He did listen to me. We didn't stop kissing until it was time to pick up my sisters. He walked me to my car and we made out until the last moment. It was freaking awesome. My heart was racing, butterflies fluttered in my stomach and my whole body was humming after such a sizzling experience.

I didn't know what this was, but it felt like bliss.

A goofy smile played in my face as I got my sisters from school. I didn't even mind when Mom told me that she was leaving with Riley for the rest of the afternoon. Which was fine with me.

Every week, she dedicated an afternoon to one of us, it was sort of like a Mom-daughter date night. To be honest, it had been a while since we'd had one of those.

When I was living here, I was always busy with Chris, but she was always understanding. We used to have some late night chats too.

Tonight, it was Riley's turn. However, Mom didn't have time to go to the grocery store. She did leave us money for a pizza since Dad was getting home late too.

Riley was so happy for her special time with Mom. She had put on a pretty yellow dress and a white sweater. Her brown hair was down for a change. Mom was taking her to a play and they were both looking their best. They hopped inside the car with excitement written in their faces. Haley and I watched them from the front porch as the blue van rode away.

Just as the car disappeared around the corner, I turned to my sister. "So, what do you want to do?"

Her eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "Could we do a Star Wars marathon?"

"We won't have time to watch all the movies, though." It was Friday, but I was pretty sure Mom wouldn't approve to have Haley awake all night watching men fighting with laser words. They weren't that violent, but Mom had a strict policy about action movies and bed time. Her face fell down and I felt the need to make it up to her. "I think the first three ones would be okay, Hals. Plus, we can get pizza and I'm sure there's ice-cream in the freezer. How does that sound?"

She squealed, happiness oozing out of her. "Really great!"

Grinning, I gestured to the house. "We should probably start right now. We can call for the pizza when the first movie ends." Almost jumping up and down, Haley made her way back to the house. Amused, I trailed behind. After our rocky start, I was happy to be able to bond with her.

Everything was going great until the end of the first movie. Turns out, it was the only Star Wars movie on Netflix. Haley tried to search for the next two throughout the app without success. Her bottom lip protruded while her eyes casted down. She left the Wii remote on the table and sat with crossed arms on the couch, clearly disappointed.

"Hals, I'm sorry. We could watch Harry Potter instead?" I scrunched up my nose as I watched her.

"It's not on Netflix either," she muttered in a low tone, while her shoulders slumped.

Gnawing on my lip, I thought it through. I was pretty sure that Chris had all the movies in his house. Yet, it was Friday. He was probably not home. My stomach churned uneasily. What if he wasn't? I would spend the rest of the night thinking about it. That was bound to be absolute torture.

However, when my eyes laid on my little sister pouting and all, I thought, suck it up, Farah. Taking a deep breath, I told her to wait up before I went to the kitchen and grabbed my phone from the counter, where I'd left it charging. I dialed Chris' number, while biting my nails.

"Hello?" My stupid heart skipped a beat at the mere sound of his voice.

"Hi Chris," I cringed at the high pitched tone that came out of my mouth. "It's, uhm, Farah. I'm doing a Star Wars marathon with Haley and we sort of ran out of movies." I closed one eye, feeling totally self-conscious. Did he not have my number on his phone? How could he not know that it was me calling? And hadn't we shared a freaking make-out session a few hours ago? "I wanted to ask if I could borrow the second and third movies."

A loud bam sounded on his side of the line. "Sure. I'm just on my way home. Do you want me to bring them by?"

I closed my eyes as I pressed my lips together, lifting my shoulders in excitement. He's coming! He's not out with some bimbo!

"We can walk to your house, no worries. And thank you," I barely managed to control my voice tone to appear nonchalant. I was elated and peeved at the same time. Being with Chris had always been so easy. Now, it was all filled with uncertainty. Not a pleasant feeling.

"It's okay. I'll bring them by." I was about to say something, when he cut the call. Furrowing my brows, I set the phone on the kitchen counter.

What is his deal? He could be cold and hot at the same time.

Breathing out, I pursed my lips together before padding to the family room. "Chris is bringing the rest of the movies," I announced to my sister as I plopped on the couch next to her.

She perked up immediately. "Is he staying?" She turned to me, her brown eyes glinting with glee.

"Er, I don't know..."

She stood up. "We should get the pizza, right?" she rubbed her belly, "I'm kind of hungry." I thought that she wanted to bribe Chris into staying, but I couldn't deny the fact that I wanted to see him again. Despite of everything, I seemed to be addicted. Yet, like every addiction, I felt like it was a dangerous game that could come back to bite me in the ass.

Not wanting to dwell too much on it, I busied myself making popcorn and calling to order a double-cheese pizza large enough for four people.

The bell rang and Haley beat me to open the door. She squealed like a little girl and I was pretty sure that she wasn't that excited for pizza. I placed the popcorn bowl on the coffee table and stepped to the main hallway just in time to see Chris closing the door after him. Haley beamed at me, showing me the DVD box and running back to the TV room.

My heart started to flutter as I found myself staring at those dark green eyes. "Hi," I licked my lips, feeling already dizzy.

"Haley mentioned pizza?" he raised one eyebrow, barely containing a smirk.

My stomach flipped as he took a step closer to me, and before making sure that my sister was not in sight, he brushed the back of his hand on my right cheek. "I guess it's the price for borrowing the movies."

"I guess so." He glanced back at the family room before turning back to me and pecking me lightly on the lips.

I was such a goner.

***

Gosh.

Thankfully, she left us to finish the movie while she went to the kitchen to start coffee. Both my sisters sat on the floor, while I lost my shoes and was sitting cross-legged on the couch next to Chris. Surreptitiously, he placed his hand over mine in a way that nobody would notice that we were holding hands. My hand tingled under his touch and I couldn't concentrate on the movie anymore.

Today is sweet Chris. What will it be tomorrow?

My stomach churned at the thought, but I shoved it away to the back of my mind, not without tightening my grip for a second.

The closing credits rolled in. Rather reluctantly, I pulled away my hand to get the movie out of the DVD player. My sisters were already half-asleep, so Mom sent them to bed. The front door creaked at the same time they were climbing to their room. Dad came in and was clearly taken aback by the fact that Chris was here. It wasn't a bad thing, though. He was just surprised to see him again back on the house. I could see the question mark drawn in his eyes as he gazed at me. However, he left us alone in the TV room as he padded to the kitchen to see Mom.

I placed all the cases back on their box before giving them back to Chris. His stare was intense. His thumb brushed mine while he received them. "Feel like going out for a walk?" his tone was rough, making my belly clench with need.

Inside, I was totally jumping up and down, raising a fist in the air. However, I bit my lip and managed to nod without letting my emotions out. "I'll just let my parents know." He bobbed his head while I practically sprinted to my parents.

So much for not showing eagerness.

I did hear him chuckle right before I walked through the kitchen and my cheeks warmed. Both my parents were seated by the table, a steamy mug in front of each. "Can I go out for a walk?" I asked cautiously, especially since Dad had given me the stinky eyes this morning. Dad shifted on his seat while Mom's lips curved up in a blissful smile. "Of course."

"Thanks," I mumbled before turning away. Right as I was about to step out of the room, I glanced at Dad. "I promise not to stay out too long." He gazed at me serious for a moment, before nodding his head. Honestly? He didn't have much of a choice, Mom was practically jumping up and down and I just stared at her with a please-behave look in my eyes. I mean, Chris was still in the house.

Before leaving, we stepped through the room and said goodnight to both my parents. Mom managed to act calm, despite her wide smile. Good grief. Talk about being discreet. The fact that Chris acted out completely nonchalant earned him brownie points.

As soon as we left the house, we totally assaulted each other. It was as if there was a high tension between us that had been built up during the afternoon. The little caresses here and there, the intense way he gazed at me.

It was practically impossible not to attack him when we were alone.

Hand in hand, we strolled through the neighborhood, still sizzling from feeling his lips on mine. The light breeze was refreshing as it nipped my blushed cheeks. Since it was past ten at night, the streets were quiet. Most houses had a few lights on, but the calmness gave off an eerie kind of feeling. Right after we crossed the street, on the opposite side of his house, he squeezed my hand. "What's your theme, Farah?"

Glancing at him, I could see the curiosity burning through his eyes. Knowing that I had the upper hand for once, my lips curved up in a conceited smile. "You have to tell me yours first."

He shoved me playfully by the shoulder. "It's really not that big of a deal." We stopped walking. I raised an eyebrow engaging him to go on and elaborate. He shook his head before rolling his eyes. "Star Wars," he admitted begrudgingly.

I blinked at him. "Are you for real?" He pursed his lips as I pulled away my hand from his. "You're such a geek Chris!" I placed a palm on my mouth trying not to laugh. Which was pointless, since he crossed his arms and sent me a playful glare that made me burst out laughing.

"Geeks are hot," he stated confidently. I almost catch myself saying, you are hot, but thankfully, I didn't. "Haven't you seen Glee or Flash?"

Tilting my head, I suppressed a smile. "That's what you have to keep telling yourself, Chris."

His green eyes glinted mischievously right before he took a couple of steps closer to me. I narrowed my eyes, but my heart started to flutter at how close he was. He leaned in and his nose was almost brushing with mine. His right hand wrapped around my waist before pulling me to him with a sudden thump.

Which was extremely hot.

I was so glad he was grabbing me because my knees felt like jelly around him. Especially when he was looking at me like that. His pupils were completely dilated and they were gazing at me just like a lion watches his prey right before he pounces on them.

My lips parted as his lips caressed mine at the same time he talked. "I'd say you're just being coy with me, Farah Dent. Your deep blush and your ragged breathing are indicators that you enjoy my geekiness and would also love to explore it as well." With a smug smile, he pulled away leaving me completely dumbfounded.

He coughed, bringing a tight fist to his mouth, clearly covering his laugh. "You're an idiot," I muttered before stomping away.

I heard forceful steps trailing behind me as he unsuccessfully suppressed his rough cackles. "Don't be like that, bookie!"

My blood started to boil at the old endearment. I stopped and turned around, full-on glaring at him. "Don't you bookie-me, you moron!"

I hadn't noticed how close he was. He had to stop himself from bumping against me. His eyes lit up amused before he burst out laughing like a maniac. I rolled my eyes while crossing my arms still sending daggers his way.

Then again, the way the side of his eyes had creased and he had formed tears of joy, combined with his loudness, didn't let me stay mad at him for long. I pursed my lips as a little giggle wanted to burst out but instead, I walked away from him again.

In no time, still hiccupping from his endless laugh, his hands encased my waist and spun me around. Without hesitation, he pressed his lips on mine. The swirling sensations I always felt when he kissed me surged out again, only that this time, the husky moan that burst from the back of his throat, made me clench my stomach. It was a good thing we were on the street, otherwise, I was sure clothing would start coming out in no time.

Breathless, we pulled apart. His eyes were darker and I found myself completely mesmerized at his burning gaze. It was such an intense moment. My eyes teared up as I conjured one thought, I missed you.

My heart tightened and I blinked, pressing my lips together. His hand cupped my chin, his thumb brushing my bottom lip. I felt like he wanted to say something, but no sound came out of his mouth.

Instead, he leaned over and kissed me softly one more time. His Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed hard. "You still haven't told me," he trailed in a low tone, his eyes roaming all over my face.

A small smile played in my lips at the change of subject. "I'm photographing something that reminds me of my favorite stories." He tilted, thinking about what I'd just said. "Like taking a picture of the fish tank, because it reminded me of Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea," I added as further explanation.

He watched me in silence as different feelings flickered through his eyes. My heart skipped a beat when I recognized awe through them. "Why Jules Verne? Why not the Little Mermaid?"

I chuckled at his question. "As much as I love Disney movies, Jules Verne is one of the greatest writers of all times. He created worlds that were beyond impossible at his time," I shrugged. "He was pretty awesome."

His lips twitched for a moment before they curved up on a crooked smile. "Look at you, you are smart."

Glaring at him, I shoved him on the chest. "Hey! I've always been smart!" He cracked up and grabbed my hand before I pulled away. Intertwining our hands, he started walking again, pulling me closer to him with each step. I rolled my eyes. "You're an—"

"I know. You don't have to say it again." Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw him smirk. "I am."

We didn't go far. I had a curfew, so after half an hour more, we made our way back home. We didn't talk much. We were both deep in thought.

It felt as if every time we spend time together, we learned something new from each other. Which was weird. This was Chris, the guy I'd dated for almost a year.

I thought I knew everything about him, but it was pretty evident that I didn't. The guy next to me was quite different than I though.

However, being different also meant better. Or at least I hoped so.

Thank you for reading me!
