Danny's Pov

I waved at Arin before sitting in a empty chair next to him. For some reason, whenever I looked at him he would be nervous. I tapped his shoulder and smiled.

"Hey." He faced me and showed a awkward smile.

"H-hey. What's up?"

"Do you want to study together? I mean you're the only person I actually know in this whole class and you seem like a pretty okay guy." His awkwardness disappeared and was replaced with a more relaxed look.

"Sure! We have that text that's coming up, so how about we get together sometime? Like tomorrow and we can study." I nodded before turning back to listen to the lesson about Abraham Lincoln's speech, the Gettysburg Address.

Arins Pov

"Do you want to study together? I mean your the only person I actually know in this while class and you seem like a okay guy." Butterflies danced around in my stomach.

"Sure! We have that test that's coming up, so how about we get together sometime? Like tomorrow and we can study." I said without any hesitation. He turned back to the lesson I stared at him for a while before going paying attention to the teacher.

I walked out of class and sighed as I passed up the usual people who were gossiping and laughing. Most likely how I was carrying pink pencils and pens and other various things. I don't know why people have to make fun of people just because they like a certain color. I opened my locker and placed my textbook out and grabbed my pink notebook and put it into my backpack since I was too lazy to carry it. After I zipped up my backpack, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned to see Suzy who was giving me a goofy grin.

"What?" She swayed back and forth on her heels.

"So, what do you think of Danny?"

"He's...pretty...c-"

"Pretty?!"

"Let me finish! I meant to say that he's pretty cool!"

"Ooooooooh. Okay." She smiled and waved goodbye and went to class. I watched her until she was out of sight and closed my locker before going to class.

I closed my front door and dropped my backpack onto the floor.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I sighed and walked into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and looked around. The only things that were in there were leftover pizza from last night. The thought of eating it made me want to throw up. Just thinking about how gross and soggy it could be from siting in the fridge all night gave me shivers. I closed the fridge and opened the cabinets. I grabbed a bag of chips that were stale by what the expiration date said. I shrugged it off before opening the bag. The smell of artificial cheese escaped the bag. I grabbed a chip and started munching on it before going into the living room. It's weird how quiet it was. I looked out the window to the driveway to see that both cars were gone. I sighed before going upstairs. I locked my bedroom door and laid down on my bed while snacking on my chips. Thoughts of candy and video games started filling up my mind. I smiled in content as I closed my eyes. The dreams started to fade and started to be filled with Danny. As I realized what I was thinking of, my eyes widened and I shot up. Chips went flying everywhere. I rubbed my head and laid back down. This time falling asleep.
