The group walked. "Do we even know where we are supposed to go?" Rosalie asked. "Well.. we've been told to look for 'the camps of Greeks' to receive help apparently. And.. here we are." Albert shrugged.
Arielle sighed in annoyance. "Then you all started walking away for some reason, leaving me to have to guide this one." She said, pointing to Indah. "..I'd say it's best if we continue south." Indah murmured, not paying attention. "Nobody has any better ideas. Lead on." Rosalie told her.
"Oh. Oh uh.. yeah. Okay, onward!" Indah smiled and led the group. They've likely trekked on for a good hour or so when the sky became cloudy. "Hope someone brought an umbrella," Ally said. "Because it'll probably rain."
"Rain? It sounds like it's going to thunder." Arielle muttered. The storm worsened. "We need to find shelt- oh gods..." Rosalie stopped. "A tornado?" Indah asked. "Maybe. Looks sort of like a group of venti." Albert said.
"Like the drink size?" Ally joked. "Like Roman wind spirits..." Albert rolled his eyes. "So.. Anemoi, but Roman..?" Indah asked. The winds picked up at a rapid pace. "Whatever it is, it's coming this way." Arielle warned. 70 feet away. 60. 45.
"Well.. let's leave already!" Nikolai said. "We could always fight it, y'know." Kai suggested. "Where, genius?! And I'm not fighting that thing!" Rosalie shouted. It was hard to tell if she was shouting to be heard over the storm or if she was that angry at the two. "Shelter's done." Ally walked back over to the group. Behind her was a decently sized base. "Oh crap." She murmured as she looked up at the spiral that was the Anemoi. Or Venti. Take your pick. Indah really didn't have a preference.
The wild wind picked up. It felt like a hurricane. All anyone could hear was the wrapping of the wind. A split second of realization that it would feel like a hurricane but act as a tornado. Indah could barely see with all the debris around. She caught glimpses of bodies flailing. Her limbs felt tired.
Indah fell unconscious. Suddenly, the winds died down. She opened her eyes, still dreary. Indah knew all too well that this was not her reality. Instead, a dream. The beloved strawberry fields that ran along the borders of camp. She liked to run out here whenever she felt stressed, bored, or lonely.
It was a happy place for her. When she first discovered it. When she was claimed by Demeter. When Indah pelted the other cabins with strawberries in a game of capture the flag as a minor distraction while the other players snuck over. When she had her first kiss. When she mourned the loss of two cabin mates she held dear. It provided a sense of safety that no other place could.
She saw a figure standing parallel to her. She glanced over. Golden hair and wheat in hand to match it. Brown eyes like the soil the two stood upon. Adorned by robes of green. Her mother. "Hello Indah." She spoke. "..oh my gods.. uh. Hi.. Mom.. er, why am I in the strawberry fields, exactly?" Indah stammered. Though not many people considered her a threat, Demeter, if crossed, could likely turn you into a patch of wheat in the flick of a wrist. Indah hoped she wouldn't say anything to frustrate the goddess.
Then again, nothing else will make her truly more angry than bringing up Persephone and Hades's marriage. That's besides the point. Indah looked her mother in the eyes. "To try and guide you." Demeter said. "You and your friends seem lost. The Anemoi caused you all to be lost in..." she seemed to be thinking. "Around Kansas. Very nice. However I suggest you try to make it to the West coast. I'm sure you'll have more information by then." She smiled as wheat churned into existence.
It was now a gradient of red and yellow. "Also, don't let anything distract you from what matters most." Demeter said, then disappeared. The wheat and strawberries wilted into dead compost. The sky clouded and the ground swallowed her whole. Indah found herself in a dark room with lanterns of gold.
Five figures stood in the middle of the room. She could barely see their faces. One started speaking. "When will we begin?" One with a slightly squeaky voice asked. "Now now.." The one in the middle of the group, a voice smooth like honey spoke. "It'll be time eventually."
"They don't know what they are doing anyway." A third one said. "Well, they don't train them how they used to. They thought it was fine for a few years. The most powerful demigods, the seven, are on their own. Not to mention the death of Jason Grace. That was a long time ago anyway."
The fourth one stayed quiet. Yet, the fifth one piped up. "Shutupshutupshutup! Someone is listening!" Mumbles and murmurs from the group as the scene faded. Indah felt a wave of vertigo. She then saw the next surrounding. A calm and cozy home. Pictures adorned shelves. A painting of an owl stood above a bed. The colors were a gradient of grey and silver all the way to blue.
There were initials on the painting. 'R.D.' Indah heard noises from the hallway. Someone walked in. "But it's been years since a big problem! I thought we'd be done with quests after the Gaia situation." A man with dark hair said. He picked up a pen off a desk and pocketed it. His gaze turned towards Indah. Or at least, in her direction.
He stepped forward and grabbed something off of a shelf that was next to her. Indah only then recognized him. The dark hair and sea green eyes. Everything added up to be the legend himself; Percy Jackson.
She then saw another figure walk into the room. The person, presumably Annabeth, as the two fit the description of every story Indah ever heard about them, glanced at him and kissed him. "The life of a demigod is forever problematic," She said. Percy sighed. "Alright Wisegirl."
The scene changed once more. Indah recognized it. It was Camp Halfblood. She saw someone sculpting something. "..augh.." they hacked from dust being everywhere. Another person walked up to them. "Mat. Stop. You should take a break. Besides.. making these may be the equivalent of worship. What if the gods get mad?" The person, Dan from Hecate Cabin, said.
"Noooo.. you can't make meee-" Mateo insisted. "I need to finish this. Everyone deserves to be remembered. The man who was both of Greece and Rome himself made sure to plan out a place of worship for all the gods! So I believe all the demigods deserve something too! I bet you don't even know who Silena Beauregard and Charles Beckondarf are!" He exclaimed.
"Okay okay.. it just concerns me.. that's all." Dan murmured and walked away. Whispers ran through Mateo's ears, but Indah could just barely hear them. It fell soft along the wind, but it must have been guiding him.
The final scene shattered to dust. Indah finally woke up. Ally stood above her. "Wake up.." she snapped. "-huh..??" Indah sat up. "You, Nik, and I are the only ones awake. I checked and we are somewhere midwestern." She explained. "Ah. I see." Indah nodded.
"Well.. We're going to be here for a while." Nikolai said, walking over to the two. "Grand..." Ally rolled her eyes. "I have some seeds.. we'll be good foodwise." Indah suggested. "Ooh.. yay.."
The three talk for a while, waiting for the others to come through.
