Chapter 10: The Park
*Ein's POV*
"Alpha!!" I took a step forward.
'No, no, no, NO!! She's just a human! She'll be defeated! She'll get hurt!'
So many things were running through my head, my heart was racing as I panicked. All the other wolves who had gathered around were cheering for (Y/N) and yelling 'fight!'. Maria was about to punch (Y/N) in the face.
"(Y/N)!! Move!!" I yelled at her.
*3rd Person POV*
Suddenly, Maria fell to the floor with a grunt, "what the?! How did you?"
Maria looked back at (Y/N), who was to the side of Maria, still facing the same way. (Y/N) looked over her shoulder, her (E/C) eyes glared at Maria, who jumped up growling.
"Woah! Did you see the Alpha move?" A male werewolf in the crowd asked his friend.
"No! I thought you did!" His friend's tail wagged excitedly.
"The Alpha Female is so fast!" One of the girl wolves squealed.
Ein stood in the crowd, watching with scared eyes.
Maria glared back at (Y/N), growling, "I won't miss this time!"
She jumped to her feet and started throwing punches at (Y/N)'s head.
Ein's eyes widened as (Y/N) dodged them by tilting her head to the opposite side. Maria growled in anger and pulled her fist far back and aimed right for (Y/N)'s nose.
"HGH!!"
Gasps filled the air as Maria coughed and hunched over (Y/N)'s arm that was planted in Maria's diaphragm. (Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes gazed down at Maria as she removed her hand, and the she-wolf fell to the floor, holding her stomach.
"Heh...not bad...Alpha.." Maria coughed out.
The crowd of werewolves cheered for the win of their Alpha Female. Ein sighed in relief, and made his way to the back of the group and leaned against a pillar crossing his arms.
'How did she move that fast?' He asked himself, looking over as the crowd of werewolves swarmed (Y/N).
"We knew you'd win Alpha!"
"How can you move so fast, Alpha?"
"That was the quickest fight ever! You are amazing Alpha!"
"You didn't even transform! You must be super strong, Alpha!"
"No one stands a chance against you, Alpha!"
(Y/N) laughed nervously as she received the praises from the werewolves. She made her way through the crowd in around 15 minutes, finally telling them to carry on with whatever they were doing.
Ein was still watching her from the pillar. (Y/N) walked over to Maria, who was still on the ground, she offered Maria her hand, "Need some help?"
"Ha! First, you beat me, and then you take pity on me?" Maria snapped, "Are you enjoying making a mockery of me, Alpha?!"
(Y/N) shook her head, "No, I had no choice but to fight you. For my sake and yours, if I had just walked away, the wolves would have thought me to be a coward, or that I didn't see you as enough of a threat. Now let me help you."
Maria took (Y/N) hand. (Y/N) smiled and helped her up.
"I'm sorry, but I was in the middle of something when you challenged me, so I had to make it quick."
"I understand Alpha, but... Thank you for helping me." Maria said, then she snapped, "I don't say that often! So you better be grateful!"
(Y/N) giggled, "I am, enjoy the rest of your day Maria."
"Hmph, you too, Alpha." Maria walked away.
(Y/N) looked around and spotted Ein and made her way toward him.
"Hey! Ya ready?" (Y/N) smiled at him.
"Yeah, but. How did you do that?" Ein asked her as he pushed off the pillar
"What do you mean? Do what?" (Y/N) tilted her head in confusion.
Ein's tail flicked to the right in irritation, "You know what I'm talking about..." His voice was hushed, "There's no way a human could beat a werewolf, no matter how weak they are. And Maria wasn't weak."
"Oh, well. It was easy" (Y/N) shrugged and started walking, Ein followed her.
"She was slow; all I had to do was move out of the way." (Y/N) said.
"She wasn't slow," Ein's silver eyes sharpened, "If anything she was faster then a normal werewolf, there's no way a human could dodge."
"Well, I just did. I don't know what you want me to tell you!" (Y/N) snapped at him, "I'm only human!"
Ein looked away from her, his tail flicking. They were both silent to the park.
--At The Park--
*Ein's POV*
(Y/N) and I were sitting under a big tree in silence. She had her arms crossed as she sat criss-cross, her right cheek puffed out. I sat a few feet away from her, leaning against the tree trunk, looking up at the leaves.
'What is she hiding from me? Why is she hiding it from me? Does she not trust me? Why doesn't she trust me...'
"I'm sorry... For snapping at you" (Y/N) looked down, still pouting.
"I accept your apology, Alpha. It's just. No human can beat a werewolf; it doesn't make sense." I sighed.
"Well, I'm sorry, I'm strong. Frankly, I didn't think I could, I just kinda... Went with my instincts." (Y/N) looked at me.
I looked back at her, not making eye contact. We gazed at each other for a while. Her (H/C) hair elegantly flowed in the light breeze, her (E/C) eyes sparkled when the small rays of sunlight found their way through the tree leaves. I glanced at her round, soft lips before I looked back at her face.
"Do you usually follow your instincts?" I asked her.
"No, if anything, I usually go against them" (Y/N) giggled nervously.
"Why?" I turned my body, so I was facing her; I tilted my head slightly.
Her cheeks darkened slightly as she looked at me, "Because! Instincts are so overrated!"
"Then why did you follow them this time?"
"Because I knew I was going to get hurt if I didn't!" She puffed her cheeks out again as she playfully scowled at me.
I snickered, she was cute when she was irritated, "Alright, alright. Don't get too worked up Alpha."
"Hmph!" She turned her head away.
"I could pet you if it makes you feel better," I offered.
(Y/N)'s face flushed and looked at me through the corner of her eye, "Shouldn't I be the one offering that to you, wolf-boy?"
"Are you?" I smirked at her.
She giggled, (Y/N)'s right hand then went up and patted my head. My tail wagged excitedly as she kept rubbing my head, I couldn't help but smile.
'Just wait till I can pet your ears (Y/N),' I felt my body relax as she rubbed my ears.
(Y/N) giggled, "Wow, I had no idea you would enjoy this so much."
I felt my face warm up. I looked away from her, "It's not every day I get pat. And it's not every day I let someone pet me!"
Her hand slid from the top of my head to my left cheek. She gently turned my head to I was looking at her blushing face.
"And it's not every day I do this."
