm trusting you on this.

Protagonist: (Nods as the trio enter the weapon shop, where Reo is working at a forge in the back. When Reo sees Mie, he greets her with a smile.)

Reo: Ah, Mie. Good to see you!

Mie: (Annoyed.) What do you want? Do you need to borrow money from my dad or some shit? You know he-

Reo: I wanted to apologize for not spending more time with you.

Mie: If you're sorry why not do something about it? We used to be close? What happened?

Reo: Kiddo... the reason I need this money is that adoption is expensive and... my wife and I have had issues with that. It doesn't justify my greed but...

Mie: (Sighs.) Yeah, that's fair I guess. Well, best of luck to you there.

Reo: Thanks kiddo.

Mie: (Smiles.) Well, I'll catch up later but I got a lot of homework so... see you later.

Reo: (Smiles.) Love you kiddo.

Mie: Love you too. I'll see you later. (Leaves.)

Reo. (Sighs. Deep in thought.)

Text Box: Reo seems depressed.

Protagonist: (Appears to speak.)

Reo: Huh? Oh. I'm fine. I'll tell you about it later. I... need some time alone.

Protagonist: (Nods and walks away.)

(Arcana rank up!)

Event Five: 

(Opens on James approaching a sleeping Reo.)

Protagonist: (Taps Reo's shoulder.)

Reo: Eh? Oh, hiya kiddo what's up?

Protagonist: A: Not much just came to visit. (Best choice.)

B: Wake up old man. (Bad choice.)

Reo (A): Ah, well, it's good to see you kiddo.

Reo (B): I'm not old. I'm only 34.

Reo: Anyways, I take it you wanna know about... the situation I'm in?

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Reo: Well... to make a long story short I didn't tell the whole truth. My wife... cannot bear a child, but I love her so I'm not leaving over that. I'm not trying to adopt. That was a lie, but... I do need money. I want a child of my own blood. So we are planning to hire a surrogate to bear a child. It's a lot to deal with...

Reo: Enough of such things. Come, let's make art. 

Protagonist: (Nods. Fade to black as the duo work on the forge.)

(Arcana rank up!)

(The protagonist can now craft various accessory items at the forge. Many of these are unique and new recipes are unlocked as the player gains proficiency. Said recipes will not be listed here as that's a game balance thing not a story thing.)

Event Six: 

(Open on James and Reo in the forge.)

Reo: You've gotten a knack for this kiddo.

Protagonist: A: I had a good teacher. (Best choice.)

B: Of course. I never fail. (Bad choice.)

C: Thanks. (Good choice.)

Reo (A): Thanks kiddo.

Reo (B): Trust me you will. Especially with that attitude. 

Reo (C): You're welcome kid.

Reo: You really area great artist. I hope my kid's a bit like you.

Protagonist: (Smiles and nods.)

Reo: Enough sappy stuff, I'll find out soon enough. I finally have the money I need so, let's focus on the art...

(Fade to black as the two continue to work.)

Event Seven:

(Open on Reo with a depressed look on his face.)

Reo: Oh... hi...

(Goes silent. Thinking.)

Protagonist: A: What's wrong? (Best choice.)

B: Rough day? (Good choice.)

C: Should I go? (Worst choice.)

Reo (A): Oh boy...

Reo (B): You have no idea...

Reo (C): No it's just...

Reo: So I got the money and go through all the legal issues and stuff but...

(Sighs.)

My wife can bear children. Turns out I'm the infertile one...

Protagonist: A: You still have Mie. (Best choice.)

B: You still have me. If that helps any. (Good choice.)

C: That sucks dude. (Bad choice.)

Reo (A/B): That's true but...

Reo (C): Kid sometimes I swear...

Reo: Look... I don't need money anymore so... well not as much, so I can charge less. Thanks for your help but I... need to think. Come back some other day OK?

Protagonist: (Nods and leaves.)

(Player now gets a 25% discount at the weapon shop!)

Event Eight: 

(Opens on Reo forging a blade with a bitter expression on his face.)

Reo: Oh. Hey.

(Reo sighs and continues working.)

Reo: I cannot have a child of my own. What do I do now? 

Protagonist: A: Be a good uncle to Mie. (Good choice.)

B: Adopt with your wife. (Best choice.)

C: Give up. (Bad choice.)

Reo (A/B): I guess but...

Reo (C): Will you at least attempt to be positive?

Reo: Man... I dunno. I need to think on something but... You and Mie... you have... this strange family of sorts almost don't you? Mie told me your little group is... a family? How does that work?

Protagonist: (Appears to speak.)

Reo: Family is... love? Not blood?

(Appears to think.)

Come back later OK? I... need to contemplate this idea.

Protagonist: (Nods and leaves.)

Reo: (Thinking to himself. Now alone.) Maybe... blood doesn't matter...

(Arcana rank up!)

Event Nine: 

(Opens on Reo now much happier, working eagerly on a blade.)

Reo: James! Oh yeah! Come in I need to speak with you!

Protagonist: (Enters, confused.)

Reo: So, family is love. Yeah? That got me thinking James. You are a kind young man who is willing to fight for his family. Blood or not. I may value blood but-

Protagonist: Blood... bad...

(Screen flashes red.)

Blood... bad...

(Begins to hyperventilate.)

Reo: Easy kid. Breath. It's OK. I don't know what happened to you in America but listen. 

 Protagonist: (Begins to breath more slowly and calm down.)

Reo: You OK?

Protagonist: (Nods.)

Reo: Kid, look. You've grown to mean a lot to me. From one artist to another, I love you. You're the son I can't have, and you will always be a part of my family.

(Reo smiles.)

If you need anything. Anything at all, just ask.

Protagonist: A: Thanks dad. (Best choice.)

B: Alright. (Good choice.)

Reo (A): Anytime kiddo.

Reo: Now come on. I'm working on a masterpiece...

(Fade to black as the two work on the sword.)

Text Box: You had a fun time working with dad.

Event Ten

(Reo smiles next to the forge as James enters.)

Reo: Kiddo! Great to see you!

(Signals the protagonist to approach.)

I wanted to give you a little something. Come here.

(Hands the protagonist the "Elegant Sword Handle".)

Reo: Consider it a gift. A reminder of the true beauty of art. That these weapons are not for death, but to protect life. They are art to be used for good. To protect your family.

(Smiles.)

You did good son. You really did. Feel free to use this forge anytime for anything.

(Arcana rank up!)

(The player may now craft various high end weapons and armors at the forge.)

Voice: I am thou.
Thou art I.
Thou hast heard this tale to its end.
Thou hast forged an unbreakable bond.
With the power of the Hierophant arcana.
Thou shalt now have neigh infinite power.
Power that will allow thou to reach the justice thou seeks.

Text Box: You have forged a bond that cannot be broken. You may now summon (ultimate hierophant persona.) The ultimate form of the Hierophant arcana.

Reo: Now, let's go grab some lunch. My treat kiddo.

(Fade out as the two leave.)

Text Box: You had a fun time getting lunch with dad.

Author's Notes: We will now return to the main plot. With three important notes.

1: The rank ten events for Hideo and Mie cannot be accessed before their personas awaken. As there is technically enough time to do so if one does their social link every day and never enters the Tale. As such, the player is simply prevented from doing so and if attempting to do so Hideo and Mie will state...

Mie (If trying to reach rank 10 before persona is awakened.): We should focus on the Tale for now. We can't have you getting framed.

Hideo (If trying to reach rank 10 before persona is awakened.): Yo man, we gotta run into that tale before you end up running from the law. We can hangout later OK?

Author's Notes; Again, this dialogue only occurs if the player is trying to do the rank 10 event before they acquire personas in the first Tale.

2: The Elegant Sword Handle is intended to be a component of the protagonist's ultimate weapon which can be crafted later. It is not to be confused with the farewell gift like those in Persona 5. The farewell gift for this social link will instead be an item called "Father's Gift", which is the sword handle of the blade broken in event two of the social link. Thought I would clarify that now. 

3: The protagonist must craft their ultimate weapon, hence the 'Elegant Sword Handle." I'm unsure on the other details of it at the time as that is a game balance issue.

The next part will be main plot.
