"THE FASTER, THE BETTER, right? Should we speed up the wedding date? How do you say.. March 19th?" Taehyung's mother queers, flipping through the mini book calender.

It is only me, my mom and his mother sitting at the dining table in the Kim's mansion. My parents stay here for a while before they travel back to Busan to check up on my younger siblings.

My mom agrees immediately with the wedding themed book in her hands. "Yes, then we'll get into the flowers and the wedding dress. What about the catering?"

"Eomma, aren't we going to do it in a small group? Only our families are invited, right?" I ask my mom, lifting an eyebrow in confusion.

Taehyung's mother shakes her head, answering on her behalf. "Oh, no dear. This marriage will go public."

This is the second time I'm having a conversation with his mother. She is extremely sweet and has an authentic personality. Now I know where Taehyung gets his traits from.

"Public?!" I gasp, my voice raises slightly. "I thought we only keep this arranged marriage as a secret,"

My mom nudges my arm. "Don't raise your voice, Mia. She's your mother in-law,"

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Kim but why are we making our relationship public?"

"My dear, don't call me Mrs. Kim. Just call me eomma." she sweetly corrects with a twinkling smile. "To answer your question, Taehyung, as a CEO has a reputation to uphold. He becomes more powerful to the public if he is married. This marriage benefit both of our families."

I nod my head in affirmative, knowing the reason Taehyung agrees in the first place. Suddenly, a disappointment sparks inside my chest.

"Right, of course,"

"Don't worry, dear. He's very gentle and has the warmest heart. I could tell both of you could work this out. I'm so happy to have you as my daughter in-law," she says, a huge smile crinkles on her features.

Nodding my head, blush creeping up my cheeks. I don't know how to respond as I only keep quiet as the both of them proceed with the discussion.

Right on time, I received a text from my future husband.

taehyung
hey, are you still at my parent's house?

me
yes. our mothers are talking about the preparation.

taehyung
good! i was wondering if you want ice creams?

me
omggg are you at mcdonald's???

taehyung
no, i'm at baskin robbins. i just came here from work but i want to ask if you want some?

me
absolutely!!!!! i want mint chocolate chip :3

taehyung
okay, how about your mom and dad? what flavour do they want?

me
aw, you want to buy for them too? how sweeet. hmm.. just buy chocolate flavoured for them.

taehyung
okay, see you in 20 <333

I smile at his reply, wondering if this relationship will actually go well between us.

After 20 minutes, the front door unlocks and reveals Taehyung with a plastic bag in his hands.

"Ice cream delivery is here!" he peers, grinning softly. "Oh, where's appa?"

He places the plastic bag on top of the table and takes a seat beside me.

"He's with Mr. Lee in the living room, probably watching television. How was work, honey bear?"

I shot up an eyebrow at the nickname his mother calls him. How adorable.

"It was tiring," he pouts cutely. "But that's okay because I bought us some ice cream! Here you go," he retrieves the ice cream out from the bag and gives it to us kindly.

"Thank you, son. Mia is very lucky to have a husband like you." My mom simply inquires while devouring the ice cream, which causes my cheek to burn.

"Eomma!" I hush bashfully. She ignores it and I hear Taehyung and his mother laugh.

"No problem, eomma. I'm very lucky to have her as my future wife too," Taehyung blurts out, staring at me as my heart palpitates. This man..

"Mia, did you get a text from my secretary?" he asks when both of our mother aren't paying attention.

I shake my head. "No, why? Has the decision been finalised?"

"Yes. Well, since you're here, I'm going to tell you," he mutters. I grow worried and anxious when his expression dissolves into a frown. "You.. didn't get it,"

Oh. My world suddenly crashes apart, as it feels like all my hardwok has gone to waste.

"There you go. Right, okay. It's alright, I can get another job in other places." I assure myself to prevent from crying.

I turn away from Taehyung to avoid him seeing my pathetic face but then he grips my wrist. Tears are pooling but I could see his face softened when he stares into my orbs.

He bites his lip softly, amusement shining in his eyes. "Aw, don't cry. I was just kidding,"

"Huh?"

Grinning, he replies, "You got the job!" he exclaims, clapping his hands together.

My breath hitches as I gasp in shock. "Oh my god, you're not joking, right? I got the job?!"

"Yes, darling." he smiles proudly.

I was too overwhelmed to say anything as I break down into tears. Nothing could express how grateful and happy am I right now. All thanks to Taehyung.

"Congratulations, my daughter!" My mom's voice retorts and embraces my body into her arms.

I sniff a little. "Thank you, eomma."

"I know you can get it, Mia! I'm so proud of you," Taehyung's mother comments. I surprised her by engulfing into a warm hug.

"Thank you.. eomma,"

I pull away from the hug and swivel my head to watch Taehyung spreads his arms widely.

"What about me? Don't you want to give me a hug too?" he innocently protests. I snort at his adorable attempt.

"No, you guys can do anything you want after marriage but now, a simple thank you is fine," My dad forbids, coming out of nowhere. "My daughter! I heard screaming. Did you get the job?"

"Yes!" I haul and hurdle him into a hug. "I'm so so happy!"

"That's great news! Both of you work together in the same office. Also, congratulations, Mia," I hear Taehyung's father counters from behind as I offer him a huge smile.

"Thank you!"

After discussing for another hour, everyone is on board with the wedding date that will be 3 weeks from now. It is almost midnight, which is time for me to return to my home abode. Taehyung, as a gentleman volunteers to give me a ride.

"Take good care of her, Taehyung," My dad reminds sternly before all of us bid goodbyes.

Taehyung swiftly nods. A cold silence shoots through his car once we slide in.

"So.. are we going to do this?" he asks, referring to the wedding. His hands are tight on his steering wheel as his eyes are focusing on the road.

"Yeah, anything for my parents. They just seem so excited. If it makes them happy, then I'm happy,"

"But are you really happy?" I look over his side profile, suddenly thinking hard about my decision.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I mumble quickly. "Of course, I am."

He hums, seemingly convinced. "If you say so but I hope you're not gonna regret marrying me,"

For about 20 more minutes, my campus building comes in sight. Before I could storm out, his veiny hand halts in front of me.

"Wait." he taunts and hovers his body to the backseat to find something. Soon, he motions back and hands me a grey paper bag. "Here, I have a present for you,"

"Present? For what?" I stare at him in shock.

"Your birthday is in three days, right? I figured I should give you a present," he softly murmurs, causing my heart to clench.

"How did you know?"

He grins handsomely. "I looked through your resume and saw your birthdate,"

"Oh, right. You didn't have to, actually but thank you. I appreciate it," I reply shyly. The paper bag exchanges between us as our fingers brush against each other.

"You're most welcome. I gave you an early present because I'm probably a bit busy in the next few days so I'm afraid I'm not able to see you."

"Oh, are you busy with new projects?" I ask him curiously.

He nods. "Yeah, but don't worry. You'll get to admire this adorable face more often after you come to work. Speaking of work, your graduation is next month, right?"

"Yes,"

"Great, so you'll start your work after you graduate. Remember, call me Mr. Kim," he lowly whispers the last part in a playful way.

"Alright, Mr. Kim." I mutter and he grins. "Thank you again for everything,"

"No problem. Besides, you deserve it. Oh, and congratulations, once again!" he beams, displaying his hearty-shaped smile.

"Thank you," I say one last time. Holding the paper bag with my other hand, I wave my hand at him through the window. "Take care. I'll see you when I see you,"

"You too. Don't miss me too much," he chuckles, waving his hand slightly before driving onto the street.

I walk back towards my dorm with my chest swarming with happiness. I guess this arranged marriage wouldn't be so bad after all.
