Chapter 28
(Y/N)'s POV
"What?" I asked them. I couldn't help but blurt out that question all of a sudden.
Zeus cleared his throat, and turned to look at Athena.
"So this is her? She is the one we have been waiting for thousands of years. The one of the Ancient Prophecy?"
'Ok what is this freakin Ancient Prophecy everyone is talking about?'
"I am certain that she is."
"Are you sure?" Dad asked Athena. "Like 110% positive?"
"Hey, timeout. If this has something to do with me, will you please explain what the Ancient Prophecy is about?"
Everyone looked at Zeus for the explanation.
"When the first Titan War was over, the Oracle prophesied that Kronos will rise again. She gave out two prophecies. The Great and Ancient Prophecy. You already know about the Great Prophecy, obviously." Zeus said. "But only few know about the Ancient Prophecy."
'So that's what Nereus and Atlas meant by that prophecy...'
"The Ancient Prophecy is for the Child of Blessings and we think it might be you."
"How?"
"(Y/N) do you remember when you came to see me at Mount Tamalpais." Artemis said.
"Yeah. What about it?"
"When we talked, your emotions changed drastically. Your emotional outbreak caused you to grow stronger."
I remembered that.
"But that still doesn't explain how I could be the one of the prophecy."
Everyone looked at Athena, who unrolled the old papyrus scroll. She cleared her throat and read it out loud.
"The Child of Blessings will come,
as a daughter of the sun.
Cursed from the Time Lord,
from within her, potential is stored."
She finished reading but I knew there was supposed to be more than just that.
"What's the rest of the prophecy?" I asked.
"That we don't know. There are two parts of the Ancient Prophecy. We only have the first part so we could confirm the Child of Blessings' identity. The rest is only for you. When the time is right, you will have the rest of the prophecy and fulfill it." Athena explained.
I didn't know what to say. Part of me wanted to say that I'm not the one of this so called Ancient Prophecy, but the other part of me is saying that I am. I'm a daughter of Apollo, god of the sun. And I've been cursed by Kronos, the lord of time.
"Umm what did it mean by 'potential is stored'?"
I asked.
This time everyone looked at Apollo, who was fiddling with the cord of his headphones. He looked up and saw that all eyes were on him.
"What?" He asked.
The gods rolled their eyes and I could of swore some say "Like father, like daughter."
"Ok ok fine." He looked at me. "Looks like its story time so might as well get comfortable."
With a wave of his hand, chairs appeared out of nowhere from under us making me, Percy, and Grover sit.
"So you see (Y/N), every time a daughter of mine is born-your half sister-we all see if she is the one of the Ancient Prophecy. None of them had the capacity to be the one. It's been like that for years."
"So you all were watching my sisters?"
Dad nodded.
"And then you were born." He said. "We watched you when we could as you grew up. And you had that special something in you. You were different from your half sisters."
"Your...friend, Luke, also noticed this too, ever since the both of you met each other." Athena said. "That's why he couldn't kill you. So now Kronos did his part by cursing you to join his army. He knows about the Ancient Prophecy. And he also knows about your powers."
"My powers aren't that special. Many of my half siblings have my kind of powers."
"But they do not have the powers of every god and goddess." Poseidon said.
"What?!" Percy, Thalia, Grover, and I yelled in unison.
"You, (Y/N), have every power of every god and goddess in this throne room, even Hades's and Hestia's." Zeus explained.
"H-How-"
"You were born with them. Since you're Apollo's daughter, the powers you have now are only a small part of your true powers. Now you must try to unleash your true powers and control it." Athena said.
"And what if I can't? What if I can't unleash my powers?"
"That is not an option (Y/N). You must unleash and control your powers. Not only so you could protect others, but to protect yourself also." Athena said.
"What do you mean?"
"Kronos was able to curse you once and I am certain that he could do it again. With your powers, you won't let that happen ever again." The goddess of wisdom explained.
I swallowed. If I do have this kind of powers in me then maybe I could...
A hand was placed on my arm. I looked and saw that it was Percy. He smiled warmly at me. He supported me. I smiled back before looking back at the gods.
"What do I have to do?"
"You will have to train extensively for the next couple of months in Camp Half-Blood." Athena said. "And once it is time, you will find out the rest of your prophecy."
I thought it over again. If I could unleash and control my new powers, I could help protect Camp Half-Blood. That's good. I could try and help Luke too. That's also good. But then I could possibly die a horrible death....That's bad...
"Fine. I accept I'm the one of the Ancient Prophecy. I'm the Child of Blessings."
This seemed to satisfied most of the gods. Dad had a sad look but tried to cover it up by putting on his shades.
"Very well then," Zeus said, "and since we will not be destroying these heroes...I imagine we should honor them. Let the triumph celebration begin!"
~~~
Never been to an Olympian party before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. The Nine Muses cranked up the music. No one was fighting to change the type of music, only requests to crank it up louder.
Grover, Percy, and I ate from whatever there was on the crowded banquet tables. As we ate our food, gods and goddesses kept coming to our table congratulating Percy and I. We said our thanks to them. Then we talked to each other about regular demigod stuff. That was until my dad came into the conversation.
"You know Percy, as a reward for saving my daughter, you could drive my sun chariot anytime, and if you ever want archery lessons-"
"Uh thanks, but (Y/N) is already giving me some lessons." Percy said. "I still suck at it though."
"Hey, you're getting better. At least you're hitting the target instead of someone's leg." I joked as I remembered the time he actually did that to an Ares kid's leg.
Percy laughed, sort of embarrassed. Dad looked at me.
"(Y/N), I would like to talk to you in private if you don't mind?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure." I said as I got up from my seat.
Dad and I walked out the throne room to a beautiful garden outside. A water fountain was in the center of the garden. We sat down on one of the benches there. Neither of us said anything the only thing that was heard was the music from the party.
"You had one hell of a day, (Y/N)." Dad said as he removed his shades. "How are you holding up?"
"I feel...fine." I said.
Dad nodded as he placed his hand on my shoulder making me lean into him. I hardly knew my Dad as a child, and I barely talk to him now, so him hugging me is kind of weird but I'm getting used to it.
"You know," Dad said, "you don't have to be the one of the Ancient Prophecy. It could be someone-"
"Dad." I said, cutting him off. "It's not someone else. It's me and you know that."
"You don't realize how dangerous this prophecy can be. Who knows what might happen. You could die."
"Aww you do care, Dad" I joked. "But seriously Dad, I accept that I'm the one of the Ancient Prophecy. I won't let one of my sisters to carry out this prophecy. I will train my hardest to protect my family from Kronos." I said with full determination.
Dad just looked straight into my eyes as if he wanted to know what I just said was true. He then sighed.
"You're exactly like your mother." He said.
I inspected his face.
"She's alive, isn't she?" I asked him.
Dad shot me a confused look.
"(Y/N) you know as well as I do that your mother is dead."
"She isn't." I insisted.
I told him everything I told Percy about my mom. Zoe's last words to me. Nereus talking about the 'untrained eye'. When I finish talking, Dad was looking off in the distance.
"Dad, please, if you know Mom is alive then please tell me." I pleaded.
"(Y/N), no matter how much I wish your mother to be alive, I have to face the truth. She's dead."
I frowned. I was hoping that he knew something-anything-about Mom. Dad decided to change the subject.
"You know Will is really worry for you." He said. "He keeps offering his whole dinner to me, praying for you to come back."
I smiled and shook my head.
"He's always been a worried wart. I actually can't wait to see him again....He's going to give me a huge lecture."
"Then after that he will lock you forever in the cabin, making sure that your in his sight at all times." Dad joked.
"Knowing him, he might do that."
"So how did Percy save you from...you know."
"He reminded me about the people that I care about and how they care about me..." I said.
"You took the sky twice, (Y/N)." Dad said. "I'm surprised you survived. But why?"
"Both for the same reason, Dad. They needed help. I wasn't just going to leave them there. It was just my turn to help them."
Dad nodded at my answer.
"Well it's a good thing I let Percy live then." He commented with a chuckle.
"Uhh what?" I said. "Did you actually tried to kill my boyfriend?"
"Hey I thought about it, but I didn't do anything." Dad said, like it wasn't a big deal.
"Dad, he's my boyfriend. You can't just do that."
"Well at least I didn't beat him up like your brother did!" Dad said defending himself.
"Will...did...oh my gods." I said as I ran fingers through my hair.
"Hey what did you expect from us?" Dad said.
"Expect what?" Artemis said from behind us.
"My dad and brother won't give Percy a break that's what." I said while looking at my dad.
Artemis shook her head as she sat on the other side of me.
"Although I agree with you, (Y/N), you must understand that both your father and brother were only worried for you."
"That still doesn't mean they can do that to Percy." I said with a pout. "That's embarrassing."
Both Artemis and Apollo laughed at me. Once the laughter died down, there was a comfortable silence in the atmosphere.
"I should go look for Percy." I said after a couple of minutes of silence.
Dad was about to protest when Artemis glared at him, making him close his mouth.
"Of course, (Y/N). We understand." Artemis said.
I got up from my seat and started walking towards the throne room before I stopped and looked back at the two gods.
"I won't let you down, Dad. I promise."
Percy's POV
I was looking for (Y/N) when I heard a man's voice from behind me.
"You won't let me down, I hope."
I turned around to see Poseidon smiling at me.
"Dad...Hi."
"Hello, Percy. You've done well."
It felt kind of weird when he praised me.
"I won't let you down." I promised him.
He nodded. I had trouble reading gods' emotions, but I wondered if he had some doubts.
"Your friend Luke-"
"He's not my friend," I blurted out. I realized I was being rude for interrupting. "Sorry."
"Your former friend Luke," Poseidon corrected. "He once promised things like that. He was Hermes's pride and joy. Just bear that in mind, Percy. Even the bravest can fall."
"Luke fell pretty hard," I agreed. "He's dead."
"No, Percy. He is not." Poseidon said.
"What?" I said as I stared at him.
"I believe (Y/N) has told you this already, but she speaks the truth. Luke still lives. His boat sails from San Francisco with the remains of Kronos even now, and he will retreat and regroup before assaulting you again. I will do my best to destroy his boat with storms, but he is making deals with my enemies. They will fight to protect him."
"How can he still be alive?" I said. "That fall should've killed him!"
"I don't know, Percy, but beware of him. He is more dangerous than ever. And the golden coffin is still with him, still growing in strength. Placing the curse on (Y/N) was only a taste of his full power."
"And what about Atlas? What's to prevent him from escaping again? Couldn't he just force some giant or something to take the sky for him?"
"If it were so easy, he would have escaped long ago, but that isn't the case. The curse of the sky can only be forced upon a Titan. Anyone else must choose to take the burden on their own free will. Only a hero, someone with strength, a true heart, and great courage, would do such a thing. Therefore no one in Kronos's army wouldn't dare try to bear the sky's weight."
"Luke did it," I said. "He let Atlas go. Then he tricked (Y/N) into saving him and used her to convince Artemis to take the sky."
"Yes," Poseidon said. "Luke is...an interesting case."
I think he wanted to say more but at that moment we heard Bessie's mooing from across the courtyard. Some demigods were playing with his water sphere as if it was some ball.
"I'd better take care of that." Poseidon said. "We can't have the Ophiotaurus tossed around like a beach ball. Be good, my son. We may not speak again for some time."
And with that, he left. I was just about to look for (Y/N) again when...
"Your father takes a great risk, you know." Another voice spoke.
I found myself face-to-face with a gray-eyed woman who looked so much like Annabeth I almost called her that.
"Athena." I said trying to not sound too resentful, after what she said about me in the council.
"Do not judge me too harshly, half-blood. Wise council is not always popular, but I spoke the truth. You are dangerous."
"You never take risks." I said.
She nodded.
"I concede the point. You may perhaps be useful. And yet...Your fatal flaw may destroy us as well as yourself."
Here we go with that topic again. Fatal flaws. I have no idea what my fatal flaw could be. Annabeth said that her fatal flaw is pride while (Y/N)'s is her being unselfish.
"Kronos knows your flaw, even if you do not. He knows how to study his enemies. Think, Percy. How has he manipulated you? First, your mother was taken from you. Then your best friend, Grover. Now Apollo's daughter, (Y/N)." She paused before continuing. "In each case, your loved ones have been used to lure you into Kronos's traps. Your fatal flaw is personal loyalty, Percy. You do not know when it is time to cut your losses. You ignored everyone's protest just to save (Y/N). To save a friend, you would sacrifice the world. In a hero of the prophecy, that is very, very dangerous."
My hands balled into fists.
"That's not a flaw. Just because I want to help my friends-"
"The most dangerous flaws are those which are good in moderation," she said. "Evil is easy to fight. Lack of wisdom...That is very hard indeed. Take (Y/N) for example. Her fatal flaw almost cost her certain death. Not just once but multiple times. And now she's the person to carry out a dangerous prophecy."
I wanted to argue, but I couldn't.
"I hope the Council's decisions prove wise." Athena said. "But I will be watching, Percy Jackson, as well as (Y/N). The both of you together, pose a great threat. I'm surprised how (Y/N) could deal with you."
I glared at her last comment, but it did give me second thoughts.
"Also make sure you return Annabeth's invisible cap back, otherwise, you will face her wrath."
Before I could say anything else, I heard another voice. The voice I wanted to hear.
"Percy!" (Y/N) said as she was running through the crowd but soon stopped once she saw Athena.
"Oh...Hi Lady Athena." (Y/N) said as she bowed.
"No need for bowing (Y/N)." Athena said as she placed her hand on her shoulder. She looked back at me. "I will leave you...For now."
She turned and strode through the crowds that parted before her as if she were carrying Aegis. (Y/N) gave me a look of concern.
"Did she give you a hard time?" She asked.
"No." I said as I shook my head. "It's fine. Don't worry about it."
3rd POV
(Y/N) stared at Percy and Percy stared at (Y/N). Without thinking, (Y/N) touched Percy's streak of gray in his jet black hair as Percy did the same to (Y/N)'s hair. Though they both have streaks of gray-as a painful souvenir from holding Atlas's burden-(Y/N) has two gray streaks while Percy only has one.
"So," (Y/N) said. "What were you trying to tell me earlier?"
Percy now got a bit nervous as he started to scratch the back of his neck.
"I-I thought you were going to join the Hunt." Percy said, not meeting (Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes.
Then Percy felt fingertips under his chin, making him look up. (Y/N) smiled at him.
"Percy, I love you. I wouldn't just join the Hunt all of a sudden after all we've been through."
"I just thought-"
The son of Poseidon eyes widened when he (Y/N)'s lips on his own, but he soon found himself kissing back. He missed this. But the kiss between the couple was interrupted by a high shriek. Both of them pulled back and saw the one and only goddess of love standing there with a massive grin on her face.
"This is so cute!" Aphrodite said as she wrap her arms around (Y/N)'s and Percy's shoulders. "You two are definitely my OTP!"
"Um you're welcome?" (Y/N) said not really knowing how to handle Aphrodite's high level of fangirlingness.
Aphrodite grinned even more if that was possible.
"So mission D.I.D was a success!" She yelled. "The act of love for each other was adorable. The two of you are perfect for each other!" She looked at Percy. "Although Percy that Hoover Dam scene was quite...something."
(Y/N) looked confused at what Aphrodite was talking about.
"Hoover Dam scene?" She asked.
"Oh don't you worry your pretty head, (Y/N). It's in the past now." The love goddess said as she patted (Y/N)'s head and as a result (Y/N)'s hair turned from tangles to silky hair with curls at the end.
Then the love goddess left, leaving the two teenagers a bit confused, (Y/N) especially. The daughter of Apollo looked at the son of Poseidon.
"Mission D.I.D?" She asked him.
Percy laughed a bit.
"You really want to know what D.I.D means?" Percy said while still laughing.
"Yes." (Y/N) said, still confused as why Percy was laughing.
"It means Damsel In Distress."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened. Her jaw dropped. Did she heard right?
"Please don't tell me I'm the damsel in distress?" (Y/N) groaned.
Much to her dismay, Percy nodded.
"Oh come on. How am I a damsel in distress? I can take care of myself. I've been killing monsters since I was 7 years old." (Y/N) huffed.
"Hey, don't listen to her." Percy said as he poke (Y/N)'s cheeks, knowing that it can make a smile appear on her face.
And after a minute of poking, a smile made its way on her face.
"Hey I think I owe you something." Percy said.
"Like what?" (Y/N) asked.
"A dance." Percy said with a hope in his eyes.
(Y/N) smiled at him.
"All right, Seaweed Brain." (Y/N) said.
Percy took her hand and kissed the back of it, making (Y/N) blush a bit. Then Percy placed his hands on (Y/N)'s hips as (Y/N) wrapped her arms around his neck. The song that was playing sounded like a slow song as they danced.
"You already know this song, don't you?" Percy asked.
"Yeah...It's called Perfect by Ed Sheeran." (Y/N) said.
(A/N):I love this song so much❤️)
"You know," Percy said. "To me you're perfect."
(Y/N) was glad that Percy couldn't see her blushing face right now.
"That was cheesy, Jackson and you know it."
Percy stepped back and spun (Y/N) around.
When (Y/N) made a complete spin, Percy brought (Y/N) close to him.
"Just telling the truth (Y/N)." Percy said as he pressed his forehead against hers.
"I love you Percy."
"Love you too (Y/N)."
Meanwhile, while Aphrodite's favorite couple danced, Apollo and Artemis were still in the garden. Artemis noticed her brother's lack of being annoying.
"Something wrong, brother?" She asked.
"It's something what (Y/N) said." Apollo said quietly. "She believes that Naomi is still alive after all these years."
Artemis stayed quiet. She knew the truth and she swore to that person to not tell anyone about her until the time is right. But now, Artemis could tell that (Y/N) is getting suspicious and so is Apollo.
"What do you believe, Apollo?"
"All I know if that Naomi is alive I would search everywhere for her. She deserved the very best."
"Is that why you offered her immortality?" The moon goddess asked her brother.
Though, Artemis swore off against any romance to men she could tell that her sometimes annoying immature brother is still in love with the mother of (Y/N) and Will Solace....if only she could tell him.
"Yes." Apollo answered her question. "I was going to ask her on that night, but she..." Apollo trailed off but Artemis knew exactly what happened.
"It's not your fault, brother. She wouldn't want you to blame yourself for what happened." Artemis said gently.
"...I just miss Naomi so much, Artemis, you wouldn't believe how much I miss her."
Artemis has never seen brother so heartbroken before. The last time he was like this was on...that night.
The moon goddess patted her brother's shoulder before leaving him alone. She could tell when Apollo needed some space.
"She misses you too." Artemis said quietly as she walked away, but Apollo didn't hear her.
