CHAPTER 11
A/N Just to be clear, this chapter is set on the same night, but different POV
Thomas POV
I just want to say that I love annoying the hell out of Hamilton. He was so short, and when he got mad, he looked like a tiny gremlin with anger issues, and I find that hilarious. Usually he just shoots back insults, but tonight he took it too far.
"THAT'S CHEATING," the angry child shrieked.
"NO IT'S NOT, YOU JUST SUCK," I shot back. I thought the argument was over, but I heard a thump from beside me and a whimper of pain. I turned in alarm, and saw Jemmy clutching the side of his head in pain, Hamilton's controller laying beside him on the floor.
I don't remember what happened next, just that I felt rage like I'd never felt before. It was all just a blur of colours, and my sense of sight only returned when Lafayette and Mulligan grabbed both of my arms and held me back. I wanted to punch the two, but I stopped struggling when I turned and saw Jemmy crying.
Lafayette and Mulligan released their grip on my arms, and I ran towards Jemmy to try and comfort him.
"Let's get back to our dorm, huh?" I asked. Jemmy nodded his head silently, so I scooped him up and started carrying him back towards our dorm.
"What are you doing?" Jemmy asked, a cute pink tinge coming to his cheeks.
"Carrying you back," I said. "And before you protest, no, you aren't heavy and I am perfectly capable of carrying you, so don't ask for me to put you down, because I won't," I warned jokingly.
Jemmy sighed, but nuzzled his head into my chest as I walked, and it was oddly comforting. When we reached our dorm, I lay Jemmy down on his bed, thinking he had fallen asleep. But as soon as he hit the bed, he sat upright.
"Why, Thomas? Why did you attack Alexander?" Jemmy asked.
"He hurt you, and no one gets away with hurting you. Not on my watch." I said.
"Yes, but why do that for me? I was only hit once, and I reckon you threw almost 10 punches at him. I'm just plain old James, I can't be that special," Jemmy sniffed.
"Hey," I said, sitting down beside him on his bed. "You aren't 'plain old James' to me. You are smart, amazing Jemmy. It was my fault you were hit, Hamilton was aiming for me, so I had to do something. Also, Hamilton is really annoying, so it felt good to punch him," I admitted with a chuckle.
"Do I really mean that much to you?" Jemmy whispered shyly as he turned to me. I kissed the top of his head
"Of course you do, my Jem,"
Jemmy wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug. I hummed softly to him until I heard his breathing become even, but instead of going back to my bed, I lay Jemmy down on his bed and snuggled in beside him.
God I was lucky to have him.
Peggy POV
"I thought the night was a complete failure, but look at this!" I said to Maria. She was staying at my dorm tonight because we needed a new plan for our ships and we both couldn't care less about being tired and failing classes.
"Peggy, do you have a camera in Thomas and James' dorm?" Maira asked suspiciously.
"Mayyybeee," I giggled. "But it is turned off most of the time, I only turn it on when I think there could be potential ship moments."
Maria sighed. "How did you even- you know what, I'm not going to ask." She walked over to me, and grabbed the screen out of my hands, turning it off.
"Heyyy, I was watching that," I wined.
"Pegs, it's the middle of the night, you need to stop spying on gay people," she said sternly.
"But it's fun, and I'm not tired," I complained. Maria sighed again.
"How about we sit on your couch and watch a movie?" she suggested.
"YES!" I said excitedly. "CAN WE WATCH MIRANDA??? PLEASE MARS," I begged.
"Haven't you watched it like 10 times though?" she asked.
"12, actually." I corrected her. "And yes, you can never watch it too many times,"
"Ok, fine. But please keep the singing and crying noise level to a minimum, everyone else is asleep,"
"You're the best, Mars!" I said happily, grabbing her arm and dragging her to the couch. I was pretty silent most of the time, until I shouted 'I'm a general, WHEEEEE' accidentally, and Angie came in to tell me to shut up.
"Why is Maria still here?" she asked sleepily.
"Because she's my friend and I want her to watch Miranda with me," I said.
"Sorry that we woke you, we'll be quieter from now on, won't we?" Maria said, glaring at me. I stuck my tongue out at her, and she sighed. "We'll try and be quiet."
Angie nodded and left the room. The only other time we were disturbed was when we accidentally summoned Eliza because we had Burn, her favourite song, on too loud. She came in, performed it to us, then left with no explanation whatsoever.
By 'Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story' I was ugly crying.
"Why is it so sad?" I sobbed.
"I don't know," Maria said, blankly staring at the screen with tears rolling down her face. (tag yourself, are you Peggy or Maria?) "We should probably go to sleep now, it's late,"
"Actually, it's early," I corrected, checking the time. It was almost 3am.
"Same difference," Maria yawned. We got off the couch and walked back to my room, and pulled out a spare mattress for Maria to sleep on.
"G'night Mars," I said sleepily.
"Night, Pegs,"
