Chapter 17: Jealousy
*(Y/N) POV*
'This is GREAT!' I smiled at my phone, well, Blaze's phone number. Blaze is a nice guy, and he's super helpful! And from what I've seen, the other wolves like him! He's definitely on my list for Alpha Male candidates!
I suddenly ran smack face into a wall, "OW!"
I was sitting on my butt on the floor, rubbing my head, that's what I get for getting lost in thought while walking.
"Are you okay?" I heard Ein's voice from behind me.
Instead of getting up like a normal person, I tilted my head back to look at him.
A wide grin spread across my face, "Hey Ein! How's it going?"
"You're oddly happy for someone who just ran into a wall." Ein's eyes filled with concern.
I jumped to my feet, "Maybe! But that doesn't matter right now! I have to start putting my plan into action!"
"What plan?" Ein tilted his head to the left, his ears twitching and tail swaying.
"My plan for the Alpha Male!" I grinned at him, "I'm going to have anyone's who interested compete in an obstacle course! Then the top four I'm going to interview to see which one is fit for Alpha."
"But, that's not how we do it." Ein frowned.
"I know, I know! But change is unavoidable! And it's time somethings change!" I sang merrily and started skipping off to the principal's office.
"Wait!" Ein yelled, running after me, "You can't just change that! It's in our nature to fight!"
I just looked at him, "It's also in our nature to reproduce. Are you saying we should go about that as we do fighting? Huh? Hmmm?!"
His face became beat red, "That's not what I meant! It's just-"
"I understand, Ein. I'm well aware of what is natural for werewolves. But just because something has been one way for a long time doesn't mean it has to stay that way. And werewolves don't have to be known for being violent! I'm trying to change that and show the world that we can be so much more than window breakers." I smiled at him.
"..." Ein fell silent as we walked to the principal office.
I knocked on the door, and the pale principal poked her head out.
"Can I help you?" She asked, her golden eyes scanning me.
"I was hoping I could borrow the field for a werewolf event!" I smiled at her.
"Will it cost money?" Principal Layla's eyes narrowed.
"Uh, I was going to build everything myself... So no?"
"Perfect! Take the entire day if you need to then. Good day!" She slammed the door in my face.
"Oh...okay... That was weird..." I turned to Ein, "Let's go."
--After School and Werewolf Club--
I stretched as the last of the wolves left the classroom. I rubbed my face and pulled out my phone to look at the time—5:02 P.M.
'I got time.'
I started sketching up my plan for the obstacle course on the chalkboard. I drew pictures of hurdles, a rock wall, jump rope, hula hoops, some other physical activities, and some doodles because I got sidetracked.
"Need some help?"
I jumped at the sound of Blaze's voice, "Oh! Blaze! You scared me!" I threw the chalk at him, but he caught it.
"Sorry, Alp-(Y/N)!! Heh," He scratched his red hair nervously, "But I saw you didn't leave right away, so I came to see if I could help you in some way."
I smiled at him, "Sure! That would mean a lot to me!"
--Later at Home--
"Why'd it take you so long to call?" Ein's voice complained on my phone speaker.
"Because I stayed later at school planning for the Werewolf Games! That's what Blaze and I decided to call it!" I set my phone on my nightstand.
"Oh... Blaze." Ein's voice became dark...almost murderess.
"When you say his name like that, you sound scary~." I giggled as I started to change into my PJs.
"What if I'm scary?"
"You're not scary. You're adorable." I finished and crawled into my soft bed and took Ein off speaker.
"I am not adorable!"
"You are when you're jealous."
"Jealous? What do I have to be jealous of? You're the Alpha. You can hang out with whoever you want."
"Boi, don't even try to lie to me! I saw how mad you got when Blaze walked over! I don't know why you would be jealous of him, but you totally are."
"Grrr... So, about these, Werewolf Games. When are they?"
"Two weeks from now!"
"Seems like plenty of time for you to chose."
"Heh, hopefully. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous."
"I'm sure you'll make the right choice (Y/N), don't worry."
"I'll try not too."
"Alright, well. It's late, and it sounds like your busy. So goodnight Alpha."
"Goodnight, Ein!" I yawned as I hung up.
I rolled over and put my phone on the charger before snuggling into my blankets and drifted off to sleep.
--Mean While--
Ein was lying on his bed in his dark bedroom. His phone was still in his hand, and he stared emotionlessly at his ceiling.
"Blaze..." Ein spat, just the name of that red-haired wolf made him want to vomit.
Anger filled his eyes; he clenched his teeth and his breathing because heavy.
"You won't stop me from becoming Alpha, and being the only person in this world (Y/N) will turn too."
His hand came up and started rubbing his face, "she doesn't need anybody else...she only needs me. And once I find a way to make her into what she needs to be... She won't want anyone else but me."
