I WOKE UP A LITTLE TOO early the next day in order to avoid the two of them and called Jaehyun to pick me up instead.
Thankfully Jaehyun was kind enough for the ride to the cafe in the morning for a quick breakfast before going for work.
He didn't asked or said anything about it until we arrived at the highest level of the Kim's Holding.
"I know this is stupid of me for asking but are you guys fighting?" Jaehyun asks after we settle in our opposite seats.
I sigh heavily. "Yeah, kind of,"
In a second, my eyes instantly land to the elevator as it dings, revealing the two person that I wanted to avoid the most. I dart my eyes away and pretend to talk to Jaehyun.
"Jaehyun, say something funny," I quickly mutter.
He raises an eyebrow. "Uh.. like what?"
"HAHAHA!" My high pitched voice blares across the room, earning everyone's attention.
I take a glimpse of the tall figure walking towards his office and the expression on his face is unreadable but I could tell he doesn't enjoy the sight.
Although I'm mad at him, he has no right to be so stunning. He is wearing a necktie today, and it looks so devastatingly good on him.
"God, you're so funny. You should be a comedian," I giggle in a way that sounds so fake. Jaehyun stares at me as if I have grown two heads.
When he finally slides in his office with his secretary, my grinning face gone in a second.
"You're scaring me, Mia. Are you okay?" Jaehyun looks at me, terrified.
"I prefer not talking about it. By the way, why are you so dull today? You were supposed to be funny,"
"That's offensive," he gasps shockingly.
I scoff, shaking my head and briskly go back to work. Somehow, I could focus and distract myself with the loads of paper on my table without thinking about him.

"Hey, all the best! You might need it," Jaehyun kindly reminds, folding his hands into a fist as a sign for good luck.
My solo presentation is up next for the latest proposal. It will be just the two of us in the room and it surely makes things awkward.
The heavy tension filled in the air when our eyes lock the moment I walk into the meeting room. For about 10 minutes, I talk fluently about the proposal using the projector. He remains professional to the end as he stops to interjects by asking few questions.
I ran to the door after it ended and twisted it open but it was all useless. His veiny hand shuts the door from behind, preventing me from sprinting away.
I feel a lump in my throat when his hands enclosing around my waist, hugging tightly as if he never wants to let go.
"Forgive me, darling. I can't stand you being mad at me. Tell me what I should do to make me understand you. I will do anything," he lowly whispers as my breath hitches.
"What are you doing? This is still office hours, Mr. Kim," I gently grip his hands to remove it from my waist but he wouldn't even budge.
"No, I won't let go until you forgive me," he threatens, sighing heavily.
"I will scream if you won't let go," I intimidatingly say.
He heaves out a deep sigh, slowly loosening his arms around my waist. "Alright, fine but please don't be mad at me anymore,"
I yank his arms away and run out the door. I will not tolerate with his unprofessional behaviour during work unless it is past work time.

It is already 5 in the evening and finally time to get off work. Before I could ask Jaehyun to send me back, my phone rings, receiving a notification from my husband.
honey bear
don't walk out with him
go home with me
me
that depends
why do you care anyways?
honey bear
because you're my wife
I glare to the glass door of his office and roll my eyes when his eyes are staring straight to my direction.
me
fine, whatever
I wave goodbye to Jaehyun and wait for him around 5 minutes until he walks out of his office.
He has his suit rested on his arm as he jerks his head to the side as a gesture to follow him.
The whole ride to the bungalow is super quiet and awkward. He is the first one to get out and unlock the door and up to our room. I thought he is acting weird because he doesn't even say anything when he is the one who forced me to go home with him.
I stay downstairs in the living room and I hear the door from upstairs creaking. Our shoulders brush against each other as we passed by.
I shower and lay down on the bed, scrolling through my phone to find something interesting. A new headline of the news pinned my interest but my heart eventually breaks when I realised the article is about my husband and his secretary having an affair.
I read through the content and thousands of hate comments Haera is getting are horrendous, almost the same when our marriage goes public two months ago.
The door to the bedroom opens, a head pops in between. He pretends to be unaffected and sulkily walks to the bed, crawling under the duvet, not even glancing once towards me.
I grit my teeth angrily, poking his shoulder that causes him to whip around. His eyes lit up over my light touch and frowns when he noticed my wrath expression.
"Are you aware about this?" I hand him my phone, showing him the article.
He looks shocked as he sits up, eyes widening. "Who released it?" he asks mostly to himself, panicking, his fingers skilfully scroll down the screen until he finds his source. "Darling, I swear I don't know anything about this,"
"Yeah, whatever. Both of you should just get married instead. That will settle it, right?" I snatch the phone out from his hands. "Do you want to know something? To be honest with you, I never regretted marrying you but now, I'm starting to feel like I do,"
"What are you talking about? I'm not gonna marry her," he says, touching my shoulders gently. "I only look at you and no one else,"
All of his sweet words and talks don't seem to work on me anymore. It is like my heart is tired going through the same pain everyday.
"Then why aren't you looking at me? You made me believe by saying those things but you didn't even look at me," I confess, chest heaving up and down.
Guilt writhes upon his face as if he just realised his mistakes. "Is this.. about the baby? Are you saying that I'm not paying attention to you?"
"That's just how I feel,"
"Do you realised what I have been doing this whole time? My affection says a lot about how much you mean to me but I'm sorry if you thought that I'm not paying any attention just because of my baby,"
"Your baby?" I scoff incredulously. "Oh, great! Why don't you just marry her? I'll gladly give you my permission,"
"Why do you keep saying that? Are you trying to make me feel guilty? Do you want me to stop being the father of her baby?" he sadly mutters, eyes glistening with tears. "Because if you say so, I'll do it. I'll stop being the father of the baby,"
Pain strikes up my chest as I watch him. His face shows how much he adores children whenever he looks at them. I really don't want to crush his dream to become a father.
"No, don't do that. It's okay, just keep on being the father of her baby if it makes you happy,"
He clenches his jaw, his eyes cast downwards. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? I could've listen to you,"
"Because I don't want you to be sad,"
"Sad? Why would I? You never make me feel that way. You always make me happy," he sweetly cooes as he reaches for my hand but I pull it away.
"Liar. Do you regret marrying me? Be honest," I ask him desperately.
"You know what, I'm just gonna leave you alone to reflect your own words. I'll sleep on the next room tonight," he says in utter disappointment.
He catches me by surprise when he presses a kiss on my forehead before heading out the door.
