Chapter 3: Solo

As the sun peeks over the horizon, Speranza rouses herself from sleep. She pulls her hood over her head again, looking out at the sleeping Italian town, ready to leave.

Her eyes travel to the wounded assassin, still sleeping. He's very handsome, she has to admit, with his dark brown hair and warm brown eyes, the stubble lining his chin, even the scar on his lip. He's pretty muscular too.

However, he's an Auditore. He belongs to a well known and important family. Why, he'll probably be the mentor for the assassins one day too.

Chilometris, her family...they're not so important. In fact, she's among one of the few in her family with assassin training at all.

I can't let what happened to me affect him, which is why I must leave, she reminds herself.

She leaves a small sack of food on the floor near his weapons. She pads across the stone, leaning down next to Ezio. She presses a goodbye kiss to his forehead, as a sign of respect, before performing a leap of faith onto the street below.

Ezio wakes up slowly, stretching. He hasn't felt this rested in a long time, and he smiles lightly as his eyes adjust to the early morning light.

"Speranza?" he asks through a yawn.

He looks around only to see an empty turret. A small bag full of fruit and vegetables sits next to him, and he grabs it. It must be for him. Everything else is gone.

He can't help but feel disappointed. He's never heard of the Chilometri family, and was planning to ask her about it. Maybe get to know her better too. She seemed so...interesting, not to mention very beautiful. He's learned to appreciate a beautiful woman every now and then.

By the looks of things, she's gone and she isn't coming back.

He stands up, checking the bandages. The bleeding has stopped, thankfully, and now he can get back to his friends and ask them about the Chilometris.

He dresses quickly, eating the small amount of food and leaping off the roof, disappearing into the crowds of the Venice streets.
