6. Emotions Aren't A Curse!
To all those "I'm dead inside" people who aren't joking when they say that.... take a seat. It's time to state some facts.......
Okay, besides air, food, and water what is something else we can't live without?
"Clothes!" Ehe no...
"Wifi!" *snatches the phone out of your hand.* NO!
"Emotions!"
Actually, yes!
You all are probably thinking to yourself "oh this is stupid, what is she talking about?" But just think for a moment, even if you're "emo" and trying not to have emotions, you still have an emotion. It's like breathing, except you can never stop doing. Like ever! No matter how hard you try, Didn't think of that, did you?
Mind=Blown!
So then why say we need it if we do it constantly anyway?
Well, there's a difference between having emotions and holding them back. (Some people actually hold their feelings back because others around them give them a bad wrap about it, rude!) Usually, this happens in those annoying, cliche BadboyXGoodGirl books. Where the bad boy only shows a player facade and has no applaudable emotion whatsoever. (The nasty emotions is basically what they have. Usually, they hide how they feel... annoying..)
This is kinda hard to explain, but the main point I'm trying to get across is, you shouldn't hold things in. Yet people make it seem like feelings are some sort of curse.
"Oh no! I feel happy today... RUN!"
Emotions are another way to help us express how we feel, and what makes us human! Without them, we wouldn't be what we are. Humans are very unique in that sense, so use what you have. If you're happy, strut your stuff! If you feel sad, let the waterworks begin. Don't ever think your feelings aren't valid!
If you hold most of your feelings in (if it's something strong, which could be negative or positive), over time things build-up and some unpleasant thoughts may roam depending on the emotion. Holding in the pain and hurt could even lead to depression or social disorders.
Of course, there's a time and place to feel certain things, but I've been told so times how much people hate emotions, and feelings. Sometimes I think we all do (Those sad dog commercials get me every time!) but in all honesty people, emotions are a wonderful thing.
For a teen, however, emotions can be deceiving (especially the 'love' emotion. Kinda comes on and off like a light switch.) and should be cared for with caution.
The one thing that will always change constantly is our emotions because you don't feel the same way every day. That's an amazing thing!
To those people having a bad day (or for future bad days to come) just remember this feeling doesn't last forever. Your little shining sun will find its way back to you again. After all, it is your friend.
*Thinks of the movie Inside Out*
Keep this in mind next time you think you've fallen in love, or have this burning passion to punch someone in the face (No.... just me? Oh, okay....)
Embrace emotions with open arms! There's no spell cast on you, I promise :)
Vote and comment on your thoughts about emotions. I also take requests of what topics to do next, so feel free to spill out ideas. Can't say I'll do them but it's always nice to get ideas.
Mickey out, with style 😎
*smoothly drop the mic, then walks out*
