CHAPTER SEVEN, love, sex & slander

(just a heads up, the words in italics are in the video they play in class)

"Love. Sex. Slander." Jonathan said, finishing writing the three words on the chalkboard. "Even though 'Much Ado About Nothing' was written four hundred years ago," He faces the class as he speaks. "Shakespear captured raw human emotion in a way that is still riveting today, still has us glued to our seats."

Just when he was done speaking, Shawn fell out of his seat. But he didn't get up, he just shifted around to get comfortable, and went back to sleep. Gwen rolled her eyes and kicked him the same time Cory did which got him to get up.

"You-You know, these chairs really aren't the best for sleeping." Shawn sheepishly smiled and sat back down.

"Aw, come on." Jonathan sighs. "You got this innocent young girl. And somebody says she slept with this other guy, right?" He moves so he's now leaning against the front of his desk, still facing the class. "And her reputation is shot, and we think she's killed herself. Now, where are you going to find this kind of stuff?"

"Melrose Place?" Topanga guessed.

"What about real life?" Kamden questioned.

"NYPD Blue?" Shawn smirked.

"Barney?" Cory asks. When everyone looks at him weirdly, he shrugs. "My sister says he has gotten edgier."

Jonathan narrows his eyes at the blonde-haired boy sitting in front of his niece as if he just then noticed the boy. "You." He points at him. "Who are you? I don't remember you being in my class."

"My name is Kamden Friar. I just moved here recently from Texas, sir." Kamden replies. He smiles. "I was gone a few days after I just moved here, and I was transferred to this school after I would have this class. That's why you haven't met me yet."

"Ah, okay." Jonathan nods and smiles. "Well, I'm Mr. Turner, your English teacher if you haven't figured that out yet already. Nice to meet ya, Kamden."

Kamden chuckles lightly and nods. "Yeah, I assumed you taught English. And it's nice to meet you as well."

"Mr. Turner, we just can't relate to these characters at all." Topanga spoke.

Jonathan shakes his head. "Why not?"

Shawn scoffs and picks up the 'Much Ado About Nothing' book on his desk. "Because nobody acts like this."

"Just because some guy says something about some girl she wants to kill herself over it?" Cory asks. "They say that stuff about Heather Locklear every weekend, and she doesn't want to kill herself. She's on the cover of TV Guide."

"You're right, Matthews." Jonthan nodded.

Cory looks at him with surprise. "I'm right?"

Gwen looks at her uncle with surprise. "Wait, did you really just say he's right?"

Jonathan nods. "Cory is exactly right."

Cory points at the door. "So am I done with my education? Can I go?"

Jonathan ignores his question as he stands up. "In Shakespear's day, the play's the thing. In our day, I guess the thing is TV." He walks down the aisles made by the chairs in the classroom while he speaks. He stops when he's standing between Gwen's desk and Shawn's desk. "So maybe we should put ourselves on TV and ask ourselves what we think about love, sex, and slander."

Cory glances at him with raised eyebrows. "You mean interview each other?"

"Kind of like a documentary?" Shawn asked.

Jonathan nods, pointing at him. "Exactly."

Shawn grins, glancing at Cory. "You know, my Uncle Ralph was in a documentary. They put a big blue dot over his face and changed his voice."

Gwen narrows her eyes at him. She knew that wasn't the same thing and thought about correcting him, but decided not to. "The school's got video equipment. Let's wear it out." Jonathan walks back to the front. "Okay, we'll split into teams of two and I want a video report. Interview your friends, your families, and each other. Let's just see who's got the more mature attitudes-" He sits down on his desk, looking at the class with a smile. "Shakespear or us."

Cory nods. "Us."

"Really?" Jonathan raises his eyebrows at him. He looks at the class. "Okay, my mature young friends, pick partners." Topanga turnes around to look at Gwen and looked at her with a questioning glance as she smiled. Gwen nodded and smiled back at her causing the smile on the blonde's face to widen. Meanwhile, Cory looked back at Shawn, and the two boys shared a smile.

"Uh, boy-girl pairs."

Gwen's eyes widen slightly when her uncle said that. She glances at Shawn to see he had already been smiling at her. She smiled back at him and looked in front of her where Kamden sat. He turned around to look at her and smiled at her. She couldn't help but smile back at him. When he turned back to the front and when she knew Shawn was looking away, she slumped back in her chair, and bit her lower lip nervously. She had to choose between two great guys and she didn't know who to pick.

****

Gwen ended up being partners with Kamden because he was the first one to ask. And she noticed Shawn talking to another girl in their class so she figured it was okay with her being partners with Kamden and she assumed he was going ask the girl he was talking with to be his partner.

What she doesn't know is that Shawn was upset when she picked Kamden over him. He knows it's just a school project and that he was talking with a girl when Kamden asked Gwen, but it still made him upset. Since she picked Kamden over him on a school project, then does that mean she's starting to like him? If she does, then he'll just have to suck it up because if Kamden is what makes her happy then he's happy. Well...He'll work on being happy for her.

"Okay, so Topanga told me she and Cory were going to interview some other students and some of their family." Gwen said to the blonde-haired boy holding the video camera. "I told her that we would interview some of the teachers and even our family."

Kamden nods. "Okay, sounds good. You want me to be in charge of the camera? Or do you want to?"

Gwen shrugs. "Either way is fine with me. You can do it if you want." She gestures to the expensive looking video camera Kamden carefully held. "I don't have any experience with using this type of video camera."

"I have some experience." Kamden admits. He smiles a bit. "My mom had one and she taught me how to use it when I thought I wanted to work in the film business as the camera guy."

Gwen looks at him with a bit of surprise and chuckles. "You seriously wanted to be one of the camera guys filming movies and shows?"

Kamden nods and smiles shyly. "I mean, yeah. It seemed like a cool idea! But I was, like, eight when I wanted to do that, and I changed my mind from what career I want to do when I grow up too many times to count."

Gwen chuckles and she tilts her head to the side, sending him a small smile. "Do you still want to be a camera guy when you grow up?"

"Nope." Kamden shakes his head. "Now I don't really know what I want to be. But I know I'll have enough time to figure it out."

Gwen smiles. "Well, whatever you decide on doing I'm sure you'll be great at it."

Kamden smiles back at her. "The same goes to you."

The two young teens stared at each longer longer than they probably should. Gwen is the one to break the silence by clearing her throat and she turned her gaze to the floor, feeling her face heat up. "Um, let's start interviewing some teachers."

Kamden nods, looking at the video camera he held in hopes he could hide the blush that appeared on his face. "Yep-Yeah." He awkwardly smiles. "Great idea." He aims the video camera at her. "We should probably do the introduction first."

Gwen mentally scolded herself for forgetting about them having to do the introduction of the video. "Yeah, you're right." After Kamden turned on the video camera, he pointed at her, signaling for her to start.

Gwen brings up her arm that held the microphone to speak into the microphone and smiles at the video camera. "Hi, my name is Gwen Calloway. We're going to be asking friends and family and even teachers of their opinion about love and sex today."

"Oh, and the wonderful camera guy is the one and only Kamden Friar." Gwen adds. She points at the blonde-haired boy. "Kamden, say hi to the people."

Kamden turns the video camera around to face him. He smiles and waves. "Hi to the people." He turned the video camera so it's facing Gwen, his smile widening upon hearing her giggle.

"Okay," Gwen said. "First we are going to interview some teachers. Our first interviewee will be..." She drags out the word as she looks around the hallway. They were in a different part of the hallway whereas Cory and Topanga were filming their report on the other side of the school near the front doors. Gwen smiles when she spots Mr. Feeny. "Mr. Feeny!"

"No." Mr. Feeny responded, continuing to walk down the hallway. Gwen started to follow him quickly along with Kamden. Kamden made sure to keep the video camera aimed at Mr. Feeny while they walked.

"Come on," Gwen sighs heavily. "We're doing a project for my uncle's class." She smiles at Mr. Feeny. "Just tell us your opinion on love and sex, please, and then you can leave."

Mr. Feeny stops walking, looking at her with an annoyed expression. Gwen stands beside Kamden, who still kept the video camera aimed at Mr. Feeny. "Fine." Mr. Feeny sighed and Gwen and Kamden smiled.

Mr. Feeny looks at the video camera. "My opinion is: not on school property." Mr. Feeny said. He points at the video camera Kamden held. "Be careful with that valuable equipment."

The next teacher they decided to interview was Gwen's uncle. "Mr. Turner, what's more important, love or sex?" Kamden asked.

"Love." Jonathan almost immediately replies. "Love is the most important thing in the world, Friar. And love is the only thing that makes sex worth having."

Gwen smiles. "Beautifully said, Turner."

Jonathan sends her a smile. "Thanks."

"So, have you ever been in love?" Gwen questioned.

"Not yet." Jonathan shakes his head, looking back at the camera. "But it's something I'm hoping for and I know it'll happen."

"Well, you love me, don't ya?" Gwen asked, tilting her head to the side.

"Of course I love you, you're my niece." Jonathan replied, glancing at her with a smile.

Gwen smiles back at him. "Awe, love you too, Turner."

"But that's a different kind of love." Jonathan adds, looking back at the camera with a small smile. "It's platonic love whereas love with other people is romantic."

****

Gwen decided on inviting Kamden over after school and was glad her mom wasn't home. She was sure that her mom would scare Kamden away and she wouldn't blame him because her mom can be scary at times. Her dad was home though so they decided on interviewing him.

"Hi, dad." Gwen greets as she and Kamden walked into the apartment. She closes the door and points at the blonde-haired boy, who waved and sent a smile to her dad. "This is Kamden Friar." She sits her backpack on the floor by the door along with Kamden. "We're working on a project for Turner's class."

From his place in the kitchen, Ian nods and smiles at them. "Oh, okay." Kamden follows Gwen over to the kitchen and the blonde-haired boy sets the video camera on the counter. Ian turns to face Kamden with a smile and reaches his hand out to him. "I'm Ian, Gwen's father. It's nice to meet you."

Kamden smiles and shakes his head. "It's nice to meet you too, sir."

Ian raises his eyebrows, looking a bit surprised. He was so used to being around Cory and Shawn who weren't the politest people in the world. "You're polite." Kamden looks nervous as if he was afraid Ian wouldn't like him. Ian smiles. "I like you." Kamden grinned when he said that and glanced at Gwen, who smiled.

"Dad, we have this project for Uncle Turner's class. We're supposed to interview family and friends about their opinions on love and sex." Gwen informed her dad from her place standing beside Kamden.

Ian picks up the coffee mug on the counter and takes a sip of his coffee before he speaks. "Okay, I guess you want my opinion for it?"

"Yep." Gwen nodded, smiling when her dad said he'll do it.

Kamden picks up the video camera, turns it on, and aims the video camera at Gwen's dad. "So, dad, what do you think is more important-love or sex?" Gwen questioned.

"I think love is more important. I believe being in love is also what makes us human. While loving someone can last forever, sex doesn't." Ian replies. "Even though I do think sex is something special and valued, I think it should be with someone you really love and not just some stranger."

Gwen and Kamden smiles. "Great answer, Mr. Calloway." Kamden spoke.

"Yeah, dad." Gwen agrees. "Great job."

Kamden turns off the video camera and glances at Gwen. "Do you want to be interviewed next?"

"Sure." Gwen nods. She walks over to her dad and wraps her arms around his neck, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Thanks for letting us interview you."

Ian smiles and holds onto her hand. "No problem, Gwenny."

Gwen unwraps her arms and stands up straighter. She glances at Kamden with a small smile. "We can interview ourselves in my room. So we can head up there now."

"Yes, ma'am." Kamden saluted to her and Gwen chuckled while she led them up the stairs.

"Leave the door open!" Ian called out to them.

Gwen rolls her eyes, feeling her face heat up. "We will, dad!"

Gwen opens the door to her bedroom and walked in along with Kamden, making sure the door was open. She and Kamden sat on her bed and Kamden turns on the video camera, aiming it on her. "So, Gwen, what do you think is more important, love or sex?"

"Love." Gwen smiles. She shrugs. "I mean, love and sex are both important, but I think love is above sex. Love is what gets us through this thing called life. Without love, life wouldn't be very happy or exciting. Love is very special thing." Gwen answered.

Kamden smiles at her. "Well said, Gwen."

Gwen smiles back at him. "Thanks."

"Have you ever been in love?" Kamden asked her.

"No, I haven't." Gwen replies, her lips forming into a smile. "But maybe one day I will."

She had thought about her feelings for Shawn, but she knows she hasn't fallen in love with him yet. She just is starting to have a crush on him or maybe what she's feeling for Shawn is stronger. She isn't for sure yet. And then there's Kamden. The cute blonde-haired boy from Texas she recently met and instantly got along with. She's starting to realize that she's growing a crush on the sweet boy which kind of scares her because she never had a crush on two guys before.

"Okay," She grins, reaching for the video camera. "You're turn. Let's see if I can live up to your perfect camera skills."

Kamden laughs a bit, running a hand through his blonde hair. Gwen ignores the way her heart flutters at seeing the action, hating that Kamden had this kind of affect with her like how Shawn did when he would run his hand through his hair. Kamden then hands Gwen the video camera, looking at her with a smile. "I wouldn't call my camera skills perfect, but thanks."

When he had laughed Gwen honestly loved the sound. It sounded like music to her ears and the fact that she got him to laugh made her smile. "Okay, Kamden," Gwen aims the video camera at him so he's in the video. "What is your opinion on love and sex?"

"I think love is more important than sex." Kamden replies. "You can keep giving loving and receiving love unconditionally. I don't think it's possible to live without love. Well, it might be, but life would probably be boring and sad without it."

"Great answer, Kamden." Gwen commented.

"Thanks." Kamden grinned.

"So, um, have you ever been in love?" Gwen questioned, wondering why she sounded nervous. If he had been in love it shouldn't matter to her or make her jealous because she only like him as a friend. Or maybe she's starting to realize she might have like him more than a friend which only made her confuse. She already likes Shawn. A lot. She can't like two guys that way...Right?

"No, I haven't been in love before." Kamden shakes his head. He locks eyes with Gwen and smiles. "But I'm hoping I will be in love one day in the future."

Gwen smiles shyly, and glances down, knowing that she was blushing by the way she feels a warm glow rise up to her face. She hoped her brunette hair covered her blush. "Okay, cool."

****

Kamden and Gwen went to his house to record his mom for the video. His mom, Corrine, was very nice and Gwen thought it was sweet that his mom said she was always welcomed there. His older sister, Annabelle, was there when they arrived and she said that they could record her if they wanted to. Gwen thought that Annabelle was very nice just like her and Kamden's mom and she was just how Kamden explained her.

Kamden had informed Gwen about his older sister on the way to his house, explaining that Annabelle can be a bit dramatic and is never one to shy away from getting attention, but she has a kind-heart and cares a lot about her family. Gwen could tell that Annabelle cared about her family by the way she acted with Kamden. Annabelle had asked Kamden how his day was and even reassured him that if he needed help with his homework that he should just let her know and she would be happy to help him. Gwen was honestly surprised that the siblings didn't argue. Maybe they were just being polite with her being there.

They went back to the school so they can edit their video. Cory and Topanga had finished editing their footage just when they arrived, so they left to let Kamden and Gwen edit their footage. As they edited their footage, they joked around with each other and got to know each other more. Kamden was making it real hard for her to not like him and she already liked him a lot.

"Okay," Gwen sighs, stopping the tape they finished editing. "This is going to take all night." She picks up the phone and dials her dad's number. "Hey, dad, Kamden's mom asked me if I could stay for dinner and we're gonna keep working on our school project for awhile, is that alright?" When her dad said it was fine and asks if she needed to be picked up she replies with, "No, that's alright. His mom will take me home. Thanks, dad. Love you."

She hangs up the call and he nods, looking at her with a smile. "Good job."

"Thanks." Gwen smiles. She sits up straighter and claps once. "Okay, how many more tapes do we got?"

Kamden reaches over to his left and turns to face her to show the stack of tapes he held. Gwen's smile fell. "Yeah, that's a lot of tapes."

"We'll get through them all in no time." Kamden assures her, setting the tapes on the table. "Let's go with this one next." He picks up the top one and puts it in. He furrows his eyebrows upon seeing Janitor Bud and pauses the tape, glancing at Gwen with confusion. "I don't remember recording Janitor Bud."

Gwen sheepishly smiles. "Yeah, I recorded him when I went to go check on Cory and Topanga to see how they were doing with interviewing people."

Kamden nods. "Okay, that makes more sense." He and Gwen look back at the tv and he pressed play.

"What do the ladies respond to exactly?" Janitor Bud asks. He smiles. "It's the uniform. A turn on. I can't explain it." Something beeps and he gets out his beeper from his pocket. "V.I.C., uh-oh. That's vomit in the cafeteria." He puts the beeper back in his pocket. "Got to go. Good luck with your show, honey."

"I don't want to sound rude or anything, but do you think we really need this in the video?" Kamden asks. When Gwen only hums in response, he furrows his eyebrows. "Gwen?" He looked to his right to find out that Gwen was resting her head on her crossed arms on the table. He noticed that it looked like she was falling asleep.

Gwen didn't realize how tired she was until a yawn had escaped her lips. Now all she wanted to do was sleep, but she knew she couldn't since they still had tapes to finish. "Gwen," Kamden gently nudges her. "Wake up."

"Five more minutes." Gwen muttered.

Kamden chuckles lightly. "If we get the tapes done faster then you can go home and sleep."

Gwen sighs and sits up. "Yeah, good point." She looks at him with furrowed eyebrows. "So you aren't tired at all?"

Kamden shakes his head. "Nope." Gwen looks at him suspiciously. A few seconds later he yawned. "Okay, maybe I'm a little bit tired." He admitted.

Gwen chuckles and grins. "I knew it." She picks up the next tape after taking the other tape out. "Okay," She puts the tape in and presses play. "On to the next one."

****

Gwen whined quietly when she felt her pillow move. She was sleeping good until bed pillow moved. She furrowed her eyebrows when she realized something. Wait, why did her pillow move? It's not suppose to move on its own. And why did she feel a weight around her waist? She opened her eyes, surprised to see she was lying on someone's chest. She looked at the person's face, her eyes widening and she blushed a bit upon seeing that person is Kamden, and she feels her face heat up. She them realized the weight she felt around her waist is Kamden's arm that's wrapped around her.

A panicked look forms on her face when she heard Mr. Feeny clear his throat. She lifts her head up to look at him, seeing he and Janitor Bud were standing in front of her and Kamden. She nervously smiles. "Hi, Mr. Feeny."

Kamden wakes up quickly after somewhat hearing her say that. He had woken up slightly when she moved, but he didn't want to fully wake up yet. Now he was wide awake. He was quick to pull his arm away from Gwen as he and Gwen sit up. He looks at Mr. Feeny with a sheepish expression. "Good morning, Mr. Feeny."

"Good morning, sunshine." Mr. Feeny responds with an unamused expression on his face. "Breakfast is on the table. Today we're having a big bowl of sugar frosted you've-got-a-lot-of-explaining-to-do." Gwen and Kamden exchanged a nervous expression.

****

Gwen and Kamden now sat in Mr. Feeny's office. Mr. Feeny had called Gwen's dad and her uncle to assure them that Gwen was fine and he then called Kamden's mom to assure them their son was fine.

Mr. Feeny sighs. "The two of you spent the night unsupervised on school property."

"Wait." Kamden looks at him with confusion. "What do you think happened?"

Gwen is quiet as she connects the dots
Her eyes widen in realization. "Oh!"

Kamden glances at her with furrowed eyebrow, still confused. "What?" Upon seeing her shocked expression, he looks at Mr. Feeny and then back at Gwen, his eyes widening as he just then realizes what Mr. Feeny thought what happened. "Oh!"

"Mr. Feeny," Gwen did her best to ignore the way she feels her face heat up. She looks at Mr. Feeny. "I promise you nothing like that happened between us. How could you think that? We're totally innocent." She hits Kamden's arm. "Tell him, Kamden!"

"She's right." Kamden nods in agreement and looks at Mr. Feeny. "Trust me, I would never disrespect her like that." Gwen couldn't help the smile that forms on her lips when he said that.

"Okay, we were working on our documentary last night and we fell asleep." Kamden explains. "That's it."

"Serious violations like this call for swift, decisive action." Mr. Feeny said and he pauses for a moment. He looks down at his desk with furrowed eyebrows. "Uh..." He looks back at Gwen and Kamden. "While I decide what that is, you're both dismissed for the rest of the day."

Gwen and Kamden stand up to leave, but Gwen stops and glances at Mr. Feeny with a pleading expression. "Mr. Feeny, can we just keep this little incident between us?"

Mr. Feeny nods. "Of course, Miss Calloway. Totally hush-hush. No one need know at all."

Gwen smiles with relief and nods. "Thank you, Mr. Feeny."

The two of them grab their backpacks and leave Mr. Feeny's office. When they get to the hallway, they exchange a confused look as everyone clapped for them. Kamden leans over to Gwen with confusion written on his face and whispers, "Why are they clapping?"

Gwen shakes her head, just as confused as he was about this. "No idea."

"What's going on?" Kamden asked Cory and Shawn once he and Gwen walked over to them.

Cory wraps his arm around Kamden's shoulders, looking at him with a grin. Gwen notices that he seems to be more excited about what's going on than Shawn which made her wonder what was happening. "You are a god." Cory told Kamden.

Kamden tilts his head to the side, furrowing his eyebrows. "Why?"

Cory chuckles. "Like you don't know. Like you didn't spend the night with," He gestures to Gwen with a smile. "The lovely Gwen here."

Kamden shakes his head, still confused about what Cory is talking about. "Cory, all we did was work on the project."

"Call it what you want, but you are the man!" Cory proudly said, taking his arm off of Kamden's shoulders.

Gwen moves so she's now standing by the lockers, her shoulders slumping in defeat upon realizing why everyone was clapping for her and Kamden. "What's happening?" Topanga asked as she walked over to Gwen, giving the brunette-haired girl a confused look.

"Nothing good." Gwen sighed sadly.

"Dude, I'm not the man." Kamden protested.

"There's the man!"

Kamden turns around, furrowing his eyebrows with confusion when Harley walks over to him, Cory, and Shawn along with Joey. "There he is." Harley continues. "Barely three feet high, is kind of good looking, and inside," He smiles at Kamden, putting a hand on the blonde-haired boy's shoulder. "There's a little Harley Keiner."

"I hope not." Kamden muttered under his breath. He never wanted to be like Harley, someone who bullied people. He glanced around at everyone and then back at Gwen where she stood with Topanga, his eyes widening in realization when he realized why everyone was acting the way they were acting. If you couldn't tell by now he's a little slow to understanding some things.

"So, uh, so Friar." Joey smirks at Kamden. "Come on. Tell the truth now. Did you sleep with her?"

Kamden nervously rubs the back of his neck, feeling his heartbeat increased. "Uh, well, you see, that's a real private, personal, and intimate quest-"

"Hey," Harley interrupts him harshly and looks at him with an intimidating stare. "Are you the man?" He raises his eyebrows and tilts his head to the side. "Or are you just you?"

Kamden looks around at everyone, seeing that some of the boys formed a small circle around him, all wanting to know what his answer was which only made him more nervous and even anxious. "Um...Well," He looks back at Harley, who kept staring at him intimidatingly. He sighs, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I guess I'm the man."

The group of boys who had surrounded Kamden claps for him, all looking at him with impressed expressions, and Harley grins, wrapping his arm around Kamden's shoulders. "Come, let us commemorate this occasion."

By that point the group of boys had left, leaving just Cory, Kamden, Shawn, Harley, and Joey in the middle of the hall. Joey hands Harley a spray can before they both dragged Kamden away. As they did that he glanced back at Gwen with an apologetic expression. Cory went with them as well with a grin on his face, but Shawn didn't go. He looked back at Gwen with a frown, feeling awful for the bad reputation she now had.

She didn't deserve it. She didn't deserve anything bad. He believed Kamden when the blonde said nothing happened between him and Gwen, and he would've spoke up to confirm they aren't that type of people, but he was just too mad Kamden agreeing with Harley. He figured Kamden only agreed with Harley because maybe the blonde feared of what would happen if he didn't agree, but he thinks the blonde-haired boy still should've not agreed because then he wouldn't have hurt Gwen.

Gwen glances at some of the boys near her and Topanga who were looking at her with smirks and whispering to each other. She rolls her eyes and wraps her arms around herself. "Gwen," Topanga looks at her with concern. "Are you okay?"

Gwen sighs, her shoulders dropping in defeat. "I've been better."

"If it helps, I know you didn't sleep with him." Topanga said to the brunette-haired girl, wrapping her arm around Gwen's shoulders as she looked at the brunette-haired girl with a smile.

Gwen sighs with relief, unwrapping her arms from herself while she smiles at the blonde-haired girl. "Thank you, 'Panga."

Shawn walks over to the two girls, looking at Gwen with concern. "Gwen, are you okay?" He frowns. "I'm so sorry this is happening to you."

Gwen forces a smile while she looks at Shawn. "I've been better, Shawnie. And you don't have to apologize. This isn't your fault."

"I know," Shawn glares at some of the boys staring at Gwen which made them immediately look away and keep walking down the hallway. He looks back at Gwen, his gaze softening as his eyes meet hers. "I just feel bad that all these boys won't leave you alone now."

A small smile made its way to Gwen's lips. "Thank you, but I'll be okay." She wraps an arm around Topanga's waist, smiling at her and Shawn. "I got you and 'Panga to scare off any unwanted attention from the boys."

Shawn nods as he moves to stand beside Gwen's left side since Topanga stood beside her right side. He smiles at her, wrapping his arm around her waist. "You got that right." He leans over to Gwen, whispering. "You sure that you don't want me to punch Kamden?"

Gwen giggles a bit and shakes her head. "No, Shawnie, don't hurt him. Just being with me is enough."

Shawn smiles at her, ignoring the way he felt butterflies in his stomach. Despite the fact how much he wanted to punch Kamden for hurting Gwen, he decided not to since Gwen didn't want him to do that. "Okay."

Gwen smiled back at him, wrapping her other arm around his waist. She looked at Topanga, exchanging a smile with her before the three of them walked down the hallway. She was glad that she at least had friends who knew stayed by her during this tough time for her. She was honestly a bit surprised that Cory went with Kamden and the others and was surprised that Kamden agreed with Harley that he had sex with her even though he knew and she knew that's not true, but she somehow knew that things would end up alright with them all even though it seemed like it wouldn't.

****

Gwen was thankful her mom wasn't home which didn't surprise her, but her dad was home, and he wasn't so happy to hear the news from his brother. Gwen and Ian talked about what happened and Gwen was so happy and relieved that her dad wasn't mad with her. Ian does believe Gwen that she and Kamden didn't have sex at school because he knows his daughter and he trusts her to do the right thing and make good choices. Ian even offered to go find Kamden and beat him up for hurting Gwen. Gwen told him that he didn't have to do that and asked him to just give her a ride to Kamden's house so that they could talk about all of this.

So that's where she is now. She was in her dad's car, hesitating to go inside.

Inside the Friar house, Kamden was having a talk with his mom and older sister who both weren't so happy to hear about the rumor that was started. The family were sitting in the living room and Corrine, Annabelle's and Kamden's mom, crosses her arms and stares at her youngest kid with a stern expression. "Tell us exactly what happened and explain why Mr. Feeny called me from the school saying that you and Gwen were found there this morning."

Kamden sighs. "Okay, so a lot of people at school has this crazy idea that I slept with Gwen."

Annabelle raises her eyebrows. "Did you?"

Kamden tilts his head to the side, narrowing his eyes. "I mean, technically I did."

Corrine slowly nods. "And technically you didn't clear up this misconception?"

Annabelle chuckles and looks at her. "Mom, this is Kamden we're talking about. He's not the sharpest tool in the box." She glances at Kamden with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Kam."

"Nah," Kamden shakes his head, sending her a small smile. "It's alright 'cause it's true."

"I don't even know what misconception means." Kamden adds and Corrine looks at him with a small smile. Kamden sighs and looks at his mom. "Mom, you have to believe me that all we did was sleep." He gestures to her and his older sister. "You guys know that I would never disrespect Gwen like that. We were just working on the project. Then she fell asleep and then I fell asle-"

"Before you begin to rant," Corrine interrupts him and chuckles lightly. She exchanges a look with Annabelle before they both look at Kamden with a smile. "We believe you, honey."

"Yeah," Annabelle smiles. "We know you wouldn't do something like that. You're not that type of person. You just got mixed up with the wrong crowd and peer pressure got the better of you."

Kamden sighs with relief and smiles at his sister and their mom. "Thank you guys for believing me. Now I just wish that I could apologize to Gwen and make this all better." He frowns. "But I can't apologize to Gwen 'cause she ignored me all day."

Just as he said that the doorbell rings. "I'll get it." Annabelle offered. She got up and went to open the door.

"Don't worry, sweetheart, I'm sure that she'll be ready to talk to you tomorrow." Corrine assured her son, looking at him with a smile.

He looks at her with a small smile. "Yeah, I hope so." He really did hope his mom was right because he felt really bad about the reputation Gwen has been getting because of him and plus he missed hanging out with her.

"Hi, Annabelle."

Kamden perks up at hearing Gwen's voice and he looks over at the door, his smile widening when he sees her standing there. Annabelle smiles at Gwen and steps to the side. "Hey, Gwen. Come on in." The blonde-haired girl let Gwen in and closed the door once Gwen was inside.

Corrine stands up from the couch, looking at Gwen with a smile. "It's nice to see you again, Gwen."

Gwen looks at her and smiles a bit. "You too, Mrs. Friar."

"We'll leave you too alone to talk." Corrine told her and Kamden while she and Annabelle walked up the stairs.

Gwen turns to face Kamden, who looks at her with an apologetic expression. "I'm really sorry about what has happened." He blurted out and a soft smile formed on Gwen's lips.

"I know." Gwen nods, walking over to the couch Kamden sat on. "I came over because I figured we should talk about this."

Kamden nods in agreement. "Yes, I agree." He takes a deep breath before he turns to face her, bringing his right leg on the couch. "Listen, I only said 'i'm the man' because I didn't want to get beat up by Harley or be embarrassed in front of the whole school." Gwen smiles a bit at him and nods. She figured that was why he went along with what the others said because she knew otherwise he wouldn't say that. Kamden frowns, his shoulders dropping in defeat. "Now you have a bad reputation at school because of me and I feel awful about it. I'm so sorry. I wish I could go back in time and make sure we don't fall asleep at school."

"Yeah," Gwen agrees. "Me too. But maybe everyone will forget about it by tomorrow and something new will be everyone's main focus."

"So..." Kamden looks at her with a hopeful expression. "Are we cool?"

Gwen bites her lower lip, staring at her lap as she thinks. She knows Kamden didn't mean to do what he did and knows that he would never do it again. Kamden is just a sweetheart and gentleman who might not be the smartest boy in the world, but he does his best.

"Yeah," Gwen nods, looking at him with a smile. Kamden looks at her with a relieved expression and smiles widely at her. "We're cool." Gwen replied.

At school the next day in English it was time to show the tapes everyone made. "Okay, everybody, settle down." Jonathan gets the classes' attention and the ones who weren't in their seat and talking with their friends went to sit down in their seat. "It's showtime. First up, tape up by Gwen and Kamden." Kamden and Gwen both rolled their eyes when some of the class 'oohed'.

Shawn furrows his eyebrows when he notices Harley walking in the classroom. "You're in this class?" He asked Harley.

Harley leans against the wall by the door and crosses his arms. He nods. "I'm in the movie."

"Mr. Turner," Mr. Feeny walks into the classroom seconds later. "A word."

"Mr. Feeny," Jonathan meets Mr. Feeny at the front of the classroom. "You, uh, here to watch the tape?"

"No, actually I'm here to express my surprise that you're going to watch the tape. Any chance that you'll rethink that decision?" Mr. Feeny inquired.

"Alright, class." Jonathan walks over to stand more in front of the class and faces everyone. "Mr. Feeny is of the opinion that our discussion about sex, and love, and gossip, and slander can only lead to more sex, and love, and gossip, and slander. I have to say, so far he's right." He glances at Gwen with an apologetic expression. He kind of felt he was responsible for how she was getting treated now and he felt really bad about it. And hopefully he wasn't wrong to trust a group of kids with the topic of love, sex, and slander. "Now, I haven't seen this tape, but I hope my trust has not been misplaced in you guys, has it?"

Kamden raises his hand and Jonathan points at him, gesturing for him to reply. Kamden lowers his hand and answers with, "Well, I think if we don't watch it we'll never know anything."

Jonathan glances at Mr. Feeny. "My student says we should show it."

Mr. Feeny is quiet as he looks at Kamden. Kamden looks at him with a small smile and Mr. Feeny looks back at Jonathan. "Well, then, perhaps we should." Mr. Feeny walked to the back of the classroom and Jonathan followed him to turn off the lights. He then pressed the button on the remote he had to turn on the TV.

"Mr. Feeny!" Gwen exclaimed.

"No." Mr. Feeny responded, continuing to walk down the hallway. Some of the class chuckled at Mr. Feeny.

Feeny voiced. He points at the video camera Kamden held. "Be careful with that valuable equipment." His response in the video caused the class to laugh.

The video was cut to Gwen talking. "Love is what gets us through this thing called life. Without love, life wouldn't be very happy or exciting. Love is very special thing."

Then it shown Jonathan. "Love is the most important thing in the world. And love is the only thing that makes sex worth having."

Part of what Gwen said is repeated again. "Love is very special thing."

"You can keep giving loving and receiving love unconditionally. I don't think it's possible to live without love." Kamden's answer was played next.

Gwen is shown in the final scene. "Love is what gets us through this thing called life."

The screen suddenly goes to static and then it shows Kamden and Gwen realizes he's in his living room. "Hi to the people." Kamden greets, waving at the camera. Gwen couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips because that's that he said the first time he was on camera. "Look, I honestly didn't want my part included in this documentary because I didn't have a lot to say about sex."

"Wait," Gwen furrows her eyebrows and she reaches forward, tapping Kamden on the shoulder since the boy sat in front of her. He turns around to face her with a smile. She looks at him with confusion, shaking her head. "What is this?"

Kamden grins at her. "The special directors cut." Gwen couldn't help the smile tugging on her lips as she turned to face the tv.

"The reason I didn't have much to say about sex is because I don't have a lot of experience in that area." Kamden confesses. "The people who think I do? They're wrong because I don't. And if I let people think if I had some experience with someone when I actually didn't," He shakes his head. "It's not fair to that person and to that person, I'm sorry that this stupid rumor happened. And I should have acted more mature. You know, maybe we haven't come as far as we'd think in the last four hundred years."

Gwen looks at Kamden with surprise, not expecting him to do something like this. When she had looked at him she found out that he was already looking at her and he apologetically smiled at her once they locked eyes. Gwen smiled brightly at him, the fact that Kamden did this for her warmed her heart. Kamden smiled back at her, happy that it seemed like she was still not mad at him.

"Okay, stop it, Annabelle." Kamden spoke in a more demanding voice this time, reaching forward to grab the video camera, but the video camera was moved away from his grasp.

"No." Annabelle argued.

"Anna, come on." Kamden sighs and steps forward, trying to reach for the video camera again. "Just turn it off!"

"Ooh, too slow!" Annabelle spoke in a teasing voice as she moved away from him again. Some of the class laughed at the siblings, Gwen being included. Kamden glanced back at her with a shy smile, ignoring the way his face turned pink out of embarrassment. If Gwen noticed he's blushing she didn't say anything about it as she locks eyes with him which he appreciates because he knew if Gwen teased him about blushing now, he would only blush more. When she smiled back at him, he smiled back at her, feeling butterflies swarm in his stomach.

Kamden groans and sits down on the couch, crossing his arms in frustration. The video camera zooms in on Kamden. "Now you gotta tell her you love her." Annabelle dragged out the word 'love' when she said it.

"Shut up." Kamden shakes his head, and it was clear to see a light shade of blush formed on his face. "I do not."

"Bro, if you don't love her then why would you do something like this for her? Huh?" Annabelle asked him.

Kamden is hesitant to reply to that before he replies with. "Because she's my friend." Kissing sounds can be heard from Annabelle and Kamden rolls his eyes and that light shade of blush on his face grew darker. "Alright, stop that," He points at Annabelle. "And just stop the camera." He stood up and reached forward to grab the video camera again. He covered his hand over the screen, fighting with his sister to try and get the video camera from her.

Kamden turns to face Gwen again with a hopeful glint in his eyes. "I'm guessing we're still friends, but I wanna make sure." He smiles nervously, reaching a hand to her for her to shake. "Friend?"

Gwen chuckles lightly and nods, shaking his hand. "Friend."
