Y/n arrived at Varian’s house as her mom drove away. Her parents would be out of town for a couple of days and allowed her to stay with Varian and his dad. She knocked at the door and a tall kind-hearted man opened it.

“Ah, you must be Y/n, come on in, Varian’s in his lab at the end of the hall.” His dad said.

“Okay! Thank you!” She said, taking her stuff and heading towards the door Quirin pointed to. She knocked, only to hear beakers being placed down and some scurrying to the door.

“Hey Y/n!” He said.

“Hello Varian! Nice lab!” She said.

“Want me to show you a tour around my lab and my house?” He asked.

“Sure,” She replied.

{Time Skip}

Y/n was in the guest bedroom finishing putting on her pajamas. A few minutes later she heard a light knock on the door.

“Can I come in?” Varian from the other side of the door asked.

“Yup!” She said, as Varian walked in, wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.

“Is everything okay here? You don’t need anything?” He asked.

“Yes, everything is great.” Y/n replied.

“Great,” He said, fluffing Y/n’s pillows before walking out, “Do you want this open or closed?”

“Open please,” Y/n said. Varian left the door open.

“Okay, goodnight, if you need anything, you know where my room is,” He said, before walking away.

“Okay, goodnight,” She said.

{Time Skip}

Y/n twisted and turned in her sleep, she eventually woke up from the nightmare she was having. When she woke up, it was around midnight and there was a thunderstorm outside that was loud, the rain made tapping noises on the window and the house started to settle, making creaking noises. She got scared and huddled herself in the blanket. Eventually she got brave enough and inched to the nightstand to get a sip of the water that Varian had left by the bed. Thunder boomed outside, she made a squeak and hid back under the covers. Y/n realized she wouldn't be able to fall asleep like this, either the thunderstorm would have to end, or she had one other option, she figured the other option might result in more sleep.

She cautiously stepped out into the hallway and headed towards a certain Alchemist's room. The door was left open so she walked right in, another thunder struck again outside, she quietly dashed over to Varian's bed and lightly shook him.

"Varian..?" She quietly said, trying to get his attention.

"Hmm..?" He sleepily responded.

"I'm scared.." Y/n said.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked.

"Can I sleep with you..?" She asked very quietly. He blushed.

"U-uh yea I told you if you needed anything I would be here," he said, scooting over. Thunder boomed again, Y/n quickly scooted in the bed with Varian, she snuggled up to his chest. Now instead of thunder, house creaks, or rain tapping on the windows, she heard Varian's heart beat and his breathing pattern. They were both blushing madly, but fairly soon they both fell asleep.

{Time Skip}

Quirin passed Varian's room, he noticed something. Varian wasn't alone and it wasn't his fluffy raccoon companion joining him, it was Y/n. Quirin smiled at the two of them and went to the kitchen to get coffee.
