Chapter 33: Hanging Out
*(Y/N) POV*
.•♫•♬•Try~ not to hold me down. Feel alive~ when I'm in this town•♬•♫•.
I groaned as my ringtone woke me up. I rubbed my eyes as I reached out to grab my phone off my nightstand.
.•♫•♬•Look at those beautiful stars, I wanna drive a faster car. Nothing can break me no, no nothing can break me~ •♬•♫•.
I swiped the green circle on my phone screen without looking at the caller ID. I held the phone up to my ear as I yawned.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Cous! Did I wake you?" Aaron's voice chuckled.
"No, I've been up for hours!" I yawned again.
"Uh-huh, we'll then person who's been up for hours. Get your butt outside!"
"Why?"
"Come look."
I threw my blankets off and ran to my window. I opened it and looked outside towards the road. I gasped as my eyes fell on a familiar tall, black-haired boy wearing black ripped up pants, dark navy blue shoes, a low cut white T-shirt, and a short-sleeved burgundy jacket. He was holding his phone up to his ear as he leaned on his dark red sports car. His midnight black eyes twinkled in the sunlight as he gazed at me. He raised his arm and waved at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, finally closing my jaw.
"To take you to hang out, duh. Hurry up and get ready, ya lazy butt." I heard Aaron chuckle.
"I am not THAT lazy! Just give me a few minutes." I pulled my head back in my window and put him on speaker as I set my phone on my desk.
"Alright, but hurry up. I got us a reservation at Phoenix Flame for lunch."
I gasped as I pulled out my drawer and started liking through my shirts, "How?! That place is so expensive! Not to mention its IMPOSSIBLE to get a table!"
Aaron chuckled, "I have my ways."
"Shoot, means I have to be fancy."
"Did you see what I'm wearing? You'll be fine with whatever you wear."
"Or I can be fancy to make you look bad," I smirked.
"You wouldn't!"
"I would." I laughed, "But not today!"
"I swear, how are we related?"
"I know we share one thing!"
"And what would that be?"
"Our good looks!"
Aaron and I laughed together as I pulled out a light blue shirt.
"Good one."
"I know I'm amazing. But I have to change now. Be down soon!"
I hit the red button on my phone as I grabbed my clothes and changed.
(((Look I'm tired, its blue cuz your hair is blue)))
I grabbed my ruby necklace and earrings Aaron had bought for me and put the jewelry on. The red ruby stood out against my blue shirt. I quickly brushed my (H/L) hair and left it down. I grabbed my phone off my desk and shoved it into my pocket. I dashed out of my room, got down to the 4th to last step on the stairs, and jumped to the floor.
"Where are you going?" My dad asked from the couch.
"I'm going out!" I yelled as I ran towards the door.
"With?"
"A friend!" I yelled as I slammed the door behind me.
I looked at Aaron, who smiled at me. I mouthed 'get in the car' three times before he jumped into the driver's seat. The engine roared to life as I ran up to the passenger door and opened it.
"Hey!" My dad yelled from the front door.
I waved at him as Aaron put the peddle to the metal, throwing me back into the seat at the sudden momentum. We zoomed down the street. My hand clutched the safety grip (((I don't remember what its called. Its the handle thingy?)))on the roof as he made a sharp right and sped down the road.
"Don't crash!" I yelped as he made another sharp turn.
"Haha! As is I would crash, I'm too good." Aaron laughed as we came to a stoplight.
He had a really nice car; the seats were black with red strips, it was clean, taken care of, and looked expensive.
"Money can't bring back the dead..." I mumbled.
"I know, don't worry. I'll be careful," Aaron said, resting his elbow on the door rest, leaving his right hand on the wheel, waiting for the light, "Starting now."
I giggled, then I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I gasped as I realized I didn't have my seatbelt on. I quickly got my phone out and buckled up. I looked at my phone screen and saw I had a text from Ein.
What are you doing?
Hey! Aaron just
picked me up from
my house, he's
taking me out rn!
Ttyl!!
I turned off my phone and set it down. The light turned green, Aaron flicked on his blinker and turned left. I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye.
"Soooo, why the special treatment?" I asked, "Phoenix Flame is a super fancy place, only rich people go there."
"I know, but I don't know when I'll be able to visit again, so I thought taking you there would make up for it," Aaron said as he kept his black eyes on the road.
I snickered, "Uh-huh. Sure."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Aaron asked, glamping quickly at me.
"I know what you did, you sneaky jerk! You told Mr. Gavin to make Ein the Alpha."
Aaron almost swerved as he snapped his head towards me with surprised eyes.
"Pay attention!" I yelled as another car honked at him.
"I have no idea what you're talking about! Heh!" Aaron was starting to sweat as he laughed nervously.
"Magic eyes, remember? Ya can't lie to me, bud."
"Right! I forget about that sometimes. Ugh! You caught me..." Aaron sighed.
I giggled and smiled slightly as the event of yesterday played through my head, "I'm not entirely mad at you. I mean, I got a boyfriend out of it."
"You wha?? Boyfriend?" Aaron gave me another glance as he drove, "You know you don't have to date him because he's the Alpha."
"I know I'm dating him because, well, I like him!" I giggled, "Ein is... Different. When I first met him and looked into his eyes... He scared me. There was just all this hatred, and pain, and suffering that he was corrupted."
"Uh, I don't think I like that," Aaron said, giving me a worried look.
I laughed, "Let me finish! Geez. As I was saying! That's what I saw at first, but then I started hanging out with him, and I saw it. Deep within him, there's a scared little pup just wanting somebody to love him... I could see little pieces of that pup show here and there when we were together. I want to help him before its too late. Who knows, maybe I can change his life."
Aaron was silent for a moment, he took a deep breath before he spoke, "(Y/N), I understand you want to try to help him, and I understand you can see things that nobody else can. But, I have a bad feeling about this if he hurts you in any way. Just tell me, I'll make sure he regrets it."
I smiled sweetly at Aaron, "Aw! Being all overprotective of me. But I know Ein could never purposely hurt me. So don't worry! I'll be fine!"
"If you say so... We're almost there." Aaron said as he turned a corner.
"Woohoo!! Yummy food, here I come!"
