Nico's pov

Percy and I just killed five monsters trying to kill us!

We walked over to the others—who were still sleeping—and sat down next to Lydia.
Percy said, "where did the stuff go? I just handed it to her!"

I shrugged, then Scott woke up and asked me—like I would know—, "if you die before someone else does, does that mean you've beaten them to death?"

Percy looked at me, "does it?" "Well how would I know!"
Lydia woke up and asked, "so, what were you talking about while I was out?" Percy answered, "we are wondering, if you die before someone, dose that mean you've beaten them to death?"

She thought about it, turning her head to the side and bit her lip in thought, then she turned to me and asked, "does it?"

"Why does everyone think I would know!?"
Lydia and Percy looked at each other then at Scott, then all three of them answered, "your the son of Hades."

"Fine! Yes! yes are you happy, it means you have beaten them to death!" I said, Percy said, "no, I don't want to beat people to death, but also don't want them to beat me to death."

"What is this conversation?!" I said rhetorically, and Lydia and Percy looked at each other then Percy said, "well, Scott here," he pointed to Scott and said, "asked the question, "if you die before someone does it mean you have beaten someone to death," and I asked, "does it," and you said you don't know, then..."

He stopped and Lydia continued, "I woke up and I asked what you were talking about, and Stiles told me, and then I asked, "does—"

And I said, "that was a rhetorical question! And you know it!" And Percy said, "but can we really be sure? You said what you meant, and asked, but didn't ask what you meant to ask? Or did you mean to say something, but you said something different and said it in a way which no one understood to know clearly?"

Lydia said, "and can we be sure that if you said what you meant and meant what you said to be unanswerable, are we sure you said it and meant it? And are you sure you know what happened in the question which you asked what happened?"

Then they both looked at Scott and I in the eye and asked together with an eyebrow raised, "can we really be sure?"

I had no clue what nonsensical words just came out of there mouths, Scott and I asked, "what?...?..." And I said to Percy, "you kids these days! Trying to confuse your elders!"

Scott turned to me and said, "what?" He looked at them, then at himself and then at me and said, "aren't you like, a year or two younger then us?" And I said, "no, I am about 87—or is it 97, you lose count—years old."

Scott and Lydia both said, "what!?" Taken aback, then Percy said, "are you sure you're not the age you look to be like you are instead of the age you were born as?"

"What?!" They said, and I said, "I was born 1930's! I am the age I was born as! Stop taking in nonsense! You're making me mess up my own talking."

And Lydia said shaking off my age, "but are you sure you're as old as you think you were born and not as young as looking makes you."

I said, "would you stop that!?" And Scott nodded.

Thaila woke up and walked over, "what did I miss?" I answered, "a stupid conversation that's what!"

She turned to Percy and asked, "do I wanna know?" Percy said, "probably not, but it's interesting."

She said, "what was it—" and I had to shut this down, I jumped up and I said, "stop! Do not even ask! I will kill every you!" I think I looked like a rabid dog, or Rachel from friends.

Thaila said, "okay...never mind."

Percy turned to Lydia and looked her over then asked, "by the way I was going to ask, where did that stuff go? I literally just gave it to you." Lydia looked around her, then under her blankets and said, "it worked!" We looked at each other, and Percy asked, "what? What worked?"

She said, "oh I handed it to Annabeth." We looked at her and Percy said, "you did what?" She said, "oh...well when I woke up, I noticed that I was in an igloo, then I noticed a girl with blonde princess curls, and grey eyes, we talked, had breakfast—by the way she's very happy that you're a straight A student now—and I gave her the second extra bag, that way when we get there she can help us fight."

Percy said, "Nice thinking!" They High-fived and Percy said, "ok let's wake everyone up pack, then, Nico," I said, "yes?" He said, get ready to shadow travel to the North Pole."

We turned to go pack when I heard a snapping sound, Percy, Scott and I turned around in time to see the tree branch Thalia and Lydia were on
Break.

Thalia jammed her spear into the side of the tree and grabbed Lydia, by the hand, they didn't fall completely, but the force of the branch coming out from their feat rammed them into the tree hard.

I heard a cracking noise and Thaila scream, her hand let go of Lydia and Lydia barely had time to rip her necklace of and stab her knife in the tree to show her fall, it only slowed her so much, her leg twisting unnaturally and another cracking sound that I could hear from up here came, and then Lydia's scream that woke everyone up Percy turned to me and said, "shadow travel down and get Lydia, and don't hurt her, I'll get Thals."

I did what he said and shadow traveled down to Lydia, it was obvious that this was not enough use of my powers that I would be tried, I gently picked her up and brought her to the top, where everyone was standing on the Balls of their feet.

We got up there and I started to make a split but I could see what Percy and Thalia where doing.

Percy said to her, "thals, listen, your a bad***, so I know you can do this," he mumbled something, Thaila was looking down fear in her eyes, but I couldn't her what he was saying.

Thaila's pov

I was hanging from a unsteady spear hanging over a huge drop, 'I hate heights!'
Percy said to me, "Thals, listen, your a bad***, so I know you can do this," and then he said in a hushed voice, "heights or no heights you have this, what I need you to do is flip your leg over your spear and grab my hand, and where going to have to do this fast, because I don't know how long that will hold you."

I was starring at the ground, but I had to do it."

Nico's pov

Thaila did a spinning motion and put her leg over he spear and grabbed Percy's hand, in one fluid motions they pulled her up and as her spear was falling she kicked it up in the safe part of the tree as she got on it as well.

After a second of shock she started laughing and she cried laughing, the others looked at her like she was crazy but she said, "h-how c-c-come almost every–ha—time I'm about to die! Hahaha—it involves a pine tree!"

That did it, Percy, Grover, and I just laughed, at all the times we thought about how we were close to dying in an ironic way.

Percy said, "and you always have Grover with you! At least this—ha—time he's not in a wedding dress!"

Thaila said, "and this time I wasn't being chased by monsters with Annabeth—hhhhhaaaa—Grover and..."

She trailed off, but we all—well all of us older demigods—knew what she was about to say. Scott asked, "and who?" Thaila, said, "that doesn't matter!" She was angry.

The others took a step back—except Lydia—we got up and it went quite, Percy checked her hand and put that in a splint and then came and finished with Lydia, he said, "everyone pack your stuff, I'll pack Lydia's, and Thaila's in the morning we'll..."

"No." Lydia said we looked at her and she said, "give me Ambrosia, pack your stuff and we're headed out now." Percy said, "that's not a good idea you should wait till it heals a little before..."

She cut him off again, "it's just a sprain," I looked at her definitely not "just sprained" leg. "Annabeth has waited long enough, I won't just let her wait another day because I cannot walk as great as normal. We are going to day. get us some ambrosia and nectar, and let's go."

She stood up and Percy said, "Lydi-!" And she put out a hand and said, "I'm fine," she looked at us and said, "why are you standing around? Go."

We nodded hesitatingly and packed all our stuff. We put on our arctic clothes, over our real clothing for extra layers, then made sure that every-single thing was packed.

Lydia and Thaila had just had some Ambrosia and they looked much better, though Lydia's leg was definitely broken. And she wouldn't admit it, every time Percy, or Scott, or Grover, or anybody, tried to help she would stick out her hand and say, "I'm fine."

They all held on to me and I shadow traveled us to the North Pole, and I made sure to think of nothing, but the North Pole.

I remember standing on a frozen tundra, and then I fell asleep, knowing it was fringing cold! And when I say cold I mean I literally herd Lydia say, "Cold! Cold! Cold! Cold! Cold! Cold!" Kind of like Anna from frozen.

Lydia's pov

Nico passed out. Οχιά was in my heated bag made by Hephaestus, so she was warm, but she wasn't to hot, I could hear her talking to me, she was say thanks and she was comfortable and she said she could tell I was in painc.

"Why is it so cold!!!!!! cold! cold! cold! cold! cold! cold! cold! cold! cold! Dear gods of coldnesss why you have to be this mean!"

Stiles said, "because they're cold blooded."
I turned to him, "that's not funny! Why has nobody picked up banshee boy yet!"

Derek and Isaac picked him up and put him on Derek's back. Derek looked annoyed and asked, "and why again am I the one who has to hold him?" Malia said, "because you're the oldest werewolf."

Derek said, "then I should have Seniority!" I said, "just do it!" He said sarcastically, "oh, oh I'm convinced!" Kind of like Chandler Bing.

We started walking even more North! I mean what the heck! We are in the North Pole! There shouldn't be anymore North!

It had been probably hours and Malia said, "how long have we been walking!?" Stiles said, "we have only been walking for 14 minuets." I said, "are you sure?" He said, "I'm positive."

I said, "but how can you be sure that time is what you said when you said it, or how can yo know what you do not no you know for sure if surety is not here?"

Everyone—except Scott and Stiles, and Nico who was unconscious—turned and looked at me confused, "what?" Nico mumbled in his sleep, "the nonsense! No not again! And then he let out a loud snore, Derek asked, "are you ok?"

Stiles turned to me, he definitely understood what I had said perfectly and he said, "and how can we be sure that you believe time is what it isn't when it's shorter then time is? When the time is longer in your head how can you be sure?" They all looked at Stiles—expect for Scott—and said, "what?!"

Thaila asked, "what? When did you go to wonderland and start talking crazy?"
I said, "come on let's go and stop whoever's waking up and get Annabeth back."

Stiles, Scott and I kept moving and the other stared at us for a little bit, but then they resumed walking, but they kept their eyes focused on us.

Scott said, "why dear lord are my friends so weird?" He said it to the sky as though he was actually asking the gods.

We had been walking and I was freakin frozen! Everyone else was at least 30 feet ahead of me, Stiles was coming back to help me because in like the others we couldn't magically put fur on our faces, Grover had fur, Thaila, Alison, and Kira, were probably as cold as me, but their legs were not killing them, well...Thals hand was just as bad as my leg.

Nico didn't have to walk and I was the only one behind, my leg was in the worst pain it had ever been in.

The others were looking back at me wondering if i was ok, I could tell Stiles had enough of my lying, he came to me as the others kept walking and tried to pick me up.

I struggled and said, "stop I don't need hel-" he cut me off and said, "oh shut it! you know you're hurting, you can't keep walking this long." I sighed and turned my head to the others, and that's when I saw it, the most adorable little polar bear cub.

I saw it, and for a second wanted to pick it up, but then my brain asked, 'where is it's mum?'
Stiles seemed to have the same thoughts as me because he screamed to everyone ahead to run like Hades.

That's when i saw the biggest bear I had ever seen, in my life! It was right behind us!
I screamed causing an avalanche.

The bear grabbed its cub and ran the other way, Stiles did the same, he picked me up bridal stile and ran.

We were running really fast and the avalanche was on our heals. Stiles—while running—repositioned me so he was holding me with one arm.

He stuck the other out, and the snow kind of to stop, and it started to build up like a wall. As soon as we were out of harms way, Stiles let the wall drop.

It was silent for a minute, so I said to break the tension, "so...I guess a banshee screaming in the arctic isn't the best combination."

We all just started to laugh, hard, and it even made Stiles fall on the ground, he was still holding me so I was sitting on his stomach laughing hard.

I knew we were probably so tired that we were punch drunk! That's probably why we couldn't stop laughing.

After a minute Stiles got up and said, "we have to keep going, that avalanche, was a huge sign to the monsters, signaling our location."

We got up and started walking, I was so tired, even though I had been sleeping two hours before, my adrenaline has worn off so I asked Stiles, "would you mind if I fell asleep?" He looked at me said said, "not at all."

I nodded then not to long after being cradled like a baby, I fell asleep.

When I woke up I was back in the igloo with Annabeth.

She looked at me and said, "oh hey Lydia, not that I mind, but why are you here? I mean, you were here two hours ago, are you guys making progress?"

I nodded and said, "yeah, where walking as I sleep." She tilted her head, confusion seeping in her gaze, her eyes practically asking what I meant.

She said, "why? What happened to you that you need to be carried?"
I sighed and rolled my eyes, "I don't need to be carried, Stiles is over dramatic when it comes to his friends, I mean I just fell out of a tree and broke my leg it's not a big deal."

She looked at me and said, "you broke your leg and he is still letting you come on the quest? How did you manage that?"

I said, "because he knew we would either go, or argue about it, and then, go." She laughed, "and plus, I said it was just a sprain. But after the polar bear incident, he decided to carry me." I said with a shrug.

She nodded and said, "so, how's your day been?" She said, "better, knowing you are coming for me helps a lot."

I nodded and said, "I think I'm being woken up bye Annabeth were coming for you."
I woke up to Stiles saying, "There is a blizzard we have to take cover."
