It's summer time finally. Just like the wildcats sang in High School Musical 2, it's summer time and it's time for vacation. Ophelia was going to summer camp for the first time ever this summer. She was feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. She had to admit she was upset Ricky wouldn't be going since he was spending time with Lily and her family. Yeah, it turns out they got together and while she said she would try to be happy for them it was very hard for her to do that. 

But she tried to push that thought away and just focused on having fun with her friends at camp. She and her friends took two cars to the camp. Ophelia, Luca, Gina, and Ashlyn in one while EJ, Fallon, Carlos, and Kourtney in the other. Along the journey to camp, they sang a mashup of songs 'What Time is it' from High School Musical and 'Start the Party' from Camp Rock. When they stopped at one point to take a break, they took some selfies and some videos for TikTok and then went back on the road. 

When they got to camp, it was just as Ophelia imagined a camp would be like. There was a welcome center, cabins, a barn, a playground, and even a pool. Ophelia wasn't surprised though when a girl came by the group to put their phones away. She knew that most camps had a no phone policy although it seemed like Kourtney had trouble leaving her precious phone behind, but she knew that Kourtney would be fine...Eventually.

She was now in the Carnation Cabin where she would be staying at for the summer. Ashlyn, Gina, and Kourtney were staying in the Honeycomb Cabin while she and Fallon would be staying in the Carnation Cabin. Thankfully Fallon was with her too, otherwise she wouldn't know what she would do if all her friends were together and she was alone with new people. Ophelia had to admit the cabin was cute. It had teal blue walls and a rustic-vintage look to it. There was a seating area in the center of the room, a bathroom off to the right, and it had cute little decorations here and there to brighten up the place. 

"Hey, guys." A girl with purple hair walks into the cabin with a smile. "I see you two are staying here as well." 

The two girls nod and smile friendly at her. "Yeah, I'm Ophelia and this is my best friend Fallon." Ophelia introduced themselves. 

"Nice to meet you guys, the names Lilac." The girl introduces herself. "Not really my name though, it's my camp name. My real name is Anaya." 

"Nice to meet you." Fallon smiles. She tilts her head to the side, looking confused. "So what are camp names?"

"Oh they're nicknames we all get." Anaya smiles. "It's really cool." She walks over to the bunk on the right side, putting her stuff on the bottom bunk. "Where are you guys from?"

"Utah," Ophelia replies, putting her things on the bottom bunk as Fallon does the same to the top bunk of the same bunk. "What about you?"

"New York." Anaya replies. "I always come here for summer. I like getting away from the city." 

"Nice." Fallon comments. "Yeah, this is definitely different from the city." She chuckled.

As the three girls got their things unpacked, three other girls walked into the cabin. "Hi, guys." The brunette-haired curly girl greets with a friendly smile. "I'm Taliyah." She introduced herself, walking over to the bunk at the left of the room and putting her things on the top bunk.

"I'm Eliana." The dark-skinned girl who entered the cabin introduces herself with a smile. "I gotta admit, this cabin is cuter than I thought it'd be." She commented, putting her things on the top bunk of the bunk Anaya was at.

"That's what I was thinking." The light brunette haired girl grins. "I'm Kadence." She closed the door behind her and walks over to the bunk Taliyah's at, putting her things on the bottom.

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Ophelia and this is Fallon." Ophelia introduced her and Fallon with a smile.

"And I'm Anaya." Anaya smiles from where she sat on her bed.

"Hey, question." Taliyah chimes in, glancing at Anaya. "Since you're the only one out of us who had been here before, can you tell us why this cabin is named Carnation Cabin?" She shrugs. "Not that I mind I'm just curious."

"Honestly, me too." Ophelia admits sheepishly. "I was just too nervous to ask so thank you for asking." 

Taliyah chuckles a bit and smiles. "No problem."

"This cabin is named Carnation Cabin because there's carnation flowers that grow in front of it." Anaya explains. She shrugs. "It's honestly just that simple. Not really much else put to it."

"Oh, cool." Fallon smiled.

Anaya gestures to the other girls. "Are you guys first timers here?" She smiles when she got a chorus of yeahs. "You guys are gonna love it here! I can show you around if you want." She offered.

"Actually, my boyfriend, EJ, already showed me and Ophelia around with our friends so we're good, but thanks." Fallon chimed in with a smile. 

"The Rocket Man himself?" Anaya smiles. "That's great! I'm happy for you guys."

Fallon chuckles and smiles. "Thanks."

Anaya glances at the other girls with a friendly smile. "Since you guys haven't got a tour yet, want me to show you around?" She chuckles when they all nod and look excited. "Alright, get going." She grinned, getting off her bed and leading the group out as Ophelia and Fallon stayed in the cabin.

"So...What do you think about our cabin mates?" Ophelia asked curiously.

"You know when you put it like that it sounds like we're in prison." Fallon laughs a bit and Ophelia joins her on the laughing. "But yeah, I like them. They're all really nice."

"Yeah, I agree." Ophelia smiles. "Wanna go check on the girls?" She wanted to check up on their friends and see how they were dong. 

"Yeah." Fallon grinned.

The two of them went to find the Honeycomb Cabin. "Knock knock." Ophelia said as she and Fallon walked in. They got in the cabin when it happened to be just Ashlyn, Gina, and Kourtney. She noticed this cabin didn't look much different than the other one. Just a few things were different. "Hey guys." She smiles at Ashlyn, Gina, and Kourtney. "How's it going over here?"

"Good." Gina smiles. "You guys liking it at your cabin?"

"Yeah, our cabin mates are all nice." Fallon replies. "What about you guys?"

"Yeah, our cabin mates are nice too." Ashlyn replies. "And apparently Gadget's name isn't really Gadget. It's Maddox."

Ophelia and Fallon nod in realization. "So Gadget is her camp name?" Ophelia raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" Kourtney curiously asked.

"A girl at our cabin who's been here before explained how we all got camp names." Fallon responded with a shrug and her and Ophelia's friends nodded in realization.

"Are oyu guys excited for tonight?" Ophelia grinned, sitting down on one of the chairs in the cabin as Fallon sat on the other one. 

"Obviously." Kourtney replies in a duh tone with a wide smile. "We're gonna see a celebrity so why wouldn't we be excited?"

"I hate it that EJ won't tell us who it is." Fallon pouted.

"Maybe he doesn't even know who it is." Ashlyn shrugged.

"Well, I'm sure tonight will be fun no matter what." Gina smiles. "So do you guys wanna go explore the camp?"

After the group explored the camp and hang out with each other more they went back to their cabins. Soon it was the evening when everyone would meet up at the stage the camp had. Ophelia and Fallon were walking down the trail when EJ jogged over to them. He walked by Fallon's side, intertwining his hand with hers and kissing her cheek which made her smile more. 

"Hey, babe." He greets her. He then glances at Ophelia with a smile. "And O. How are you guys liking it here?"

"It's great." Ophelia admits "I didn't think I would like it here, but I do."

"Me too." Fallon agrees. "So far everyone is so nice. We got to meet Anaya, she seemed like she knew you."

"Oh, Lilac?" EJ realizes and smiles. "Yeah, we go way back since the first time we went to camp here."

"Cool." Fallon smiled, ignoring the pang of jealousy she felt. 

"I still can't believe you guys are here." EJ grins. "And it's all about to get just a little bit more exciting."

"Eej, I'm literally dying not knowing who the celerity guest is." Ophelia whines, earning a small laugh from the couple. "Why won't you tell us?"

"It's a secret." EJ replies. He grins. "And it wouldn't really be a surprise if I told you."

Not much later was it when Ashlyn, Carlos, Kourtney, Gina, and Luca joined them. Ophelia noticed Kourtney held a lantern, she wasn't sure where she got that but she didn't bother asking. Ophelia smiled at seeing Luca's and Gina's arms around each other as they walked.

"Okay, who is this famous person and why isn't it one of the Real Housewives?" Carlos inquired, linking his arm with EJ's free one.

"Carlos, be real." Fallon chuckles. "Why would someone from the Real Housewives ever come here?"

"She has a good point." Ophelia agreed.

"You guys, I don't wanna oversell it." EJ confesses. "To me, a celebrity is someone who gets a bunch of questions about their skincare regimen."

Carlos lets go of his arm, stepping back to line up with Kourtney to walk with her. He laughs. "And I just learned that I am a celebrity."

The whole camp was now sitting on logs in front of the stage. Most teens had blankets with them either sitting on it or covering their lap or even both as they chat with each other. The two couples sat by each other in front of Ophelia, Ashlyn, Carlos, and Kourtney  Ophelia noticed that the girls who were in hers and Fallon's cabin sat in the row across from her and her friends. She locked eyes with them and they waved and smiled at her. She smiled and waved back at them before glancing in front of her at the stage. Ophelia noticed Maddox was on stage, picking up her guitar from her case. 

Maddox stands in front of the mic with her guitar, smiling wide. "What's up, new campers?" Everyone cheers in response. "I thought I'd sing a little song. Maybe one or two of you wanna sing along." She plays her guitar before she starts singing. "Welcome to the Shallow Lake of your dreams where the days are full and nights are serene. On the way back to your yurts, don't forget the lake is dirt. If you fall in no one will hear you scream."

EJ then pretends to scream, falling over on Fallon's lap. She laughs along with her friends at his antics, pushing him to sit up as she shared a smile with him. "At Shallow Lake, at Shallow Lake, we dive right into every friendship that we make." Maddox continues to sing." At Shallow Lake, at Shallow Lake each year we come from near and far to sing our hearts out in a barn. The stars of Shallow Lake."

Since Ashlyn thought the song was done she started clapping, but she stopped when the song continued. "One, two, three." Maddox counted down and then everyone who knew the song joined her on singing and at the end they all raised their hands in the air at the same time. Everyone cheered and applauded when the song was over.

Ashlyn leans forward to speak to her cousin, smiling widely. "EJ, that was really cute."

"Yeah, we sing it every night." EJ grinned.

"You're kidding." Fallon said in surprise, her eyes widening. "I mean, I like that song but not that much."

EJ laughs. "I'm just kidding. We don't."

"What's next, the blood sacrifice?" Carlos asked.

"Now, give it up for the Wood!" Maddox announces, pointing to the side of the stage where the camp director was walking onto the stage. "He loves some noise! Yeah!" The crowd cheered and applauded for the camp director. 

"Alright, alright, settle down." He said and when no one listened to him he speaks in a firmer tone. "Settle down!" This time everyone was quiet. "For those of you who don't know, I'm your camp director, Dewey Wood."

"Dewey Wood?" EJ inquired.

"Yes, he would!" The crowd chorused.

"Dewey Wood?" EJ repeated.

"Yes, he would!" The crowd shouted.

Ophelia figured this was some kind of inside joke the camp had and by the looks of Dewey's face he didn't seem to like it at all but she couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm gonna keep this short and sweet." Dewey rolls his eyes. "It's another summer. Let's have fun. Friendship is magic. Be careful what you flush. Okay? Now, I know the reason we have many new faces here is because of the exciting news. This summer, Camp Shallow Lake has been selected for a very special opportunity, and to tell you all about it, here comes a very familiar face."

EJ nudges Fallon playfully, grinning at her. "Are you ready?"

"For what?" Fallon couldn't help but grin as well, his grin was contagious. 

"Mr. Corbin Bleu." Dewey called out, gesturing to the man that walked on stage with a camera man following him.

Ophelia couldn't believe her eyes. The actor who played Chad Danforth in the High School Musial series was standing on stage. She felt like she was dreaming. She pinched herself just to make sure she wasn't dreaming and when she realized this was real she still couldn't believe it. She stood with everyone else, cheering loudly for Corbin. 

Corbin picks up the mic with a bright smile. "Light 'em up."

Maddox pulls a lever and confetti shoots out of confetti cannons on stage as bright lights flash on. Corbin laughs and smiles. "Yes. What, what? What, what? Oh, I am so excited to be here at Camp Shallow Lake. You guys, I can't wait to tell you about what we've got planned this summer." Everyone sits back down while he continues. "My pals at the House of Mouse have given us the keys to the Magic Kingdom. And that means you guys are gonna be the first camp on the planet to premiere a global blockbuster which became a Broadway sensation." He pretends to act cold. "Does anyone have a jacket? It suddenly got cold n here."

Thinking he meant it literally, Dewey steps forward and starts to take his jacket off. "I suppose."

"We're gonna put on Frozen!" Corbin announced and Dewey stepped back putting his jacket back on. The crowd cheered again, maybe even louder this time. 

"Oh, it's a bit." Dewey muttered.

"This is unbelievable." Fallon smiled widely. Her face hurt from smiling so much but she didn't care.

"Best summer ever." EJ commented.

"Very excited." Corbin smiled.

"Are you telling me that I get to meet Corbin Bleu?" Carlos excitedly laughed. Ophelia was going to correct he said the last name wrong, but she didn't say anything and just smiled at him in amusement.

"And there's more." Corbin adds. He reads off an envelope he held. "So, this camp was chosen by Diseny Theatrical's licensing agent, MTI, to do the first ever production of this Frozen script in advance of the release of licensing rights to high schools everywhere."

"Well, that rolled right off the tongue." Ashlyn remarked.

"And tis camera," Corbin points at his camera man, who turns his camera to face the crowd of students. "Is gonna be following us all around because we're also making a documentary about the show and it's gonna premiere on Disney+." Some people in the crowd gasp at that. "And it's gonna break the internet." Everyone then cheers and applaudes loudly and excitedly. "It's all very meta, you guys."

"Hang on," Ashlyn said. "Is that camera gonna be here all summer?"

"Following us around 24/7?" Ophelia nervously asked. This wasn't what she signed up for. 

"Well," EJ replies with a shrug. "Not in the yurts."

"Wow, I just realized why that health form we filled out was, like, twenty pages long." Carlos said in realization. "I think I signed a release."

Kourtney's eyes widen and fixes her hair. "I knew I should've read that thing." 

"And hey, I know there are some real live Wildcats out there." Corbin speaks. The group goes to stand, thinking he meant for them to stand, but they sit back down quickly looking embarrassed when they realized that's not what he meant. "And I look forward to singing headshots for you all later this summer. 'Cause it's all going down at Shallow Lake. So watch this space." Everyone cheered and applauded again, this time they all gave him a standing ovation.

While smiling, Corbin waves at everyone. "Thank you so much. Thank you."

"I don't remember how to breathe." Ashlyn said, her hands over her fast beating heat.

"I don't remember how to worry." Kourtney chuckled.

"I'll see all your beautiful faces later." Corbin said. "Thank you." The campers then chanted his name as he and his camera man left the stage.

The two couples turn to face their friends with wide smiles. Then the friend group glances at Carlos with concern when they saw he was crying. "Oh my gosh. Carlos, are yo okay?" Gina asked worriedly.

"It's better than Greta Gerwig." Carlos admitted and his friends chuckled.

Ophelia was confused when she noticed Corbin and his camera man leaving. Gina seemed to notice this as well since she asked, "Where did he go?" Ophelia had no idea why Corbin was leaving. She assumed he was directing the show. She didn't even realize EJ had left until Fallon spoke up.

"I'm gonna go find EJ." Fallon announced as she left the group to find her boyfriend.

Soon it was time for the campers to go back to their cabins for the night, but on Ophelia's way back to the Carnation Cabin she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turns around, gasping at seeing the familiar curly-headed boy she called her best friend. "Ricky!" She said excitedly.

Ricky was standing there with his bags and guitar in hand. He smiles brightly at her. "Hey, Lia. Hope it's okay I showed up late." He said, pulling her into a hug.

"Of course it is." Ophelia smiles widely, not hesitating to hug him back. "I'm so glad you're here."

"Me too." Ricky admits, resting his chin on top of her head with a soft smile as they hugged.
